Chapter 227: Enemy Luring Plan

Chapter 227: Enemy Luring Plan
Phil Holden and Matthews Willy were flying at high speed, one in front and the other behind, with four demon priests following closely behind them a few hundred meters away. The other party did not seem to be in a hurry to speed up and catch up, but just followed the flight trajectory of the two, as if waiting to exhaust their magic power in this vast wilderness.

Fell shouted, "Look ahead! How about setting up an ambush there?"

Matthews subconsciously looked forward and found that it was a dense forest with rolling hills. However, the vegetation was obviously much denser than other places. The trees were almost tightly packed together and growing desperately. There was not even a gap between the treetops. At first glance, it looked like an extremely huge dark green carpet.

He nodded to Fair, and the two of them tacitly stopped in mid-air, then rushed diagonally downwards, immediately submerging their figures in the dense primeval forest.

Matthews held up a thin layer of ice shell to protect his body to prevent being scratched by tree branches during the dive.

Fair didn't care about all this. He rushed forward headfirst, knocking away the branches along the way, and even broke a tree branch as thick as his thigh with his head.

The two rushed all the way to the ground, then quickly took out the "Gun of Annihilation" from the storage ring and stuffed several crystal clear bullets into the slot at the end of the gun according to memory.

"Have you ever used this thing? Is it really as they say, that as long as it hits the demon's body, it will trigger an annihilation power similar to the dark bloodline, causing their flesh and blood to instantly wither and decay?"

Fel nodded. "I never believe what others say, but since Mr. Kel'Thuzad helped create this thing, there's no way it'll go wrong. And I heard... if it hits a vital part, it can cause the opponent's body to disintegrate, like a stone shattered by a hammer... Hehe, just thinking about it makes me feel good!"

Matthews felt relieved a little and was about to ask some more details of the operation, but he heard a violent wind sound above his head. Three demon priests broke through the cover of the tree canopy and rushed towards them at a rapid speed.

The gun in Fair's hand was fired almost at the same time as a missile emitting black fire flew out of the opponent's hand!
Matthews instantly swung out dozens of dense ice blades, which collided with the black flame magic missile, causing a violent fluctuation of magic power, and a loud bang echoed in the air.

When he looked up again, he found that the body of the demon priest who released the black flame seemed to be hit by an invisible hammer. It suddenly exploded from the waist, and the upper and lower torso broke into two parts and fell straight to the ground without spraying a drop of blood.

The remaining two priests immediately and flexibly changed their swooping flight path, hiding their bodies between the thick tree trunks, and at the same time let out sharp screams - they were calling for the leading ascended one to come and help.

They actually got separated because they were searching separately...

Fell grinned and tucked the gun under his arm, muttering to himself, "What's going on? I was clearly aiming at his head."

As he spoke, he rubbed his hands together and condensed a huge chain of flames. The temperature around him instantly rose several times. Matthews, who was standing beside him, felt that the air had become much thinner and his mouth became dry unconsciously.

Fair stared at the demon priest who was constantly changing his position and attacking him. He clasped his hands together and threw the long chain of fire in his hand. As soon as the chain left his body, it immediately turned into a giant red flaming python, raised its head high, hissed, then climbed on the thick tree trunk and swept towards the enemy.

The trees in the dense forest that the fire python passed by were all set on fire, and flames and thick smoke rose into the sky.

"Are you going to burn this entire forest? Cough cough! Even if we escape the pursuit of the promoted ones, we won't be able to fly out!" Matthews was choked by the smoke and cursed.

Fell shrugged nonchalantly. "Let's focus on the battle first. I'm a fire elemental mage, what can I do? Just let it burn..."

Seeing that the fire python had already wrapped around a demon priest, Matthews could only roll his eyes and shift his attention to another enemy attacking from the side.

He silently chanted a spell, and a layer of crystal ice immediately formed under his feet. The ice spread rapidly, like a mirror-smooth road, carrying Matthews at the speed of light, and he arrived in front of the enemy in an instant.

He just stretched out his hands, and a large amount of ice crystals and snowflakes immediately condensed out of thin air within a few meters around him. As soon as the demon priest's feet touched the ground, they were immediately frozen. He had to emit black flames all over his body to melt the ice and free himself from the restraints.

Three black flame spheres appeared beside him, spinning towards Matthews who was standing on the ice, but were blocked one after another by the ice shields that kept appearing during the flight, and finally shattered and exploded.

Three extremely sharp ice spikes appeared silently behind the demon priest. They were condensed from the ubiquitous floating ice crystals in the icy area created by Matthews.

With a slight hissing sound, an illusory shield that suddenly appeared behind the demon priest shattered, but the remaining two ice spikes pierced into his vest without any pause, causing his body to stiffen and he suddenly spit out a mouthful of blood.

In the domain of a high-level ice spellcaster, every snowflake can instantly transform into a weapon to kill the enemy.

"A priest who has just been promoted to a high rank does not have much combat experience..." Matthews curled his lips and said softly as he looked at the enemy lying on the ice.

Turning around, he found that another enemy had been strangled by the giant fire python condensed by Fel and burned into a human-shaped charcoal. He died instantly without even having time to scream.

A loud blast of air-breaking sound echoed from the sky; it was the Ascendant approaching. The two men instinctively looked up, but they didn't see the Ascendant swooping down from the sky.

"careful!"

Matthews, whose eyes were strengthened by magic, was the first to notice the abnormality and shouted to Fair.

A layer of scorching flame shield instantly appeared on the fire mage's body, wrapping him tightly in it. He turned around suddenly and found a pair of strange black and twisted arms grabbing his waist fiercely!

He subconsciously activated the flame shield outside his body to a more intense effect, but found that the strange black hands completely ignored the scorching flames that could even melt metal, and directly penetrated the shield and grabbed his waist heavily.

Fair groaned in pain and took two steps back. Suddenly, his foot slipped and he fell to the ground. He found himself lying on the slippery ice and sliding backwards at high speed.

A huge tear on the waist stained the white ice surface with scarlet spots along the way.

"Damn it! This guy's ability to be promoted is to break the devil! Be careful not to fight him in close combat!" Fair covered the wound on his waist and cursed as he struggled to get up.

A figure wearing a crimson robe and a metal crown slowly appeared where Fair had just stood.

His face was unlike that of other demon priests. It was not covered with fine natural scales, but was densely engraved with many strange spells. What was even more strange was that two twisted, black, and deformed long arms suddenly grew out from the ribs under his arms. As he walked, he unconsciously waved them around, as if trying to grab something.

Matthews slid backwards quickly with Fair, and asked anxiously, "I've never fought against an ascended demon priest. Besides their demon-breaking abilities, what other oddities do they have?"

Feier coughed up a mouthful of blood and discovered that the wound on his waist couldn't be stopped by his flesh-and-blood-strengthened body. He couldn't help but snort coldly, "Teleport, weakness... He also has the ability to inflict weakness upon his attacks. I was injured by him, and the bleeding from the wound can't be stopped..."

He paused and whispered, "Don't fight him with magic attacks... Try to use the Annihilation Spear. Attacking his body might not be very effective. You have to aim for his head!"

Before Matthews could nod in response, the figure of the ascendant immediately flashed in the direction of the sliding in front, and a pair of twisted long arms reached straight towards him. Two continuously rotating lightless black holes suddenly appeared in the palms of their hands. The crystal snowflakes and ice crystals in the frozen area were constantly sucked into them, and the vortex of the black hole expanded rapidly.

Suddenly, a dark ripple burst out from the palm of the ascendant, instantly sweeping across the burning dense forest, instantly extinguishing all the flames within a radius of 100 meters. The fluctuation of magic power swept through like a hurricane, directly shattering the icy field condensed by Matthews.

The smooth ice surface melted and disappeared in an instant. The two people who could not control the direction of sliding were immediately thrown away. Fair even crashed heavily into a charred tree trunk, and another mouthful of blood spurted out. This time, he couldn't even stand up.

Matthews rolled over and got up from the ground, took off the Annihilation Spear on his back, half-crouched and held the gun horizontally - when the weapons were issued, all spellcasters were informed of the usage techniques in advance, which could improve the accuracy of shooting and aiming.

The figure of the "promoter" kept flashing and disappearing, then quickly reappearing, and almost instantly approached Matthews' position, until he flashed for the last time. Matthews quickly pulled the trigger at his chest - the distance was less than five meters, but he was not sure he could hit the opponent's head, so hitting the torso was the safest.

With a slight "zizz" sound, one of the dry arms of the promoted suddenly broke off out of thin air, and a large amount of dark and thick mist burst out from the broken end. This mist seemed to not distinguish between friend and foe, and when it came into contact with his normal body parts, it actually produced a very serious corrosive effect.

The ascended one roared angrily, and held his only remaining arm horizontally in front of him. He clasped his normal hands together and pushed them forward suddenly, and a huge black fireball rushed straight towards Matthews.

The distance was too close, and Matthews had no time to release the defensive shield, and his magic power was almost consumed in the previous battle.

He felt a chill in his heart, but he did not intend to roll in vain to dodge. Instead, he raised the Spear of Annihilation again and aimed at the chest of the Ascendant again, wanting to die with him.

But before he could pull the trigger, the Ascendant's head suddenly exploded with a bang, and the metal crown was knocked away, hitting a rock on the ground with a crisp sound.

The black flame sphere, which had lost the control of the ascendant, instantly disintegrated before it even touched Matthews' body, and exploded directly less than a meter away in front of him. Several clusters of black flames fell on Matthews' shoulders and arms, immediately burning scars on his skin.

Ignoring the pain in his body, he turned to look at Fair who was not far away. He found that although the other party was unable to get up, he was actually struggling to lie against the tree trunk, holding the Spear of Annihilation and grinning at him.

"How's it going? My aim is pretty good, right? A headshot!" He chuckled twice, his face extremely pale, and he urged Matthews repeatedly, "Hiss... Quick! Use your ice spell to freeze my wound, I'm about to bleed out!"
