Chapter 2: First Meeting with the Queen
"Your Majesty, is your Majesty awake?"

Cohen staggered out of the bedroom, and the palace maid guarding the door hurried forward.

Cohen's eyes were filled with confusion, and he said vaguely:

"Where's Father...?"

The palace maid obviously knew what had happened to the king. With a trace of pity on her face, she comforted the king, who had the mind of only six years old, while calling the queen.

Soon, crisp footsteps were heard, and Queen Yadel walked over on slender golden high heels. The palace maids hurriedly saluted.

Cohen slowly raised his head.

The visitor was wearing a golden palace dress with a long, pure silk skirt that dragged on the ground, making her look elegant and luxurious.

The exposed arms are dazzlingly white, the waist is quite slim, the hips and thighs have soft curves, and especially the full lines of the chest, it is really hard to take your eyes off it.

Especially that stunning face that captivates everyone, there is not a single flaw to be found, she is worthy of being the most beautiful woman in the continent who can even suppress the Elf Queen.

The woman was so beautiful that it seemed unreal.

Seeing Yadel's stunning face, Cohen's heart suddenly trembled, and long-forgotten memories began to awaken.

That was the time when he was a child and spent time with his teacher, sister, and childhood sweetheart.

Cohen shook his head. As expected, appearance is justice and one's values are determined by appearance. Seeing the breathtakingly beautiful Adele, he couldn't help but feel soft-hearted.

Cohen forced himself to harden his heart and secretly warned himself that although this woman was beautiful, she was most likely the real culprit behind the downfall of the Corleone royal family, and he must not be soft-hearted!

The queen had a solemn expression, dark eyebrows and starry eyes as she gazed at Cohen calmly.

Cohen concealed his thoughts, his eyes blank, and stood there for a long time, muttering:

"Is it my sister... How come my sister has suddenly grown so tall?"

The queen's face froze when she heard this very old name.

It’s been a long time. The last time Cohen called her sister was three years ago.

Ever since the death of the previous king and she married him, this little brother whom she had watched grow up had started a cold war with her that lasted for several years and he had never called her sister again.

After a moment of silence, the queen seemed to be considering how to explain everything to a king with the mental capacity of a six-year-old. Then she said softly:

"Your Highness has had a good sleep, and my sister has grown up naturally."

"How long...how long have you been sleeping? Where's Father?"

The Queen replied in a serious tone:

"Ten years... As for my father... he has passed away due to illness. Now you are the king of Effiin!"

Cohen's eyes widened, his face showing panic, and he almost shed tears.

The queen frowned slightly and said in a deep voice:

"A lot has happened in the past ten years. I hope Your Majesty can accept it..."

"What happened to my father?"

Before the queen finished speaking, Cohen rushed into the queen's arms in panic with a hint of tears in his voice.

Cohen's childish behavior made Adair's brows flash with anger, but she quickly realized that he was only a six-year-old child and concealed her emotions slightly.

Cohen felt the huge and soft thing above his head, and he felt secretly happy. It seems that disguising himself as a child does have its advantages!
Before he awakened his past life memories, he was just a teenager. He had no feelings for the queen who had watched him grow up. Now that he had the memories of his past life, he naturally knew how it felt.

After a while, the breath of the man in her arms made the queen feel strange. She slowly pushed Cohen away and said in a deep voice:
"Your Majesty will be the ruler of a country from now on. You can no longer cry like a child."

Hearing this, Cohen slowly stopped talking, his mind moved slightly, and said:

"I... I don't know anything. How about my sister be the king?"

As soon as these words came out, everyone around was shocked. The queen's eyes suddenly turned cold and she said coldly:

"Stand up straight!"

Cohen felt a chill on his back and his whole body stiffened. His fear of the Queen was deeply hidden in his subconscious.

The Queen's voice was clearly filled with suppressed anger, and Cohen felt the temperature around him drop a few degrees.

"Remember, you are the descendant of Corleone and the king of Effiin. You would rather die on the throne than give it up to others!
If there is a next time, I will..."

Cohen seemed to be startled and stood there in a daze, staring blankly at the queen.

I started to wonder, was this woman sincere or was she just showing off her acting skills?

Everyone was also frightened by the queen's sudden anger and fell into silence.

The queen looked at Cohen, whose face was filled with fear, and an indescribable complex emotion welled up in her heart. She stopped talking, paused for a moment, and then her voice returned to calmness:
"Your Majesty is tired, go and rest."

Cohen said quickly:
"Sister, we haven't had class yet." - Young Cohen had to study magic with Adele for two hours every day.

The purpose of coming to see the queen was to get some good things to knock on the door of "Pale Wings", and he couldn't just leave like this.

The queen pursed her red lips slightly. It seemed that his memory really went back to ten years ago.

She did not refuse and said:

"Okay, then Your Majesty, follow me."

Before he finished speaking, Cohen grabbed the queen's slender hand, feeling the jade-like touch, and looked at her with his big eyes blinking, revealing an innocent and pure look.

The queen raised her eyebrows slightly, did not struggle, and walked towards the depths of the palace with Cohen.

When I pushed open a door, smoke and dust filled the room, as if it had not been used for a long time.

Cohen's memory floated, this is where he learned magic from the queen. Cohen started learning from her at the age of five and finished when he was twelve.

His eyes swept over a blackboard stick hanging not far away, and his palm reflexively felt a pain.

It is impossible for a teenage girl to teach a five or six-year-old child who is in the period of being naughty to rely on emotional education or convince the child with reason. When the child is disobedient, the blackboard stick is the best tool of persuasion.

Queen Adele looked at the familiar scene before her, her eyebrows moved slightly, and a rare hint of tenderness appeared at the corner of her mouth, but unfortunately it was fleeting and no one could see it.

With a gentle wave of her delicate hand, hundreds of tiny ice crystals instantly appeared in the room, shimmering and dazzling in the sunlight filtering through the window. The ice crystals froze the drifting dust, then slowly gathered and fused, finally transforming into a palm-sized gray-brown snowflake. With another wave of her hand, the snowflake flew into the pool outside, purifying the air in the room.

The perfect control of magic made Cohen tremble slightly.

This exquisite control over magical elements is definitely that of a magic master who has touched the legendary barrier.

At the age of 25, she is a half-step legend. No wonder she is a woman who will be deified in the future!
The queen picked up the teaching stick, looked at Cohen who was sitting obediently, and her dusty memories jumped into her mind as she began to teach.

Yadel, who was half a step away from becoming a legendary wizard, had a deeper understanding of magic than when she was in her teens. Cohen was fascinated by what he heard.

As a child, Cohen was rather mischievous, always looking for ways to play tricks on her teacher, a young woman ten years her senior. She didn't pay much attention in class and hadn't learned much of the basics. This was an opportunity to systematically study magic theory.

Two hours passed in a flash, and Cohen was still not satisfied.

Her Majesty the Queen looked at Cohen, who was listening attentively to the lecture, and her tone thawed for a rare time. She couldn't help but say:

"Your Majesty is much more obedient than before."

Cohen blinked and asked crisply:

"Sister, when can I be as good as you!"

The Queen replied earnestly, "Your Majesty, if you work hard, you will soon surpass me."

Cohen nodded, his eyes darting around, and suddenly he saw a staff sealed on the closet.

This is what Yadel used before she reached the Gold Rank. After reaching the Gold Rank, the mage gains the skill "Spellcasting Skill", which allows him to cast spells quickly without the help of a staff.

If Cohen remembered correctly, this staff was given to Yadel by his mother. It was engraved with various complex and profound magic arrays. Of course, the most valuable part was the nine ice-attribute magic crystals embedded in the staff.

The magic crystals are of the highest grade and extremely rare ice attribute. With these nine magic crystals in hand, you will definitely be able to knock on the door of "Pale Wings"!

Cohen stared motionlessly at the staff on the closet, his eyes gleaming with excitement and desire.

He pointed at the staff:

"Sister, can I see that?"

The queen raised her eyebrows slightly. Cohen used to be not interested in these things. Could it be that his temperament changed after being hit by the forbidden spell?
She waved her hand gently, and the glass window of the closet opened automatically, and the staff flew into her hand.

Cohen took the staff, and the nine top-grade magic crystals shone brightly, releasing a strong and dazzling light in the room, which dazzled Cohen.

Good stuff, really good stuff. According to the market price, a magic crystal with top-grade properties costs between 50,000 and 100,000 gold coins. These crystals are enough for Cohen to recruit a team of guards!
He caressed the staff lovingly, looked at Adair eagerly, and whispered softly:
"Good sister, good sister, can I take it away and play with it for a few days?"

Adele felt as if she were in another world. Ever since she married Cohen, he had never shown such a flattering attitude again. The last time he showed weakness and flattery was when he was caught scribbling on her favorite skirt a few years ago.

Perhaps it touched the deepest memory in the Queen's heart, and she nodded slowly:

"Okay, I'll give the staff to Your Majesty."

Looking at Cohen trying to cast a spell with his staff, Yadel's mind moved slightly. She untied a necklace from her graceful swan-like neck and said:
"Since Your Majesty has begun learning to cast spells, you may wear this necklace."

Cohen stared at Adele as she put the necklace around her neck.

Even though he already knew the purpose of the necklace, he still asked:
"Sister, what is this necklace for?"

The Queen's voice returned to its usual coldness. "The Heart of Eternity can quickly restore magic power and also has storage functions. It's also engraved with a miniature magic circle that can withstand the full force of attacks from those below the Legendary level. It's of no use to me, Your Majesty, so you can wear it from now on."

Cohen felt the lingering warmth and fragrance on the necklace and was momentarily bewildered.

Could it be you, the real culprit behind the rebellion a year later?
