Chapter 85: Angron the Traitor, Angron the Coward
Chapter 85: Angron the Traitor, Angron the Coward
A series of exquisite reliefs are engraved on the granite walls of the Colosseum. The lifelike sculptures and Nuceria characters depict a story from the past, a story of a betrayer.
When Kahn saw a giant wearing the Butcher's Nails and standing with a group of ragged mortals holding weapons, his two hearts suddenly contracted violently.
The craftsmen and artists of Nuceria possess extraordinary skills, which makes their carvings extremely vivid and realistic. The familiar face and the familiar look of anger are exactly those of Angron before he was found by the Emperor.
"What's written on it?"
When Karnsen's cold voice rang out, the supervisor almost fainted.
He realized that if he hesitated for a few seconds, Kahn's huge chainsaw axe would smash him to pieces, but if he read the words above...
The supervisor suddenly felt as if he had lost his parents. There were only two different dead ends in front of him.
"This is the story of the traitor Angron..."
"Angron, the former traitor leader, dared to rebel against the rule of the high-ranking riders and led those equally lowly slave gladiators to launch a rebellion."
"Many slaves responded to his rebellion. Nuceria was ablaze with war, and high-ranking riders had to suppress the rebellion everywhere. But in the final battle, this traitor escaped without dignity or honor."
As he tremblingly read the Nuceria text in High Gothic, all the World Eaters fell into an eerie silence.
Beneath this silence lies the terrifying rage of a geothermal volcano about to erupt.
"What do you call him? Say it again." Kahn squeezed out the words one by one.
"Traitor and coward."
"What about the gladiators who fought alongside him? What did you do to them?"
The supervisor simply pointed to the stone tablet at the entrance to the Colosseum, which had a few lines of text written on it in a variety of languages including Nuceria and High Gothic.
Kahn leaned over so that his eye level was with it.
[The traitor Angron's accomplices are buried here, the honor of high-ranking riders must not be trampled upon]
Right under the busy main entrance, after Angron's brothers and sisters were captured, both those who died in battle and those who survived by chance were buried alive, and even after their death, molten iron was poured on them to completely seal them.
Those were high-ranking riders and dignitaries who were intimidating all the slaves. Anyone who dared to resist or escape would suffer a fate more horrible than death.
What an insult, what a despicable act! Kahn's long-accumulated anger could no longer be contained. He tore out the head of the hateful Nuceria man beside him, along with his spine, with his bare hands. The terrifying force almost turned him into a puddle of mud.
The blood of the Nucerias splattered at the main entrance of the arena, right on the ground where the rebels were buried. The head in Kahn's hand had an expression of horror, and he was still in deep fear until his death.
He feared the cruel fate that was about to befall Nuceria, from which no one, no one would be spared.
The traitor's son is back and he will kill all the nobles.
The World Eater casually dropped the head and spine to the ground, crushing them into an unrecognizable pile of blood and broken bones with just a step of his power boots.
No orders were needed, the World Eaters no longer needed to restrain themselves, and the total massacre began from this moment on.
Like a tide, the World Eaters poured into the city of Dessian. Kahn took the lead and used the chainsaw axe in his hand to directly split open the gate that blocked the way. The axe light, faster than lightning, had cut the guards at the door into pieces.
"Leave no one behind!"
Kahn's ferocious voice came out from his helmet. The World Eaters killed every living thing they saw. The roar of chain axes pierced the sky, and suddenly the huge Desian Colosseum was filled with a bloody smell.
The shock and pain before death, the curses and prayers of mortals, the buzzing of power weapons and chain axes tearing flesh and blood, all formed a symphony in this historic arena.
The Butcher's Nails bestow a wonderful blessing upon their host's killing spree. These vicious implants release a cocktail of hormones and chemicals into the brain, perpetuating the host's frenzy. For those Astartes afflicted by the Butcher's Nails, only the temporary pause of the nails in their brains during battle and bloodshed is supreme enjoyment.
Kahn took the lead and rushed into the battlefield at the bottom of the arena. The ground was covered with gravel dyed crimson by blood. Turning around and looking up, he saw that the huge stands, which were linked together, were filled with bloodthirsty and crazy spectators.
The gladiators who were fighting each other stopped in tacit understanding after the World Eaters rushed into the battlefield. Their years of combat experience were warning them madly that these giants in scarlet armor were no match for them.
The World Eaters strangely bypassed the gladiators who were standing back to back with their swords and shields on guard. Kahn just glanced at them and chose to ignore them.
The World Eaters moved along the huge corridors and stairs, slaughtering all living things here, layer by layer.
The stands at the front that belonged to high-ranking knights and top nobles were empty. Kahn knew that these scum with complex information networks had already received the news before the warship arrived in Nuceria, and they were already scared and terrified at this moment.
The lesser nobles on the second floor were not so lucky. They were torn to pieces by the enraged World Eaters with chain axes. Only a few of them were able to survive for a few seconds under the protection of their bodyguards.
In response, Kahn pushed aside the battle brothers and decided to send them off personally.
Faced with the slaughter of the World Eaters, not everyone chooses to sit idly by and wait for death.
Beside the ancient nobles in the second row, some warriors called the Guards blocked the attacks from the violently clanging chain axes.
They did not use standard weapons such as swords, spears, swords, halberds, or plasma and bolt bombs.
Instead, it was replaced by a special mechanical implant with a silver metallic luster and a soft and tough texture.
This implant, called silver vine by the Nuceria, can serve as a vehicle, armor and weapon. For example, at this moment, the silver vine is wrapped around the body of the guards into a cone. The chain saw axe that can tear steel can only produce a few sparks powerlessly in front of this layer of defense.
The guards reacted quickly, almost as fast as the Astartes. Some silver vines flowed down from the body of another guard and climbed up the limbs of the World Eaters warrior like some kind of snake-like creature.
The silver vine tried to drill into the World Eater's mouth, nostrils or genitals, but its attempt failed in the face of the fully enclosed power armor.
After the attempt failed, Silver Vine changed its form again. Its mechanical tentacles began to whip the World Eater's body violently, and used its sharp tips to try to pierce the power armor that was in the way.
Kahn seized the opponent, grasping the thrashing metal with both hands and letting it whip violently against his body.
The terrifying force grabbed Silver Ivy tightly, pulled the guard over, and directly pulled out his head and spine.
The mechanical tentacles that were dancing wildly quickly spasmed and fell down. This was a very powerful implant, but its owner was just an ordinary human, not to mention that he was facing Kahn.
The guard who died at Kahn's hands was a very young boy. His face was so childish that it made people doubt whether he was an adult. However, what such a childish boy did was enough to make countless people sick.
The Royal Guards are the direct subordinates of high-ranking riders, and they will handle all the dirty work for their masters.
There are no good people in Nuceria.
Kahn stretched out a finger, stirred and pulled out a layer of silver gauze from the boy's skull. This was the implant used by the guards to control the silver vines. At this moment, it was covered in blood, and some pink-white brain tissue flowed onto Kahn's skin.
"We can talk. There is nothing that cannot be discussed." After Kahn killed another guard in the same way, the protected noble finally spoke.
Compared with his sturdy and powerful guards, this fat noble who could barely stand up was totally unworthy of the title of high-ranking rider.
The seat beneath him and his boots were equipped with anti-gravity engines that could offset the planet's gravitational pull on him.
"What do you want? As long as there is something on this planet, we can give it to you. We can join your team. As long as you nod, you can get our support, supplies, manpower or other lost technological creations..."
"Nukeria's friendship, all you need is a nod."
