Chapter 20 Sandro's Recruitment
The original disdainful and mocking look disappeared.

The people in the stands looked at the mysterious nobleman wearing a silver mask standing on the ring, and a trace of respect and faint fear rose in their hearts.

Although this person was only a first-rank cultivator, barely starting out in the Transcendental Sequence, the more so, the more astonishing it was—a first-rank cultivator who could easily defeat seven of his peers. This level of potential and talent was unheard of, at least in Effiin.

In an extraordinary world, the strong are respected wherever they are.

At this point, no one cared about the suspected match-fixing incident. Everyone had only one thought in mind: who exactly was this mysterious nobleman?

How come I have never heard of it before!
Cohen looked at the skyrocketing experience points on the panel and felt much more relaxed. He threw away the long stick that was almost scrapped and walked down the ring leisurely.

Everyone's eyes followed Cohen's figure, and finally, someone on the second floor couldn't hold back any longer.

Sandro Gant ignored the dissuasion of those around him and walked out of the box with two guards.

Cohen was considering whether to continue playing tomorrow. After all, the experience came too easily, and after ten consecutive wins, he would be fighting against opponents of a higher level, so the experience points would increase even faster.

Sandro blocked Cohen's path and said:
"I am the second son of the Grand Duke of the Southern Territory. I am giving you a chance now. If you can hold out for one minute under my guard, I will accept you as my attendant.

If you can break through the bronze rank within three years, I will ask my father to make you a knight!"

The second son of the Grand Duke of the Southern Territory!

Everyone was immediately attracted by Sandro's voice.

Unexpectedly, this "Lord of Shadows" attracted the attention of the Grand Duke's son on his first day.

Many people showed envy and jealousy.

Being able to climb up the social ladder of the Grand Duke's son was something they could not even imagine.

Cohen was stunned for a moment, not because of Sandro's recruitment, but because he was curious why the second son of the Grand Duke of the Southern Territory suddenly came to Florence.

Didn't his eldest brother just return to the Southland after having his arm chopped off? How come another young man has arrived? Does the Gaunt family really think they have too many heirs?

There is definitely something fishy!
Cohen stared at the young nobleman, who looked frivolous due to his long-term indulgence in sensual pleasures, and recalled what Snape had told him about the Gaunt family in the southern border:
The eldest son is smart, capable, and talented, and is a well-deserved heir to the Grand Duke.

The second young master is idle, lustful, and has average talent. He is in his twenties and has not yet broken through the bronze level. He is a typical playboy.

Cohen had a vague plan, perhaps he could use this second young master who was not very smart to cause some trouble in the southern border.

After all, the Queen's sister's actions have clearly torn relations with the Southern Territory. In this case, it is better to strike first!
Seeing Cohen's indifference, a trace of jealousy appeared on Sandro's face. Due to his poor talent and the fact that he was often compared with his elder brother who was more talented, he hated these geniuses the most.

Now that he has taken the initiative to recruit him, he didn't expect that this "Lord of Shadows" would ignore him in front of so many people. Damn it!

I am the son of a great duke, how dare this lowly person do this!

He was suddenly filled with anger, his face was stern, and he winked at the guard behind him.

The guard snorted coldly and said:
"How dare you! My Highness has taken the initiative to lower himself to recruit you, and you don't even say a word in reply!"

Cohen didn't want to cause a pointless conflict. After all, his identity as the "Lord of Shadows" was still very useful. He replied expressionlessly:
"Not interested." Then he walked forward.

Those who were paying attention to the situation on the field were stunned by Cohen's actions.

Should we say he was ignorant or foolish for simply rejecting the offer of the most powerful noble in the country? Sandro's face instantly turned ashen, and his teeth chattered.

In front of so many people, many of whom were nobles from home and abroad, being ignored by a first-level transcendent was tantamount to stepping on his face.

Sandro stood in front of Cohen and squeezed out a few words through his teeth, his voice sharp and piercing with anger:
"What did you say?"

Cohen sighed inwardly. He had finally realized that this boy was just a domineering fool.

He was probably used to being arrogant in the South and developed the habit of doing whatever he wanted.

Cohen's voice became cold and serious:

"Haven't you heard that the second son of the Gaunt family is deaf? Get out!"

As soon as these words were spoken, there was an uproar in the venue.

Many people suddenly felt that they had heard it wrong. What the hell, this "Lord of Shadows" was so tough that he just told the Grand Duke's son to get out?

That’s the Grand Duke of the Southern Territory. There are no more than a handful of people in the entire Florence who are qualified to say this!
Sandro seemed to have heard something unbelievable. His facial muscles were tense, the veins on his neck were clearly visible, and anger gushed out of his mouth:

"Kneel down and beg for mercy, become my slave, and I will spare your life!"

Cohen looked at Sandro coldly. He was just a dandy young man of the third rank. He should be able to kill him instantly if he was caught off guard. It was a pity that he had the identity of "Lord of Shadows".

A cold light flashed in his eyes, and he was ready to take action.

Sandro felt a chill down his spine and his breathing inexplicably stagnated.

It was as if an unknown fear was about to devour him.

Suddenly, a cold voice interrupted Cohen's actions:

"I told you to get out, didn't you hear me?"

The voice was not loud, but it was full of contempt, causing another uproar.

What’s going on today? The son of the Grand Duke is being scolded all over the place.

Hearing the undisguised cursing, Sandro's facial features were distorted with anger. The huge humiliation made him almost crazy. He was about to curse, but he found that the sound actually came from the front boxes on the first floor.

After discovering the source of the sound, Sandro calmed down a lot. Although he was a playboy, he also knew that some people could be provoked and some could not be provoked.

Especially those who are qualified to sit on the first level of the Extraordinary Arena, whose status is no lower than his father's. As a second-in-line heir, he really has no right to shout.

Restraining his anger, Sandro saw clearly that the sound came from the box and found that it was from the "Pale Wings" people.

Thinking about how his family was negotiating business with them not long ago, and now it had become so embarrassing in public, Sandro's eyes twitched fiercely, and he asked angrily:

"Weisel, we in the Southern Territory haven't offended you, right? Don't you want to talk business anymore?"

But Sandro was destined to be disappointed, because the person sitting in the "Pale Wings" box today was not the branch manager with whom he often did business!
