Chapter 70 Drama
Lanevus's breathing stagnated, a chill rising from his back, and the desire to survive surged into his heart like a tide.

He curled up his fingers, slightly bent his thumb, and placed his fingertips on the joints of his index fingers. Just as he was about to pinch them lightly twice, he felt the blade on his neck move.

A cold touch brushed past, as if urging Lanevus on.

Lanevus was stunned for a moment and subconsciously withdrew his finger.

"How can I prove that what you said is true? I haven't sensed the consciousness of the true Creator."

"You can wait until the true Creator's consciousness awakens. Then you'll know whether it's true or not. Oh, by the way, by then we won't be able to save you." Klein chuckled and said, "There's always a price to pay for obtaining the truth, isn't it?"

He looked at the two men in black before him and said carefully, "That ritual was told to me by a member of the Aurora Society. His name is Sirius Arypis."

Klein recalled the Aurora Society from his previous lessons. The Aurora Society was an organization that emerged one or two hundred years ago and believed in the True Creator. In that case, the divinity within Lanevus was most likely the divinity of the True Creator.

As he spoke, Lanevus looked up at the two men, observing them. The large black cloak enveloped them, making it impossible for Lanevus to discern any useful information.

But the two people's outfits are too unique, especially the one wearing a silver half-mask, so it is very easy to analyze his character.

He might be a bit flamboyant, but he's very calm. The mask is exquisite, embroidered with gold patterns, and it's obvious it's expensive. He seems to be a wealthy man. He doesn't mind showing off his unique qualities to others, and he's very confident in his own abilities.

The man holding the saber looked much more normal in comparison, and the sunglasses seemed to be something that someone else had asked him to wear.

There are many rich people, but not too many either. There are even fewer rich people who are so ostentatious and unique, so it is not difficult to find them.

The two people in front of him looked at him silently, as if waiting for him to continue.

Lanevus collected his thoughts and continued, "The ritual is to allow Megose to conceive the true Creator's child."

Klein and Leonard were shocked. They didn't expect that the Son of God would be involved.

"Your sincerity isn't enough," Klein said in a deep voice. "Be sincere to your friends. It's polite, sir."

Lanevus did not reveal many details of this incident.

"I'm a new member of the Aurora Society, recruited by Sirius. That's why Sirius told me the ritual. I was bewitched by him, hoping to gain the god's reward, so I prepared and completed the ritual." Lanerwus paused, trying to relax his stiff body, but the saber against his neck prevented him from moving easily. "After preparing the ritual, Hood Eugen hypnotized Megose, causing her to mistake the shadow of the True Creator for me, and she became pregnant with the True Creator's child."

"I believe my sincerity is sufficient," Lanevus said, staring intently at the two men before him. "So, sir, where are your manners? How are you going to save me?"

"Not enough," the man in black, who had been silent the entire time, suddenly spoke in a voice that sounded rather old. "Megose is just an ordinary person. Normally, she would have died during the ritual."

"This is indeed a low-probability event, but its probability is not zero. It just happened," Lanevus said grimly. If he hadn't succeeded, he wouldn't have ended up in this situation.

He thought of his miraculous luck afterwards, then laughed self-deprecatingly and said, "Perhaps the success of that ritual used up all my luck, which is why I'm so unlucky now."

Klein was silent for two seconds before opening his mouth and saying, "Tell the Night Watchman on duty about this. They will send you to the cathedral, and we will rescue you on the way."

To resolve Lanevus's situation, he would have to be sent to the Sanctuary. However, if Lanevus took the initiative and told the Nighthawks that he possessed the true Creator's divinity, the matter would be fully respected. The Sanctuary would then send someone to retrieve Lanevus. Furthermore, given Lanevus's character, he would never sell out the only person who could possibly save him. This would prevent the secret between him and Leonard from being exposed, while also ensuring that the Lanevus incident would receive full attention.

"What about the divinity?" Lanevus asked immediately, "What should I do with the divinity within me?"

"You'll know then."

"Sir, if you don't tell me," Lanevus said, "I'd find it hard to believe you."

Klein sneered hoarsely and said, "You don't have to believe it."

Lanevus' pupils constricted, and just as he was about to say something, he felt the cold touch on his neck disappear.

The man in black retracted his saber.

The two intruders ignored Lanevus and left Chanis Gate one after the other.

After closing the door, Klein pulled out a small, round mirror, half the size of his palm, from his pocket. Klein had used this mirror to infiltrate Blackthorn Security Company; otherwise, with his current skills, he wouldn't even be able to leave the apartment.

He reached out and tugged at Leonard's cloak, then raised the mirror in his hand.

Leonard thought for two seconds, then understood and took off all his disguises and handed them to Klein.

There is a risk of these things being discovered if they are left at Blackthorn Security Company.

Klein's hand paused as he took the saber. He didn't expect Leonard to have this.

He took the saber and examined it carefully.

In his previous life, Klein had browsed some information about sabers online. It was said that the blades of real sabers were usually gray, black, brown, etc., and would not gleam for the sake of concealment. However, the blade of Leonard's saber was bright silver and could even reflect light under the gas lamp.

Klein had never come into contact with the sabers of this world and didn't know what they looked like. He had only heard some of his classmates talk about them in college. The more famous sabers in this world were the Feysac Sabre and the Highland Sabre.

The Kingdom of Feysac believed in the God of War, and its citizens were all brave and skilled in battle. Their weapons were always excellent, and their sabers were world-renowned for their quality.

The Highlander sabers were known for something quite different: their blades were said to be forged from gold, a fact that impressed Klein immensely. However, even if this were true, the golden sabers were likely just collectible sabers.

Klein withdrew his thoughts. Holding Leonard's things in one hand, he extended his index finger with the other hand, tapped the mirror twice, and then pressed his fingertips hard against the mirror.

A huge suction force came from the mirror, as if there was a person standing behind the calm and smooth mirror who wanted to pull him into the mirror world.

Klein relaxed his body and let the suction pull him.

The resistance at his fingertips suddenly disappeared. Klein didn't retract his force in time, and his hand was suspended in the air above his room. He was standing in the mirror image of the room. If anyone entered the room, they would only see a floating hand.

As long as Klein takes a step forward, he can return to the real world.

Blackthorn Security Company

Leonard walked behind Chanis's door, a cup of coffee in his hand.

"Good evening," Leonard said in surprise when he saw Lanevus sitting up. "Why are you awake?"

Lanevus looked at the Night Watcher, who possessed the aura of a poet. He took a deep breath, suppressed his panic, and nodded, "Yes."

"Mr. Mitchell," Lanevus asked, "where did you go just now?"

"Uh... I took care of my personal hygiene issues," Leonard said tactfully.

Lanevus nodded, lifted the quilt and lay back down as if nothing had happened.

Leonard sipped his coffee while secretly observing Lanevus.

If Lanevus didn't reveal his divinity to him before sunrise, the old man would erase his memory, and he and Klein would start with Megose, using the ritual of the Heir of the Evil God to expose Lanevus.

1 minutes, 2 minutes, 3 minutes...

Lanevus suddenly sat up, gasping for breath, as if frightened by something.

"Sir, sir," Lanevus stumbled to his feet and rushed towards Leonard, his face filled with fear, saying, "Please save me!"

Leonard was stunned for a moment, then immediately asked, "What happened?"

"The True Creator!" Lanevus' eyes widened and he screamed in terror, "His consciousness resides within me!"
