Chapter 326: The Temple of the Dead

Chapter 326: The Temple of the Dead
White, huddled in a corner of the tent, watched with an inexplicable look of terror as the summoned higher-level demon's twisted and slender figure transformed into several dark red cyclones, rapidly pouring into Harvey's eyes, ears, mouth, nose and other facial features.

After waiting for about half a minute, Harvey, who was standing still, trembled slightly, then turned around, revealing his eyes that had been dyed a deep red.

"This... this... should... should... everything will be fine... no problem."

As soon as he opened his mouth, White felt as if countless people's voices were exploding in his ears, but he could clearly distinguish Harvey's voice from among them, as if he was the leader who occupied an absolutely dominant position among the crowd.

Javier tilted his head slightly uncomfortably, and suddenly, without any warning, a terrifying crimson mouth appeared on his neck. White felt his spirit was polluted after just one glance, and quickly turned his head away.

But then the voice of the higher demon came out from the crack, "Hmm... Mr. Kel'Thuzad, I'm afraid I won't agree with your suggestion next time. This body... is simply too crowded."

Harvey curled his lips and did not argue. He knew very well that the other party was not saying that this soul puppet was not suitable as a container for multiple mental powers and consciousnesses, but that his own mental power had become too huge due to the amplification of the mental anchor, and it could not be controlled and squeezed the projection of Mr. Heart Demon's consciousness into the corner of the body.

"For now, I'll just have to trouble you to be patient..." Harvey shook his robe and gestured to White, "Mr. White, let's meet up with Mr. Black right now and head to the ceremony location!"

……

The entire spellcaster camp was in chaos as a pot of boiling water due to Brian's deliberate disturbance. Many low-level necromancers rushed out of their tents in a panic, and began to try to suppress and control the zombies running around in the camp in a panic.

Several tall stitched corpse puppets rushed around, attacking several supply storage points, scattering a large amount of spellcasting materials and daily necessities all over the ground.

Blake, breathlessly, met up with Harvey and White outside the camp. "I've awakened all the zombies and skeletons in the cave... and a few stitched corpses. It's enough to cause some noise in the camp, and it's sure to attract some people from the ceremony site to come and investigate."

He then noticed White, who looked a little strange, and asked in confusion, "White, what happened? Why do you look so bad?"

Harvey ignored the brief exchange between the two, but closed his eyes and quickly entered a state of guided meditation, spreading the powerful tentacles of mental power in all directions with himself as the center.

The bloody wound on his neck opened and closed. "Mr. Kel'Thuzad, there's a strong smell of death underground in the northeast."

Almost simultaneously, Harvey used his mental power to sense the magical fluctuations in that area. He opened his eyes and said to White and Black, "You've been deceived. The actual location of the ritual isn't on the western reeftop... but beneath the ground to the northeast. There must be a natural underground pit there!"

Blake suddenly realized, "I know that place. It's not too far from the camp. Let's go there quickly!"

The three of them didn't delay any longer and hurried over immediately. They soon found a deep and narrow gap in the ground in the rocky area.

There were no guards posted at the entrance? Were they completely focused on the transformation ritual? Or were the people on the surface distracted by the chaos in the nearby camp?
Harvey couldn't care less. The dim moonlight above his head was almost reaching the zenith. The closer it got to midnight, the more dangerous Lambert's situation became.

Without hesitation, he led the way into the dark opening. Inside was a long corridor barely wide enough for a person to stand upright. The slope was not too steep, extending straight down. Every few steps, a dimly lit magic stone was embedded in the mountainside, only dimly illuminating the path ahead.

Suddenly, there was a nearly ninety-degree turn in front of the corridor. A low chanting sound faintly reached the ears of Harvey and the other two, causing White and Black to hold their breath and move forward more cautiously.

Harvey heard the inner demon whisper in his mind, "Just ahead, behind this huge rock... there is a protective magic circle. With your mental strength, it should be easy to break it."

Harvey nodded and said nothing more. He walked quickly around the corner of the corridor and instantly felt as if his body had passed through an illusory curtain barrier, as if he had entered a dead silent world without any sound or color. Only black, white and gray silently enveloped everything.

There was an open underground area in front of him, but in the center stood a magnificent pale palace, which was two or three times the size of his own lord's castle. The tall spire did not penetrate the rock layer of the top of the mountain, but penetrated into a vortex-shaped void, as if it had established a connection with another space.

What shocked Harvey the most was that on the outer walls of the huge palace castle, there were many vivid faces frozen, including humans, demons, dwarves, elves, etc. Their expressions were sometimes peaceful and sometimes distorted. At a rough glance, there were about ten thousand of them.

Harvey felt something was wrong and was about to ask Mr. Inner Demon when he felt White and Black behind him suddenly rush forward, jump over him and kneel on the ground in front of them. They turned around and pointed at the palace in the distance with horror, their lips moving as if they wanted to say something, but no sound came out.

Harvey looked in the direction of the two people's fingers and was shocked to find that their faces were embedded in the wall somewhere, tightly pressed together, and the expressions on their faces were exactly the same as those of their bodies kneeling on the ground.

The constant movement of White and Black's lips finally made Harvey understand what they wanted to say.

"How come our faces, along with those dead souls, have been integrated into this strange palace wall?"

Harvey subconsciously shook his head to indicate that he didn't know either, and subconsciously took two steps forward, trying to pull the two men up from the ground. However, he suddenly found that two lines of thick black liquid were slowly flowing out of White and Blake's eyes, which were full of fear and despair. At first glance, it looked like black tears.

The bloody hole on the neck opened instantly, and two invisible cyclones surged out of it, quickly connecting with the bodies of White and Black who were lying on the ground, and continuously drawing out bits of black substance from their bodies and absorbing it into Harvey's neck through the bloody hole.

"What's going on? Mr. Heart Demon, they..."

"If I'm not mistaken, this is an illusory projection of the Temple of the Dead, created by a legendary undead spellcaster. Once you step into the area affected by it, the mark of your soul will be uncontrollably engraved on the temple, and your original flesh and blood body will quickly decay and die."

Harvey thought to himself, "So what were you doing just now? Rescuing White and Black?"

The inner demon was silent for a moment, then spoke with a hint of pride, "This all stems from your brilliant idea. I followed the method you taught me and removed the desire for death from their bodies. As for the desire for life... well, I've acquired a lot of it from other sources myself, so it wouldn't be a waste to give some to them. You know I'm always generous."

He paused and reminded, "But this is only temporary. The decay of the body is irreversible. Aside from you, a strange creature filled with secrets, no one else can completely circumvent the influence of this area. We must escape or break the seal of the projection as soon as possible."
