Chapter 56 The Cursed Dwarf
Lurik scolded the dwarves of this outpost severely, especially the dwarf captain in charge of this outpost.

The two dwarves didn't dare to say a word despite being scolded, until Lurik said, "For now, reduce your beer by half."

"What! No, Yatta!"

There was even a hint of fear in the dwarf captain's voice, as if he didn't dare to think about his future life.

"No room for negotiation. It depends on your performance later."

Alice and George were both a little confused. Was the punishment of halving the beer so severe?

Seeing Aliris's bewildered look, Cana smiled and explained, "For dwarves, beer is the blood in their veins. In the dwarven forces, beer is a strategic commodity."

Aliris nodded, not quite understanding.

Because it was too late, several people were arranged to stay in the room and rest for the night.

But after all, it was a dwarf's room, so I didn't get much rest and woke up early the next day.

Outside, Lurik and others were ready.

When they arrived outside the watchtower, they found a group of goats with saddles on their bodies.

"Now that you're awake, we need to hurry to the Flattop Watchtower. Take these war sheep."

Kana and his companions looked at the group of goats, but only Kana smiled and even reached out to touch the goats.

Everyone else, including Popot, looked confused.

George seemed to have heard something, with an expression of disbelief on his face. He pointed at the goats and said, "Could it be...could it be that they want us to ride on these things?"

"Hahaha, don't worry, they are all a bunch of great guys." Getari said with a big laugh and rode directly on the goat next to him to show everyone.

George looked at the group of dwarfs and then at himself. He wanted to say that he was much taller than the dwarfs.

Kana beside him smiled and said, "Don't worry, although the dwarves are somewhat smaller than us, they are actually heavier than most normal humans.

So these war sheep can bear our weight, just a little bumpy."

Dwarves weigh about 1.5 times as much as humans, and they are often fully armored. Even so, war sheep can carry them across the mountains.

After saying that, Kana sat on the war sheep in front of him. Apart from being a little bit uncoordinated, it was acceptable.

"Okay, friends, come and sit down, time waits for no one," Getari urged.

The others all got on the sheep, though most of them were a little clumsy.

After all, it was the first time for them to ride sheep.

"Let's go!"

Lurek took the lead and rode the war sheep and rushed out, with the other sheep following closely behind.

Several humans riding on the goats immediately began to sway back and forth. Their disproportionate heights made the ride much bumpier.

But it’s much better than I imagined.

Bend down again and try to get as close to the sheep as possible and it will be even better.

This group of goats kept running and jumping on the mountain. The rugged mountain road was as flat as flat ground for them, even if they were carrying one or two hundred kilograms of things.

Around noon, they could already see from afar a large watchtower standing on a platform on the top of the mountain.

It looks like a small fortress.

There isn't much difference here from the game.

A dwarf saw them from a distance, waved his hand, and pulled up the stone gate in the mountain, allowing them to enter.

The moment the war sheep stopped, George jumped down immediately and then knelt on the ground. His face was pale and he almost vomited.

Even Alice's face didn't look good.

For the two of them, the riding experience of the War Sheep was really not good.

"Yata? Why are you here?" A dwarf in heavy armor walked over. What's interesting is that the weapon the dwarf was wearing was a sword.

After saying that, he looked at Kana and others behind him, as well as Popot. This team was indeed eye-catching.

Humans and ratmen.

"Take me to the isolation ward first," Lurik said directly. The fully armored dwarf with a brown beard nodded and led everyone into the watchtower, eventually arriving at a makeshift isolation ward with wooden planks.

But his eyes turned to Kana and others.

"Don't worry, they are my friends."

"If that's the case, then fine."

He opened the wooden door, and a less severe stench wafted out, exactly the same as the smell they had smelled in the nearby cave passage.

In addition, there was a hint of alcohol mixed in with the stench.

Lurik walked inside, and the others followed.

It is quite spacious inside, with windows for ventilation, and beds extending from the walls on both sides.

There were dwarves lying on it, and some people were walking around in the ward.

Without exception, these dwarves had boils on their faces, some of which had even burst.

Many dwarves were still holding bottles of wine in their hands, and they looked very depressed.

There is almost no such thing as dwarves being unable to drink alcohol if they are sick, and they don't even get sick very often.

"Yata?"

"Yata!"

As Lurik walked in, the dwarves became excited and stood up to greet him.

"Thank you for your hard work, my brothers."

Eric walked in and went straight to a bed where another dwarf lay. Looking closely, although all dwarves looked the same, this one was extremely similar to Eric.

"Eric? Don't come over here, or I might infect you."

"This isn't contagious, didn't you hear that before? You idiot."

"Really? Maybe I was drunk earlier."

Looking at the situation inside, Lurik looked at the dwarf who led them here and said, "Ritank, is the situation here a little better?"

The dwarf named Ritank shook his head and sighed, "No, it's still the same as before. In fact, the condition of several dwarves has worsened. They have started talking nonsense."

As he spoke, he led a few people into the innermost part, where there were several beds near the corner. Almost all the dwarves there were lying unconscious on the beds, with boils covering every exposed part of their arms and faces.

Even the skin color began to turn slightly green. A dwarf opened his mouth and said something, but no one could understand.

Kana looked at the scene with a serious expression: "The degree of corruption caused by the curse is getting deeper and deeper. If we delay for a while, they may be forcibly corrupted."

Dwarves have always been resistant to these things, but now it has reached this point. I don’t know how long it has been dragging on.

"These should be the first group to be infected, right?"

Lurek nodded and sighed, "That's right. They were only discovered to have problems two weeks ago. Even before that, they already had erythema and abscesses on their bodies."

That's really outrageous. If it goes on any longer, it might be almost a month.

It's amazing that one can withstand such a corrupting curse for a month.

Rita Enke, who was standing nearby, frowned at Khanna.

"Who is this?"

"This is Kana, our friend. I asked him to help solve this plague curse." Lurek gave a brief introduction.

"Curse?" Ritaunk asked with a frown.

Until just now, it was just called a disease.

"Yes, a curse from some powerful being."

Lurik began to briefly explain to the dwarf what he knew, as well as what he had experienced and seen in the cave entrance on his way back from the foot of the mountain.

After listening, Ritaunke frowned and looked at Kana, his eyes vigilant.

"So, human, why do you know this?"
