Mystery: From the Shadow World
Chapter 24 The 2st Tarot Session
Chapter 24 The Second Tarot Club
The next morning, Zouteland Street.
Philip got out of the rented carriage and came to the Blackthorn Security Company. He pushed the door and walked in. He saw Rosanne picking up the cup and savoring the coffee.
Out of politeness, he stood there and waited until the other person took a sip of the cup before saying, "Luo Shan, good morning."
"Good morning, Lawrence." Luo Shan said with a smile in her eyes: "I heard from the captain that you will officially start your civilian work next."
She was a bit too happy to say that. Philip's eyelids twitched, and he nodded in response. Then he continued to ask, "Where is the captain? I need to ask him for something."
"I just took Klein downstairs."
Luo Shan finished speaking and took another sip of coffee.
go down?
Klein has already taken medicine?
Philip nodded and walked into the inner room. Behind him, Roshan called out expectantly, "Lawrence, I've asked Old Neil to arrange an exam for you later. You must do your best!"
"What!?" Philip asked in surprise.
Luo Shan coughed awkwardly twice and said, "The captain said that I can arrange your work based on everyone's situation, so I want to test your actual situation."
Philip was speechless, knowing that he couldn't get anything out of him, so he decided to ask Old Neil later.
He came to the inner room and walked down the stairs into the basement, but on the way he ran into Klein who was about to return to the Blackthorn Security Company.
The two looked at each other, nodded to each other, and walked away without saying anything more.
When Philip arrived at the underground, he saw Dunn standing at the intersection, about to turn back. He stared at Philip as he gradually approached him, and said with a deep look in his eyes:
"Lawrence, what's going on?"
"Captain, regarding the merit application for the madman's extraordinary materials, can I still regret it?"
This answer seemed to be beyond Dunn's expectations. He was stunned for a few seconds, and then the depth in his gray eyes became even deeper than before. "Do you want to exchange it for something, or do you want to accumulate the merits you have gained this time?"
"Golden pounds."
There was silence for a few seconds.
As Philip observed cautiously from the corner of his eye, Dunn's mouth corners unconsciously curled up slightly, but quickly calmed down, making him almost think it was an illusion.
At this time, Dunn's calm, gentle, and somewhat soft voice sounded: "In principle, it is not possible. After all, the application has been submitted and approved, and even the materials have been distributed."
"But," he smiled, "since it's been distributed, I can be responsible for the dispatch. Who knows if we might need this in the future?"
"So?" Philip blinked.
"I'll take you to see Mrs. Orianna and ask her for 600 pounds," said Dunn.
After saying this, he took Philip away and returned to the upper corridor. In the outermost office on the right side of the inside angle, he met Mrs. Orianna, who was in charge of financial management of the security company.
She looked to be in her thirties, with a delicate and elegant smile on her face. After hearing Dunn's request, she nodded and said to Philip, "Do you have your own account?"
"Account?"
"You need to prepare first." Orianna smiled, "Otherwise, even if all the cash at Blackthorn Security Company is added together, I'm afraid we won't be able to raise 600 pounds." "Sorry, I was negligent."
Philip bowed slightly in apology.
At the same time, he also deeply engraved in his mind the idea of going to the bank to open an account after get off work. This matter even took priority over the Tarot meeting at 3 pm.
After all, he could attend the Tarot Club every week, but he felt uncomfortable every minute and every second because he didn't get the 600 pounds.
After the matter was temporarily suspended, Philip watched them return to the office, then went back downstairs along the stairs to Old Neil, who was on duty in the armory, and asked him questions about the "exam".
"Oh, that one."
After hearing this, Old Neil smiled helplessly and explained, "Roshan seems to have heard from Dunn that you have sufficient knowledge of the occult, so she wants you to pass the exam to prove it."
"If you do pass, you can skip the occult studies course and will be added to the rotating roster for the armory, responsible for guarding the armory all night. Take it easy, Lawrence. You'll have a day off after this."
Philip said expressionlessly: "I feel that my occult knowledge is not solid enough."
"I think so too." Old Neil nodded in agreement, and then asked about the knowledge that Philip had mastered.
After hearing the answer, he was silent for several seconds before continuing:
"If you've mastered all of these, it means you have a good foundation. Next, you just need to master Elvish, Dragon Language, and some ritual magic."
"Besides that, I don't have much to teach you. Of course, that doesn't include some of my special tricks, hehe."
Finally, based on Philip's wishes and Roxanne's expectations, Old Neil successfully reached a compromise and set up a one-month occult course, which would take two hours every weekday afternoon.
The result was still two hours. Philip sighed, and thought that it would not be a bad thing to learn more knowledge, so he agreed directly. After discussing the specific time, which was between 3:30 and 5:30, he returned to the upper floor to familiarize himself with the work.
Two fifty-five p.m.
As the "da da da" keyboard tapping sound stopped, Philip leaned back, stroked the upper half of his face with his palm, and sighed twice as if tired: "Ah"
He took a few deep breaths and said to Luo Shan, who was looking at him and no longer had the energy to put on a resentful expression, "Luo Shan, I've finished my work. I'm going to take a rest first."
"Hmm," Luo Shan replied weakly, resting her hand on her chin, and then muttered:
"I never thought that one day I would be sitting here working. Why don't Conley and Viola work as clerical staff anymore? Hey~"
"These are the last few things left. After I'm done, I'm going to get some sleep before my shift at the armory."
Philip gave a perfunctory smile, propped himself up, opened the door of the clerical staff office, walked into the lounge across the corridor, lay down on the sofa bed in the corner, pretending to take a nap.
As time passed bit by bit, crimson light suddenly surged like a tide, engulfing his entire body.
Above the gray fog, there is a palace so magnificent that it seems to be inhabited by the giant king.
Philip's vision gradually became clearer, and he saw Miss Justice, who had smooth blonde hair, across from him, and Mr. Hanged Man, who had long dark blue hair and could smell the seafood.
At the same time, there is the unfathomable, mysterious and unknown great being sitting at the head, "Mr. Fool."
