Chapter 23 Rat Camp
In the woods.

There was a campsite where all the surrounding trees had been cut down and some dilapidated wooden houses had been built using branches, planks, leaves and some garbage.

There are also some dug holes around.

One upright mouse after another walked back and forth in the camp.

There was a wooden cage hanging next to a big tree. Inside the cage were a mouse and a little girl.

A big rat ran over quickly from outside.

"Boss, there's a human thing. The human thing saw me!"

"Humans! Humans! They're breaking in!"

"Run, let's run."

"Shut up, shut up!"

A ratman who was obviously a size larger than the other ratmen said in a sharp voice.

As soon as he finished speaking, the other ratmen fell silent.

"One? Only one?"

"Yes, yes, Boss!"

"Haha, kill him and eat his meat, delicious, delicious!" the big rat said loudly.

The other mice cheered instantly.

Dancing and screaming.

"Human flesh, human flesh!"

“Delicious, delicious, yes! yes!”

In an instant, the ratman who had just come to report the news ran out with several other ratmen. They were holding weapons and were very excited.

Some mice wanted to follow him out.

"Enough, enough! Other rats, come back!"

Being trapped in the boiling rat camp made the little girl in the cage even more terrified. She covered her mouth to hold back her crying.

The mouse next to him comforted him, "Don't worry, your people will definitely come to rescue you, and then Bobot will be saved too."

But the little girl obviously didn't appreciate it and huddled in a corner of the cage.

"Hey, why are you doing this? Bobot is not like them."

"Bobot is much more civilized and smarter than these bastards."

The big rat who just shouted was obviously the leader of the camp.

He turned to Popot, who was hanging in the cage in the air, and shouted, "Shut up, white rat, or I'll bite your neck off."

"Huh? Then come on, you idiot who can't even speak clearly, if you have the guts, bite Popot to death!"

As he spoke, the mouse named Popot started yelling and dancing in the cage.

Looking at his impatient look, it seems as if he can't wait to die.

"Come on, you idiot, look at your tail and that rotten ear with the corner of it limp.

It’s so ugly!”

The rat leader was obviously very angry, but there was nothing he could do, so he simply covered his ears and walked away.

Seeing that he ignored it, the white mouse started scolding the other mice.

……

the other side.

The few people who had just entered the woods scattered around, holding their weapons and moving forward cautiously.

"there's noise."

George said quickly.

A few people listened carefully and indeed heard the rustling sound of grass leaves rubbing against each other.

For some unknown reason, several ratmen rushed out in a hurry and bumped into Blake who was walking in front.

I stood there in a daze for a moment.

"It's human! It's human!"

"Iron Man, run, the Iron Man is coming!"

"It's not food, run! Run!"

A few mice that bumped directly into Blake seemed to have poor vision and were immediately frightened when they found that Blake was wearing full body armor.

Screaming and trying to escape.

"What are you standing there for? Come on!"

Kana yelled from behind.

"Don't let any of them escape, run and surround them!"

As he said that, Kana patted Aliris.

Aliris understood instantly, ran past and directly ran behind the rats.

After Kana's reminder, they came to their senses when they saw the talking rat for the first time.

Blake had already killed one with his sword.

Looking at the mouse that was hit by his sword and half of its body was about to be cut in half.

Blake was sure these rats were really weak, so he rushed forward in a few steps.

These rats were very agile and started running around when they found that their retreat routes were also cut off.

Fortunately, they were spread out widely.

George bent his bow and shot an arrow at a scurrying rat.

The arrow even penetrated the rat's torso.

"There's one running away over there!"

A soldier shouted that his spear had missed the target because the rats were running too fast.

The rat is on George's side.

He quickly drew his bow, but the arrow lodged itself in the mouse's front.

The mouse was so frightened that it turned around quickly.

"Give me."

Cana snatched the bow from George's hand and pulled the arrow out of his back.

Face the direction where the mouse is.

The arrow flew through the air.

It hit the rat's head accurately and nailed it to the ground on the spot.

The last mouse was also killed.

Cana then returned the bow to George: "Not bad shooting, but you need to practice more."

George took the bow blankly and looked at the shot mouse in the distance.

Only those who are real archers know how difficult it is to bend the bow quickly and hit the target in the woods, and to hit such an agile target directly in the head.

He really didn't expect that this adult was so good at archery.

Looking at Kana, he wanted to praise her, but after a long while, he managed to utter: "You are awesome, sir."

Kana smiled but said nothing.

I thought to myself, if it was an elf bow, I would be even more powerful.

If you play a hunter or ranger, you have to play an elf, which will directly elevate the experience to several levels.

Blake and Aliris came to Cana's side, and the soldiers also dragged over several rat corpses.

Several people present were observing the mouse's corpse.

"It really is like a mouse standing up."

"What big rats! They can actually talk."

Pointy-eared ratmen, as their name suggests, have pointy rat ears.

The whole body is covered with black hair, and the difference in fur is probably just the degree of blackness.

Kana poked the rat carcasses with his legs.

But no signs were seen on their tails.

Pointed-eared ratmen are divided into clans, and usually have the clan symbol engraved on their tails.

But these mice don't, which is very strange.

Could it be that he is still a self-employed person?

"Why did they suddenly rush over and then run away in fear?" Blake was a little confused.

When he saw the rats rushing towards him, he thought they were coming to attack him and wanted to get rid of one first.

As a result, when these mice approached, they ran away screaming in panic.

"Their eyesight is not very good, and they are timid and impulsive. It should be that the mouse that just saw George went back to report the news, and brought a few other mice with them to catch George and eat him." Kana explained casually.

"Eat, eat it?!" George's voice rose twice in surprise.

The other soldiers were also surprised. Could this rat eat people?
"What are you wondering about? Otherwise, why would they kidnap the child? Are they taking him home to raise?"

George swallowed his saliva. He didn't expect these rats to be so ferocious, but they were quite weak.

It felt like he could just go up and chop one or two of them to death with a knife.

There were only five rat carcasses in front of them.

Blake killed two of them, and Aliris caught one in the back.

George shot one to death with an arrow and also shot one himself.

None of the four soldiers' attacks hit the target, but there was nothing they could do about it, and Kana could understand that.

Cana looked at the rat that Aliris had kicked away.

She narrowed her eyes slightly and stepped on his tail.

However, the mouse was as if dead and did not move.

"You're quite patient."

As he said this, he stepped down hard and even twisted it twice.

The mouse was instantly overwhelmed with pain and opened its eyes, yelling, "It hurts so much! It hurts so much! Let me go, spare me!"

Kana loosened his legs a little.

"Now, I ask you a question, and you answer it, or I'll peel off your skin."
