Mystery: Big Alarm Clock Ghroth Path

Chapter 112 Initial Trust

Chapter 112 Initial Trust

"injured?"

Roger frowned immediately.

Although Alice Yeeman is a new generation musical actor of DeWalker Music Company, she often plays the leading role in some important dramas because of her unique voice and stage presence.

The same is true of this performance targeting the royal family, in which she plays a central role in at least two acts.

"Yes, she fell down the stairs in front of her house last night. I heard that her right arm was fractured, and she was taken to the hospital by her neighbor.

"What should I do? There's not much time left until the performance, and it's impossible to find a suitable replacement actor now..."

Jeffrey said with a sad face.

"Mr. Jeffrey, please don't worry. I'll go see Miss Alice after the rehearsal. Which hospital is she in?"

Roger comforted Jeffrey and then asked.

"It's at the Medical College Hospital, not far from here. I just came back from there this morning."

Jeffrey replied.

The Medical College Hospital was a subsidiary of Backlund Medical College and was located in the Hillston District, not far from Miss Alice's home.

"Ok."

Roger nodded and went back to rehearsal.

After finishing work, Roger went to the restaurant of DeWalker Music Company to pack some of Alice's favorite food, and then bought some fruits imported from Intis as a gift.

He took the subway for 4 pence, rode two stops to the Medical College Hospital, and saw Alice Yeman lying in bed in Ward 2 of the orthopedic department.

"Mr. Jones, what brings you here?"

As Roger expected, Alice was a little surprised to see him. She obviously didn't expect him to come.

"I heard from Mr. Jeffrey that you were injured, so I came to see you."

"Thanks……"

Alice was stunned for a moment, and then her eyes turned red.

"Can you tell me what happened?"

Roger asked as he glanced at her right arm which was covered in plaster and bandages.

"Well... I'm a little embarrassed to say that I ran out in the middle of the night and missed a step on the stairs and fell.

"You said, why did I have to fall at this critical moment instead of earlier? That performance is a rare opportunity."

Alice sighed with an awkward expression.

Sleepwalking again...

Roger made a judgment in his heart. Instead of trying to continue asking Alice for confirmation, he turned around and talked about himself.

"Hey, actually, I've done stupid things like this before... When I was a kid, I lived on Daffodil Street. You know, the one in the west district of Tingen City."

Alice nodded firmly when she heard Roger talking about his hometown.

Seeing this, Roger continued:

"I had a sleepwalking problem at the time, and I would often drift off to strange places.

“I actually ran out into the street once and was hit by a cab… and broke my leg.

"Goddess, luckily I met a doctor who is good at setting bones, otherwise I would probably become a cripple."

At this point, Roger shook his head exaggeratedly.

When Alice heard Roger's words, her mouth opened wide in surprise.

"Have you recovered from your sleepwalking problem now?"

she asked.

"I continued to have this problem until I was 17, when I met a doctor that autumn who cured me of my sleepwalking."

Roger had a look of reminiscence on his face.

Alice heard this, her lips moved slightly, and then she sighed:

“To be honest, my situation is similar to yours.

"But I haven't recovered yet. I still wander off to strange places while I'm asleep. I even once ran into a locked utility room. I don't even know how I got in...

"I ran out again last night and broke my arm at the door.

"When I was at Tingen, my brother Lampard was so worried about it that he would often get up in the middle of the night to take me back to bed."

Speaking of Lampard, Alice's voice gradually became quieter.

At this moment, she suddenly heard Roger say:
"Perhaps I can share with you the doctor's prescription. It cured my sleepwalking, and maybe it can cure yours too."

He spoke incoherently, giving Alice hope while observing her reaction.

Hearing this, Alice raised her head suddenly: "Really?"

There was a glimmer of hope in her eyes.

Very much looking forward to it...very curious...this shows that Lampard has not exposed her to the "Apprentice" formula.

Roger pretended to recall something before saying:

"Yes, but I have to go back and look for that prescription, but I'm not sure if I can find it."

"Thank you very much." Alice thanked him sincerely.

"Here, this is your favorite eel and Fenapot noodles."

Roger pointed to the food on the table.

"Thank you, that's very kind of you."

"I can't bear to see my fellow countrymen suffer. After all, hospital food... those who understand will understand."

When he spoke last, Roger lowered his voice deliberately.

The two of them smiled knowingly.

“By the way, I don’t think you need to worry too much about your arm.

"It's just a broken bone. It will heal soon. Believe me, the blessings I send are always accurate."

Before leaving, Roger said mysteriously.

"Thank you for your good wishes." Alice also smiled, and her complexion was much better than when Roger first came.

"Will do."

Roger nodded and turned to say goodbye.

Roger was quite satisfied with the results of this meeting with Alice.

He did not rashly tell the other party about the apprentice's potion, nor did he inquire about the other party's family background and possible sealed objects. Instead, he first made some tests and laid the groundwork, gradually winning the other party's favor and trust.

After all, Alice is just an ordinary person now, and bringing her into the world of extraordinary people requires extreme caution.

This requires not only the right timing, but also full mutual trust between both parties.

Coming out of the hospital, Roger couldn't help but sniffle.

“The smog is getting worse…”

……

After returning to 15 Minsk Street, Roger ran into Klein who had just returned home.

"How's it going? Did catching the fried chicken go well?"

He gave a teasing smile and winked at Klein.

"Don't even mention it. If I took the contents of this camera to St. Samuel's Church, it would probably be considered blasphemy."

Klein nodded at the camera his employer had lent him and replied jokingly.

"By the way, have you ever been to an underground Beyonder gathering before?"

Roger pointed to his ear, indicating the place where Klein had previously purchased the "Filthy Words" spell.

"Yes, are you going too?"

Klein nodded slightly and asked back.

"Well, I want to ask if there is any medicine that can help with bone recovery, and sell some things by the way."

Roger remembered that there was a "pharmacist" in the Extraordinary gathering place behind the "Brave Bar".

As expected, Klein nodded again:

“There’s a pharmacist there, you can try your luck.

"By the way, you mentioned bones...did you break any bones?"

He looked Roger up and down with some surprise, confirming his "integrity".

"It's Alice Yeaman. She sleepwalked out of the house last night and broke her arm."

Roger replied.

"I see……"

Klein recalled everything he had read in the "Dream Divination" and stopped asking questions.

Soon, under Klein's guidance, the two arrived at the "Brave Bar" on Tiemen Street.

 End of today.
