Mystery: Who has seen my brother?

Chapter 10: Fellow Villagers Meeting

Chapter 10: Fellow Villagers Meeting

"squeak-"

The shabby wooden door slowly moved with a teeth-grinding sound, revealing the darkness inside the room.

Elizabeth followed Eve closely and moved to the side of the table. Eve brought the candle in her hand close to the candlestick on the table to light it, and then placed the candle in her hand on the table.

The light from two candles could barely illuminate the small room, let alone one.

"Miss Elizabeth, I'm going back." Eve waved to Elizabeth.

Elizabeth nodded, released her hand that was holding the corner of Eve's clothes, and waved goodbye to her, saying, "Be careful on the road." She watched Eve turn around and walk outside, but the candle was still on her table. She hurriedly shouted, "Please wait a moment, Miss Eve, you forgot to take your candle." While shouting, she picked up the candle and ran towards Eve.

"No, no," Eve pointed to her eyes and said, "My night vision is very good. I can see without candles. You can keep them."

"How can that be possible?" Elizabeth refused without hesitation. "Such a valuable item, even if Miss Eve doesn't need it, she can still exchange it for a lot of food."

Eve was stunned for a moment, and said strangely: "Or you can return it to me tomorrow?" She glanced behind Elizabeth and saw the only candlelight struggling in the darkness, swaying slightly as if it would go out at any time.

Elizabeth shook her head and said, "Please don't embarrass me, Miss Eve."

Eve was silent and took the candle from Elizabeth.

"I'm sorry to refuse your kindness."

"It's okay, it's okay," Eve waved her hand. "Miss Elizabeth, go to bed early. I'm going back."

"Well," Elizabeth clutched the corner of her clothes, "be careful on the road."

Eve watched Elizabeth enter the room before turning and leaving. She glanced at the short candle in her hand and blew it out with a whoosh.

"Brother Candle, I never thought you'd have such a glorious day." Eve pinched the candle between two fingers and held it up to her eyes, sighing, "Life is truly unpredictable!"

Eve muttered in her heart: "If one day, I...wait!"

Eve stood there in a daze, suddenly remembering that she had not yet received her team uniform and weapon.

"What should I do?" Eve was going crazy in her heart. She started skipping work before she even started working!

The red moon hung in the sky, and the blood-red moonlight illuminated the sleeping earth. There was no other sound except the chirping of insects, and even the birds had fallen asleep.

"Oh," Eve sighed, "Eric must have gone to bed a long time ago. I should go find him tomorrow morning and apologize properly."

While thinking about the girl, he quickened his pace back to his room and threw himself onto the bed.

The bed was not soft, even a little hard, with only a thin mattress on it, not even a sheet, but Eve felt extremely comfortable. She hadn't even had a good sleep before, and since Ouroboros was not here today, she could occupy the entire bed.

Lying on the bed, the girl felt her limbs become soft and weak, her consciousness became more and more blurred, and soon she fell into a dream playing chess with Zhou Gong.

No, that's not right...why is this Duke Zhou dressed so stylishly?
...

……

.........

Damn it! Goddess of Doom!
Eve sat up with a quick somersault. She looked around, the platinum-plated church filled with a sacred religious feeling. Wasn't this the place where she had seen the sun god that time? The cross behind her still stood tall, but the platinum throne it guarded had become a sofa.

That’s right, a sofa. In front of the sofa is a coffee table filled with all sorts of desserts, including tiramisu and cream puffs. These are exquisite and small, making them look very appetizing.

Such a configuration is pleasing to the eye when placed in a home, coffee shop or other places.

But it seems out of place in such a sacred and religious church.

What was even more awkward was that the sun god who was supposed to be sitting on the throne was now lying on the sofa, his entire body sunken in it.

"I must be dreaming." Eve patted her cheek and twisted it again. It didn't hurt, and she immediately breathed a sigh of relief. "I am dreaming." Then she fell backwards and sank into the sofa with the Sun God.

"What's your name?" Eve lay on the sofa, sighed comfortably, and said with squinted eyes.

The Sun God raised an eyebrow and said, "Mikhail."

Mikhail... No! I don't even know the ancient sun god's name, so how could I possibly say His name in a dream?
And this dream is too clear. Is it normal for someone to know that they are dreaming?

Eve immediately sat up in a dignified posture, and glanced at the Goddess of Doom across from her. She remembered that the Goddess of Doom seemed to have the ability to dream.

So, she was pulled into a dream.

"Don't be nervous," said the Goddess of Misfortune, putting down her refreshments. "It's just a gathering of fellow countrymen."

"Don't be nervous, don't be nervous, haha." Eve waved her hands and said with a dry laugh.

"I know you're a little wary of me because of Fregola," Amanisis turned her eyes from behind her black veil. A calmness spread from the girl. Eve felt her body and mind calm down, and the tension was squeezed out of her heart by the calmness. "But since you've come here, it means you still trust me. After all..."

The Goddess of Misfortune paused. Eve looked at Amanisis curiously. The beautiful woman hidden under her veil raised the corners of her mouth in a distinct smile. "We are from the same hometown."

"Yes, fellow countryman!" Eve nodded vigorously to show her support. She chose to believe Amanisis just because he was from the same country as her. It was such a simple and brainless reason.

"Wow, I'm so moved I'm about to cry." Mikhail got up and whispered in Eve's ear. Eve subconsciously touched her eyes, and her fingers were dry without a trace of water.

"Hahaha." This is Mikhail's laughter.

"Tsk," Amanisis rolled her eyes at Him. It was hard to imagine that the elegant goddess of misfortune would make such an indecent gesture. "You don't look like a god at all." She reproached Him, but there was no trace of disgust in her tone.

Eve suddenly felt that the lofty image of God in her mind was about to collapse, especially a certain God who appeared to be extremely high-class, mysterious and powerful.

"You don't have to pay attention to him. He's just a face-obsessed person with a bad taste." As Amanisis said this, he pushed the dessert towards Eve, indicating that Eve should taste it.

Eve picked up an exquisite chocolate cake and took a bite. It was soft and delicious. For Eve, who had been eating flatbread for several days, it was simply a delicacy.

"Where do these desserts come from?" Eve asked curiously. Can cakes be made in this world? Maybe, after all, there are candles, paper, clocks and so on.

Mikhail puffed out his chest proudly and said, "Of course I just imagined it."

"Huh?" Eve looked at Mikhail in surprise and said, "I thought you were the Sun."
