Chapter 61 "Leader" Attacks

Chapter 61 "Leader" Attacks

Bernadette had a strong premonition that if she participated in what Odysseus would do next, she would definitely gain something.

So she first went to Odysseus's laboratory in the suburbs, and then according to the address Odysseus gave, she sent him to 77 Hilton Avenue.

Odysseus knew that although Bernadette seemed to have left just now, she must still be watching him.

He did not hide it and went to the basement to wear the "leader's" clothes. He guessed that Bernadette had already known that he was the "leader" through the "invisible servants".

Using the "teleportation array" in the basement, we arrived at No. 199 Hairun Avenue.

As soon as he arrived in the basement, he heard sounds of fighting coming from the direction of the living room. Odysseus was slightly stunned. It was the first time someone came to his door.

He drew his pistol and quickly went to the living room, where he saw five intruders who had already subdued two waiters and were fighting with a stranger who was about to be subdued.

Odysseus fired a shot into the ground at the feet of an intruder.

Call ~
A small fireball appeared on the ground, but it quickly went out because there was no combustible material.

The sudden gunshot startled the five intruders.

Odysseus pointed his gun at them and said, "There are exactly five bullets left."

Kapin's subordinates suddenly received a pursuit order today. They didn't have time to bring their guns, so they had to slowly raise their hands.

Odysseus said to the stranger, "Use their belts to bind their hands."

The stranger immediately stepped forward and, seemingly quite skilled at this, quickly tied the man up. Odysseus continued to point his gun at the intruder and asked the waiter, "What's the matter with the signal?"

Based on the theory that spirituality exists in the form of waves, Odysseus referred to the principles of communication equipment before the time travel and invented a signal transmitter.

When the waiter presses the button, Odysseus's modified pocket watch will light up.

However, at present, only this extremely simple signal transmission can be carried out. Information such as voice and images cannot be transmitted, and even coded information such as telegrams cannot be transmitted.

The two waiters were only knocked to the ground. An intruder cornered them and they were not seriously injured.

At this moment, one of them was holding his stomach, while the other limped over. Just as they were about to report to the "chief", the stranger had already said, "Hello, Mr. 'chief'. I am Baker, the assistant of 'Lion'. I am here to ask for help on behalf of 'Lion'."

Odysseus looked at the stranger and asked, "Has the Lion been captured by the Capenians?"

He wondered, "When is Klein going to act? Why hasn't Capin been killed yet?"

"Yes." Baker breathed a sigh of relief. This saved him the trouble of explaining.

Odysseus thought for a second or two and then handed the gun to one of the waiters: "Watch them. Shoot anyone who moves."

Then he asked another waiter to call the police.

Finally, he said to Baker, "Wait a moment, I'll go get some weapons."

Seeing that the "leader" didn't refuse at all, Baker finally breathed a sigh of relief: "Thank you for your help."

Odysseus quickly walked to the basement and asked as he opened the magic circle he carried with him, "Are you still there?"

A faint voice said, "Yes."

That's good.

Odysseus injected spirituality into the magic circle and took out seven cold weapons from the "Wilderness of Knowledge".

He knew that Bernadette would definitely be able to sense the peculiarity of this magic circle, but at her level she certainly couldn't tell that this magic circle was related to the "Wilderness of Knowledge".

Sure enough, Bernadette said, "This space formation is also very special."

"Of course." Odysseus pretended not to care and put away the magic circle drawn on the cloth. He quickly walked to the living room with his weapons and found a suitcase to put them in.

After calling Baker, the two of them boarded a rented carriage and headed to the Backlund Mechanical Research Institute.

In the carriage, Odysseus opened the suitcase and checked the seven weapons. They were a sword, a knife, an exquisite metal crossbow, 20 exquisite arrows, two small axes of different colors, a metal fist, and an ebony cane. These were the weapons Odysseus considered useful in different situations.

He did not bring the "Flame Arrow" because this time he wanted to rely on the power of the "Mechanical Heart", a gun that Maric had used before.

While checking the weapons, Odysseus asked Baker when the "Lion" was captured and some details.

"We are about to find clues about the buyer." Baker narrated: "The buyer of the slaves is very mysterious. We have been investigating for a week and have not found any clues.

"But during today's surveillance, Mr. Byron...oh, that's 'Lion'. He noticed something strange in the 'Slave Warehouse' and thought he would be able to find out who the buyer was today?

"But we were discovered by the other side. We were hiding very well and hadn't been discovered for such a long time..."

Odysseus glanced at Baker, who had a puzzled expression, and thought to himself: It's very likely that you were discovered because the buyer noticed something was wrong.

Soon, the carriage arrived at the Backlund Mechanical Research Institute. Odysseus, holding a cane, asked Beck to wait outside with the suitcase containing weapons.

After entering the Backlund Mechanical Research Society, Odysseus quickly found Max and explained the situation to him before saying, "I'd like to borrow a carriage from the Mechanical Heart."

"Okay." Max said, "I'll send two people..."

Capin's reputation was not good throughout Backlund, and the "Mechanical Heart" was happy to help.

"No need." Odysseus refused, "I'll go negotiate with Kapin first. If that doesn't work, you can come forward."

"That's good, this way we both have room for maneuver." Max said, and immediately asked someone to prepare the carriage.

After boarding the carriage with the "Mechanical Holy Emblem", Odysseus sat quietly in the carriage and rushed to Kapin's residence.

Baker couldn't help but ask, "Mr. 'Chief', you, you couldn't find reinforcements just now?"

"Found it." Odysseus said lightly. The "Mechanical Holy Emblem" on this carriage is the greatest reinforcement.

And with Bernadette by her side, there won't be any danger.

"But...but..."

Odysseus smiled and said, "Relax, the three of us are enough."

Bell was stunned and looked at Odysseus: "Three people?"

There are clearly only two people here, so does that include the driver? Is the driver from the Mechanical Research Society so powerful?

Odysseus did not explain and simply closed his eyes to rest.

The carriage drove for about half an hour and arrived at a villa with an iron gate. This was Kapin's residence.

It was already dark at this time. Odysseus rubbed his stomach. He was already starving, but he had no time to eat.

Several guards outside the gate stopped the carriage. Odysseus opened the window and said, "I want to see your boss, Capin."

A guard came forward politely and asked, "Sir, what is your name? Also, please take off your mask."

"'Chief,'" Odysseus said again, "Don't take off the mask."

"Chief? I haven't heard of it." The guard's attitude changed: "Take off the mask, and I will help you report it."

Odysseus picked up his cane and handed the suitcase to Baker: "I should have stopped talking to them."

He paused and said, "You will follow behind in a carriage later."

Before Baker could react, Odysseus had already gotten out of the car: "Don't you know how to protect other people's privacy?"

As he spoke, he kicked the guard away and he hit the iron railing door.
