Mystery: Big Alarm Clock Ghroth Path

Chapter 89: De La Hoya's Rat

Chapter 89: De La Hoya's Rat
Before the ceremony began, Mr. C handed Roger a large wooden box and asked him to keep it for a while.

Roger took the wooden box, and the ability of "Oneness of All Things" was instantly activated. Within a few seconds, a cold wind was howling in the secret room, and it seemed that a large number of spirits appeared at the same time!
This was the special spirit summoning magic that Roger had used previously in the town of Ramde, causing a large number of departed spirits to reappear from history.

Under Roger's deliberate influence, these spirits moved closer to Mr. C together.

As if sensing the right time, Mr. C took out a bottle of gray-black potion and poured it into his mouth.

With a "bang", Mr. C turned into a bloody mist, and almost everything in the room was blown into pieces. Only Roger was still standing there quietly.

With his spiritual vision, he could see that in the boundless sea of spirits, the pale face of Mr. C was constantly floating up and down, seemingly in great pain.

As time went by, Mr. C's spirit gradually gained the upper hand in this fight. His face and figure began to become clearer, and the originally scattered flesh and blood began to gather again.

It seemed as if some force was guiding this gathering of flesh and blood, allowing Mr. C to reappear starting from the head, followed by the neck, torso and limbs.

Soon, the "shepherd" was reborn.

Mr. C's new skin color was much whiter than before. The newly promoted "shepherd" walked up to Roger and took out a set of clean clothes from the wooden box and put them on.

"Congratulations on your advancement to Sequence 5."

Roger said with a smile.

"All this is thanks to you."

Mr. C placed his hand on his chest and bowed respectfully.

Although he had not received any official notice from Xesma, he was now completely convinced of Roger's abilities and recognized his immediate superior.

"Work hard, you have a bright future." Roger patted his shoulder.

"Yes. As for the two magical items promised earlier, I have already made some progress and can give them to you within three days." Mr. C continued.

"Okay, thank you for your hard work."

Roger briefly explained the recent arrangements to Mr. C, then left him to adapt to his new abilities while he temporarily left the underground secret room and returned home along the same route.

"You smell of blood. Did you kill someone again?"

Bandit used his sense of smell to immediately notice the abnormality on Roger.

"Why use '又'..."

Roger shook his head. "I just helped a friend advance to Sequence 5."

"Sequence 5, wow, isn't that even more powerful than you?"

Only the Sequence 9 "Star Cat" candidate cat couldn't help but yearn.

"Maybe, but that's just one of my subordinates."

Roger smiled, and under Bandit's stunned gaze, he went down to the basement storage room and locked the door.

He turned on the gas lamp, picked up his pen and wrote a letter to the "Dark Saint" Xesma.

In that letter, Roger used the rhetoric he had anticipated to propose that Mr. C become his direct subordinate, and used the philosophy of the Aurora Society to demonstrate the rationality of this request.

He placed the letter in an envelope, then extinguished the gas, lit a candle instead, and set up his workbench as a simple ritual magic altar.

Roger silently recited the summoning spell of the Xesma Messenger:
"I! Summon in my name: the spirit that roams the higher realms, the eye that devours shadows, the messenger of the 'Dark Saint' Xesma."

After a while, the eye without white emerged again from the deep darkness outside the candlelight.

The eyes blinked at him, as if saying hello.

"Quite cute."

Roger jokingly said in his heart, and then handed the letter to the "big-eyed guy":
"Please help me bring it to Lord Kesma."

The big eyeball clamped the letter between its eyelashes and quickly disappeared. In less than a minute, the big eyeball reappeared and threw a beautiful note to Roger.

Roger quickly picked it up and saw only one line of words written on it:

"Okay, I'll let C know."

Seeing this, Roger breathed a sigh of relief.

Because of the influence of the "True Creator", Roger was not worried that Xesma would disagree with his request.

In fact, as long as he didn't make requests that were too blasphemous and outrageous, the Aurora Society would do its best to meet his needs.

"Okay, now I can prepare to summon my own messenger."

Roger slightly modified the altar's layout, then used water and coarse salt to sanctify his usual silver knife, creating a "spiritual wall" around himself.

He then entered a meditative state and recited the summoning spell he had prepared in advance:

"I! In my name I call:

"A spirit wandering in the void, a friendly creature that can be driven, a weak being willing to be my messenger."

This is a classic three-part summoning spell, which limits the characteristics of the summoned object to spiritual creatures, those that are friendly to humans and willing to serve humans, and those that are willing to become Roger's messenger.

On the other hand, in order to prevent the summoning of any dangerous creatures, he specifically stipulated in the third paragraph of the spell that the summoned creature must be "weak".

After Roger repeated it silently several times, his spiritual intuition finally responded and he opened his eyes to look at the darkness in front of him.

From there, a bird emerged with an illusory figure, but with three legs, three pairs of wings, a short beak, and somewhat like a mutated peacock.

"This mouth is too short, it doesn't seem suitable for delivering letters..."

Roger hesitated, apologized to the three-legged peacock and let it go.

He then summoned two different spirit beings, but was unsatisfied with either.

It was not until the fourth summon that a white rodent-like creature about the size of two palms, resembling both a mouse and a rabbit, emerged from the void in front of Roger.

The rodent was carrying a cloth bag on its back that seemed to be made of silk. Its blood-red eyes looked at Roger with spirituality and curiosity.

“This one seems good.”

Roger thought about it and asked the other party for a contract.

"Yes, 5 different types of nuts at a time."

The "rabbit" was quite straightforward, and the reward was quite cheap, which Roger could totally accept.

"Then it's settled."

The two parties successfully reached a contract, and Roger also learned the name of the messenger: "The Rat of De La Hoya".

As the "De La Hoya Rat" messenger left, Roger also removed the "spiritual wall" and returned upstairs again.

"You smell like rat."

When Bandit saw Roger coming up, he immediately narrowed his eyes and looked alert.

This made Roger slightly startled:
"It seems to be true. The pet is a cat and the messenger is a mouse. Is this a coincidence?

"It seems we can't let Bandit and the De La Hoya Rat meet in the future. Otherwise, who knows what kind of embarrassment will arise..."

The corners of his mouth twitched, and he made a few casual excuses before going back to sleep.

The third update, more to come.
