Chapter 62 Tarot Club
Chapter 62 Tarot Club
"The teacher must have some misunderstanding about you. Don't worry, I'll write a letter to explain it to you. He may look fierce, but he's actually very soft-hearted." Rowling patted Klein's shoulder like a good brother and comforted him.
"I think the more you explain, the angrier he'll get..." Klein sighed, feeling much more at ease.
Because he had figured it out. With the power displayed by Mr. Lucifer, if he really wanted to do something to him, he would probably crush him to death. Since the other party did not do so, and did not even directly expose his identity to Jack, but only warned him secretly, it meant that there was still hope.
"See you next time?" Klein thought of what Lucifer said to him before he disappeared and let out a sigh.
"Why are you so pessimistic?" Luo Lin naturally pretended that he didn't understand what he said. He shouted, then looked at the letter in his hand again, with a thoughtful expression, "But what the teacher means... is that he knows Mr. Fool?"
“…Maybe.” Klein couldn’t just say, “I’m the Fool. Your teacher might come talk to me later.” This was all he could muster.
"Oh, forget it. Never mind. He's so mysterious all the time anyway, so who knows who he knows? But at least Mr. Fool doesn't have to worry about him." Rowling shook his head in a disgraceful manner, then looked at Klein and said comfortingly:
"Don't be afraid. Since the teacher didn't do anything to you when we met, it means he just has a little opinion about you. It's okay."
Klein could only nod in response to this comfort.
As if he had thought of something, Rowling glanced at the spiritual ingredients for the Clown Potion in the box, then looked at Klein and said, "By the way, Klein, I haven't asked you before. Do you have any subsequent potion formulas?"
Since he had already used one alias to tease Mr. Fool, Klein would of course have to use another alias to restore his health, otherwise the pressure would be too great and the other person would be overwhelmed.
Anyway, the higher the Klein Sequence, the better the result for an investor like Rowling.
"I have the Joker's potion formula, but I don't know the formula after that." Klein shook his head, and thought of Rowling's profound family tradition, and he perked up.
There might not be any subsequent recipes for the Fortune Teller's Potion elsewhere, but it's hard to say for sure here at Jack's place.
Upon hearing this, Rowling gave an "I knew it" expression. He found a piece of paper and pen from under the coffee table and quickly wrote a few lines. He then handed it to Klein and said, "Here, the potion formula for a Sequence 7 magician. It's worth being my student, isn't it?"
Klein was stunned for a moment as he looked at the magician's potion formula he had easily obtained. Then, his heart warmed, and he couldn't help but smile and said, "It's definitely worth it."
Klein then glanced at the ingredients for the Joker Potion in the box. Thinking of the connection between the mysterious gray fog and time travel, he couldn't help but remind him, "Teacher, I think Mr. Lucifer has some truth to his words. It would be better for you to digest the Diviner's Potion as soon as possible to advance."
After thinking for a moment, Klein added, "After all, I've already digested the Diviner's potion. If I were to be promoted to Clown, my Sequence would be higher than yours, Teacher."
"Have you digested the fortune-teller potion? You were promoted a month ago, what innate fortune-teller holy body?" Rowling looked at Klein in feigned surprise, his surprise mixed with a hint of disappointment, like a squirrel whose winter pine cones were snatched away.
But he quickly regained his spirits and said, "Just wait, I'm only a little short of the promotion. Besides, I don't have to wait for the Nighthawks' process, so I'll definitely be promoted before you."
……
Regardless of his mood, life must go on as usual. After his encounter with Lucifer, Klein naturally continued his life as a Nighthawk. Two days later, Klein discovered that his sister's friend, Elizabeth, was haunted by a vengeful spirit. After reporting the matter to Dunn, Klein, Frye, and the others traveled to the small town of Ramde to exorcise the spirit. There, they discovered a portrait that resembled Mr. Azik.
Klein, who knew and trusted Azik better than his contemporaries in the original novel, naturally chose to write a letter to report the matter to Mr. Azik.
Afterwards, Klein chose to divine the Sun Badge, a sealed artifact, in the gray fog, and almost blew himself up, but it was a blessing in disguise as he gained some knowledge.
That night, Klein once again went to the town of Ramde with Mr. Azik and found the grave of Mr. Azik's son. Only then did he discover that the skull of Mr. Azik's son had been taken away. The person who took the skull seemed to be one of the people who made Klein's fate so inconsistent.
Because of this incident, Azik regained a small part of his memory, and his relationship with Klein took a step further. He also vowed to find the mastermind behind this incident.
After Klein finished his work and returned home, he heard the prayer again. It was the prayer he had heard before, coming from the young man who spoke Giant language.
This time, Klein, who had already learned Giant language, finally understood what the other party was saying. He chose to pull him up into the gray fog, only to discover that the other party seemed to come from a strange place with no sunlight and no seven gods. It was suspected to be the God-forsaken land recorded in ancient books.
The young man Derrick came from the Silver City in the God-forsaken Land and vowed to turn into the sun to save the Silver City.
This also led to the other party choosing to use "Sun" as his code name after joining the Tarot Club.
After Klein sent Derrick the Little Sun away and left the gray fog to prepare for bed, he discovered that Dunn had appeared in his dream, not for any other reason but to eat his dinner and act out his nightmare.
Klein: ...
Captain, let me remind you that this is not how you are supposed to act!
Klein's dream of having no dinner to eat was so shattering that he could only change it into a beautiful dream after Dunn left the dream, ending this rich and colorful day.
The next day, afternoon.
Klein arrived above the gray fog before three o'clock to prepare for the upcoming Tarot Club.
Although only a week had passed since the last Tarot Club, two new members had been added during that week, bringing the total from three to five. This was a significant increase in membership, and Klein, the organizer of the party, didn't know whether he should be relieved or not.
Regardless, Klein began preparing for the gathering according to procedure. He first pulled the new member, Sun Derek, above the gray fog and introduced him to his honorific name, the Tarot Club's procedures, and other basic knowledge.
After finishing the science briefing, Klein took out his pocket watch and checked the time. At three o'clock in the afternoon, he pulled Justice Audrey, the Hanged Man Alger, and Emperor Luo Lin into the gray fog.
"This is the new member, Mr. Sun."
"This is the new member, 'Mr. Emperor'."
