Mystery: Who has seen my brother?
Chapter 196 Sharon and Maric
Chapter 196 Sharon and Maric
Night is often the busiest time in the pub. Workers who have worked hard all day finally have time to use their meager savings to enjoy the rare pleasure, and their brains paralyzed by alcohol temporarily forget about work.
Even some "rich" tramps would come to the pub with one or two copper pennies and order a glass of cheap beer. They would find a corner to huddle in, hold up the glass and gulp the beer down into their stomachs. Then they would fall asleep in the corner regardless of whether they were drunk or not. If they were drunk, they were drunk, and if they were not drunk, they were drunk too. As long as they did not bother others, no one would care.
The smell of cigarettes, alcohol, sweat, and food, all mixed together, drifted in the pub and penetrated people's noses.
Eve walked in front and entered the tavern first.
The exceptionally beautiful girl entered the noisy tavern without causing any commotion. She continued to do her own thing as if she hadn't noticed him. Amidst the noise, a few curses and snoring could be heard from time to time, drowning out the other sounds.
Klein lagged behind Eve, walking behind her and entering the tavern. His eyes darted left and right, taking in the place.
As expected, there were two stages, one where a dog was catching a mouse, and the other where two boxers were fighting each other with fists.
Eve walked to the front of the counter and ordered two cheesesteaks and a Southville beer, one of which was to be taken away. She then waved back, signaling Klein to take the order.
Since the party was at the Brave Bar, Eve brought Klein and Ruirui there in advance and had dinner there at the same time.
Klein glanced at the menu and found that there were not many dishes. He looked through them one by one and finally ordered a cheese steak and Southville beer.
The bartender placed two glasses of beer on the counter and started wiping the glasses.
Eve lifted the handbag containing Ruirui and hung it on her arm. She picked up the beer, took a sip, and said, "Dinner is still a while away. Let's go play for a while first?"
"What are you playing?" Klein asked.
"Billiards, Texas Hold'em, or you can watch a game here." Eve pointed to the two tables in the middle of the tavern.
Pool? Texas Hold'em?
It must be you, the Great Emperor, again. You really don't leave any for those who come later... Klein complained in his heart and said casually, "Whatever."
"Let's play Texas Hold'em," Eve said, holding her glass. "Maybe we'll run into someone we know."
"acquaintance?"
"Well, Sharon, you've seen him." Eve, holding a Southwell beer, walked a step ahead of Klein and led him to the card room. "He's a student of a friend's. He sometimes watches Maric play cards here."
As they were talking, the two had already arrived in front of the card room. Eve turned sideways, put her ear close to the wooden door to listen to the sounds inside, then took two steps back and changed to another room to listen.
"What...are you doing?" Klein looked at Eve's furtive expression, unsure of what to say. He said speechlessly, "You look suspicious right now, you know that."
"I'm looking for Sharon," Eve straightened up, placed her free hand on the doorknob, and with a slight pressure pushed it back, revealing the scene inside the house. "Look, I found it."
Klein looked through the door and saw about a dozen people playing Texas Hold'em inside. There was also a blonde woman sitting nearby, gazing at the card table with her chin in her hand.
Hearing the sound of the door opening, the blonde lady immediately looked over and stood up after seeing them.
At the same time, a man wearing a black vest and a white shirt at the card table also stood up. After the man stood up, everyone else at the card table stopped what they were doing and stood there in a daze.
Klein frowned slightly. Aside from the man who stood up, everyone else at the table had an indescribable strange feeling.
He opened his clairvoyance and looked at the unusual people at the card table. Then, Klein saw a deep black. The auras of those people were all dark black!
This means that except for the man who stood up and the blonde lady, everyone else is a zombie.
The man in the white shirt took two steps forward. When he got closer, Klein saw that his eyes were filled with malice. He immediately became alert and his body tensed slightly.
As Klein observed them, Sharon and Maric also paid attention to Klein.
After seeing Eve push the door open, the two of them immediately stood up and immediately noticed Klein behind him.
A hint of surprise flashed through the minds of both of them, but they did not show it on their faces. They said respectfully:
"Good evening, Lady Eve."
"Good evening, good evening," Eve said with a smile, "Do you mind if I wait here for a while?"
"It's our pleasure," Sharon replied in her usual calm tone.
At the same time, Eve's handbag fluttered twice, making a slight noise, and then a black cat poked its head out of it.
She looked around with her brown eyes, put her front paws on the handbag, and jumped out of the bag with all four limbs at the same time.
Sharon's calm eyes flickered a little, and she said expressionlessly, "Good evening, Your Excellency Rarity."
Maric followed Sharon and offered his own greetings.
Ruirui answered one by one and jumped onto an empty chair, licked her front legs, and combed her messy hair.
"Do you want to play?" Eve briefly introduced both parties and then pointed at the card table and asked Klein.
Klein didn't hesitate and immediately shook his head to refuse. He had no interest in playing cards with zombies in the middle of the night.
Eve nodded, placed the Southwell beer on the card table, pulled over two chairs, handed one to Klein, and said, "I'll play for a while. You and Sharon can watch from the side, or go play something else."
Klein took the chair Eve handed him and sat next to Sharon. As he sat down, Klein quietly glanced at Sharon and Maric.
This Miss Sharon should have known Eve's identity, but she didn't seem interested in exploring their relationship. Furthermore, Klein noticed that this young lady seemed very reserved, like a delicate puppet at peace with the world.
As for Mr. Maric, Klein didn't know if he knew Eve's exact identity, but he didn't seem interested in exploring Klein's identity. However, he was more curious about Klein than Sharon. Furthermore, his emotions were much more open than Sharon's, though they were mostly malicious.
Klein suspected that Maric's malice might be related to his path, perhaps some characteristic of his path, possibly a demonic or alien path.
While Klein was thinking, several playing cards were placed on the table, and the game progressed little by little.
After winning two games and losing one, Eve paused, picked up her glass, stood up, and waved to Crane and Rarity, saying, "It should be done."
Eve leaned over and opened her handbag to Ruirui, and the black cat's slender body immediately jumped into the bag nimbly.
Sharon and Maric stood up and said goodbye to them respectfully.
