Industrial Revolution of the Mage Lords
Chapter 11: The Magic Web Spellcaster Forum
Chapter 11: The Magic Web Spellcaster Forum
In the Sky Realm, the magical city of Alayeh, the headquarters of the Alchemy Exploration Society.
Life Alchemy - Laboratory No. 7.
Chief alchemist Offrey Quinn stood up from the laboratory table, took off the protective mask covering his face, and pinched his brows with a tired look.
In order to distract himself from the frustration of the failed experiment, he turned and walked to his desk, trying to read a few letters or bulletins to calm his mood.
"Offrey? Why are you still in the lab? How many days has it been?"
A middle-aged man in a simple alchemical robe pushed the door open and walked in. When he saw Ofrey standing in the room, he raised his eyebrows in surprise.
The two men looked almost identical, both in their forties, with slightly curly, messy short hair, big bags under their eyes and heavy dark circles.
"Ed, could you at least knock on the door first?" Offrey glared speechlessly at his reckless twin brother, then turned his head to read the letter.
Ed didn't care about his brother's complaints at all. He walked to the laboratory table and sat down, putting on the mask that Ofrey had just taken off.
"Hiss, the death energy is so dense... why..."
"Because alchemical items have no life, this energy cannot remain attached to them for a long time." Offrey's attention was not on the letter at all.
The two brothers were about to reunite at the laboratory table to continue their in-depth discussion on the reasons for the failure of this experiment.
There was a knock on the door.
"Come in!" Except for Ed, no one dared to enter the chief's office without knocking.
"Chief, you have a parcel mail sent from the Bell Tower Lane Post Office." An apprentice came in with his head lowered and respectfully placed a small box-like package on the desk.
"Post Office?" Ofrey was a little confused as to why they didn't use the faster griffin to deliver the goods.
"Perhaps the package is too heavy, and the price of those griffins delivering the goods is too high." Ed raised his head and winked teasingly, "Your students are generally not well-off."
Auffre is a professor at the Alaye Alchemy School and is highly respected by students. Students from other places often send him gifts or alchemical works they invented.
The chief alchemist smiled bitterly and shook his head, then prepared to have the apprentice who had not yet left take the package to the storage room intact.
"Wait, let's open it and take a look. It's a good change of mood." Ed quickly pressed down the package and opened it quickly.
"Huh? What's this new thing?"
The two of them exclaimed in surprise at the same time, and leaned down to observe the delicate instrument in the box with a brass metallic color.
"Typewriter? Is this the kind of typewriter civilians use?"
"No, there is no crystal plate on the typewriter." Ed carefully took out the instrument and placed it steadily on the table.
"Look, there's a groove on the side. Judging by its shape, it should be used to place the Philosopher's Stone. This is an alchemical instrument."
"Yes, there are spell inscriptions on the pedestal, but... is this the inscription for the Spell Messenger? There are some similarities."
"First, use the magic stone to activate it and see what this instrument is used for. It's so exquisitely made!" Ed exclaimed, looking like he couldn't let it go.
Ofrey unscrewed the drawer handle, took out a crystal green high-level charging magic stone, and gently inserted it into the card slot on the side of the typewriter.
With a click, the inscription on the base of the instrument lit up.
The place where white paper was originally placed on the typing roller was replaced by a translucent crystal plate, which was inserted vertically above the roller.
Ed and Ofrey stared blankly as tadpoles flowing like mercury slowly appeared on the crystal plate, eventually forming a few lines of text.
"Hello, caster. When you receive this instrument, it means you have received my invitation."
"This information transmitter, called the Magic Brain, allows you to synchronize information and knowledge exchange with other spellcasters who also possess it."
"I hereby invite you to join the Magic Web Spellcaster Forum."
"The first forum exchange meeting will begin promptly at 15:9 PM on the th of this month. The exchange will be anonymous, so you can choose a suitable codename for yourself." "Forum founder and administrator Turing."
Ed's eyes widened, and he whispered in disbelief, "How is that possible? Simultaneous communication? Multiple people communicating? He compressed a continental-level teleportation array into this typewriter?"
Aufley shook his head. "Impossible. Drawing the teleportation array requires at least five intermediate-level or higher arcane spellcasters to work simultaneously."
He paused, then murmured with some anticipation, "Perhaps a genius alchemist has improved the teleportation array. Look, isn't there a spell matrix for the spell courier on the base? Although it's not exactly the same."
Ed muttered, "But the teleportation array is one-way."
He suddenly became excited, holding the typewriter and constantly urging Offrey. "Tear it down, tear it down, look at the specific structure, look at the internal matrix!"
"Why are you panicking? The forum exchange meeting mentioned above will be held tomorrow night." Offrey said thoughtfully.
"If it's really useful, perhaps our current research can find a breakthrough at the exchange meeting..."
Ofrey looked at the last line of text on the crystal board, raised his hand and typed his code name on the typewriter keys.
"The Man in the Mirror."
……
The Mage Kingdom, Daeus.
The towering and magnificent mage tower.
A middle-aged man with short dark red hair and wearing an elegant black and gold wizard robe sat at the desk, roaring angrily at the typewriter in front of him.
"Sorry, the code you entered is already in use."
"Why? Why can't we use the code name 'Scorching Overlord'?" He just cursed twice, and suddenly seemed to remember something. He looked around suspiciously and muttered in a low voice.
"Is it possible that the teacher's legendary title cannot be replaced by someone else? I was originally planning to use his power to bully others on the forum..."
"Forget it, let's change it to Lord of Fire." The red-haired middle-aged wizard raised his hand again and tapped the keys alternately with his middle finger in a very unfamiliar manner.
"Sorry, the code you entered has been used." The silver text reappeared on the crystal plate, exactly the same as before.
"Shitty instrument!" The red-haired wizard gritted his teeth, raised his fist covered in a layer of burning flames and aimed it at the instrument, wanting to hit it but stopping himself.
"Son of Flame! It's okay if I call you Son of Flame!"
"Congratulations, your code name application is successful!"
"Shit!"
……
Harvey was in the laboratory, looking at the words flashing on the crystal screen, and his lips curled up in satisfaction.
It seems that this batch of anonymously sent "computers" has been delivered to the first batch of trial users on time.
Harvey did not screen the first batch of trial users. He just took out the Federation Bulletin and found a long list of people who had published research results and papers. He just had to send them to them one by one and cast a wide net.
They are not only the data feedback providers of the magic network transmission experiment, but also their potential future customers.
We just need to wait until tomorrow night, when the first online chat room opens, to monitor the specific communication data in real time.
To be honest, Harvey does not have absolute confidence in the server and the matching "magic brain" device that are currently under development and assembly.
He planned to invite about ten people as the first chat room members, and some people might be absent or refuse to participate for various reasons.
But judging from the number of codenames "registered" reported by the server, there will be at least six to seven high-level spellcasters participating tomorrow night.
Let’s first see how many people it can carry and achieve simultaneous cross-continental information transmission.
