Chapter 3 Human
At this moment, Karen began to doubt whether he was still in the Torres world. Could it be that he had traveled through time again while healing his wounds?
Karen fell back to the ground and started tracking the footprints. A red light flashed in her eyes, and a row of extremely clear small footprints appeared in her field of vision. This girl was obviously a novice among novices, and she had no awareness of secret whereabouts at all.

As a master-level magic arrow hunter, even if this is just a secondary job, in Karen's eyes, this mark is no different from a real person walking step by step in front of him.

Karen decided that he must first find a human settlement, because no matter what, the vampires are a race that needs to coexist with other creatures because they survive by sucking blood.

Compared to the blood of wild beasts, human blood is of course more to Karen's liking, and this is true for most vampires.

When it comes to food quality, Karen actually has very high requirements, otherwise he wouldn't throw the player away after just one sip. Even if he was extremely hungry, he wouldn't force himself to eat shit.

Following the player's footprints, Karen flew quickly. He felt that there was a high probability that he would find a human settlement later.

Because this player must have been summoned by a tester, and the tester is a time traveler who has lived in this world for sixteen years. If all testers are born and raised as babies like Karen, then the place where the testers are must be a human settlement.

Sixteen years, this number is very special. In most human countries in the world of Torres, sixteen years old is the age of adulthood, which makes it difficult for Karen not to have some guesses about it.

Following the footprints, Karen flew out of the jungle. Outside the jungle, not far from the wide coastline, there was indeed a human settlement. It looked like an outpost built after landing, not far from the jungle. No wonder this player would run to his "home". He was probably sent into the jungle to explore the way.

Karen circled in the sky and formed a first impression of this human settlement. It was not large, with only a few hundred people appearing. There were two three-masted sailboats outside, parked in a simple small harbor, which looked quite presentable.

The houses in the settlement are all wooden houses, built together in rows. They look very neat and are obviously built by felling trees nearby. The location of this settlement should have originally been part of this primitive jungle.

Wooden fences were also built outside the entire settlement as a protective measure. There were people on guard at several sentry posts, holding spears and wearing leather armor. The blood energy emanating from their bodies was quite strong. It was obvious that this settlement could meet basic food and clothing needs.

Karen walked around and set his sights on a manor that was obviously larger. The player's footprints first came from this manor. Karen's footprint tracking was not easy. Even in human settlements, he could accurately distinguish them.

There is a separate wall outside the manor, which encloses four wooden houses and a small courtyard. There are guards guarding the entrance of the manor. The equipment on their bodies is obviously much more sophisticated. These undoubtedly represent that the status of this family is unusual, and they are most likely the managers here.

For Karen, the night is his best camouflage. The racial talent of the vampires allows him to hide in the darkness better, and his identity as "Champion Warrior Chosen by Lady of the Night" makes the night full of tolerance for him, and the surrounding environment seems to be directly integrated with him.

The guards were as if they didn't exist to Karen. Under the cover of night, he flew straight into the manor without being noticed by anyone.

In the main house of the manor, several people were talking, speaking the same language used by the player before, but it was obviously much more fluent than that player. These people might be natives of the Torres world.

The reason why I said "maybe" is because Karen is not even sure whether this is the Torres world he knows. Although the system says that the name of the game is "Torres Fantasy", he doesn't feel that this place is like Torres at all.

The most important thing is that Karen’s prayers to the Lady of the Dark Night did not receive any response, which made him feel anxious.

The door to the main house stood open, an oil lamp burning. Karen followed the shadows inside and landed on a beam, watching the five men conversing below. Still, no one noticed him. The five men gathered around a table with a diagram on it. Karen could tell it depicted the layout of the settlement, a very realistic one.

"Lyle, you've done a great job, better than I expected. The construction of the base was completed earlier than planned, and it's even better. You didn't let me down, and now you can take on big responsibilities."

One of the five people spoke. He was a middle-aged man with blond hair, a strong build, and well-dressed. He looked like the leader of the five.

The man reached out and patted the shoulder of a young man next to him with a pleased expression. There were two young men next to him, both with blond hair and blue eyes. The one being praised looked younger and a little immature, while the other one next to him was a little older with a sullen face, but only about twenty years old.

"Father, this is what I should do."

The young man with a green face was neither arrogant nor impatient, but seemed more mature than the slightly older man next to him. This made the other two middle-aged men standing beside him full of praise in their eyes, and they were obviously very satisfied with the performance of this young man.

Karen looked at the five people, and his sight finally locked on the young man with a slightly immature appearance. First of all, sixteen years old should be appropriate for him, and secondly, he was mature beyond his age, which was not what a sixteen-year-old should have.

The people below were chattering away, which made Karen feel annoyed. If the situation was not unclear and he was injured, he would have rushed up directly.

Karen has basically confirmed that this is not within the territory of the empire, and these people are definitely not citizens of the empire. They are not protected by imperial laws and can be dealt with at will and killed at will.

After waiting for a while, the five people finally dispersed and left. Karen followed the young man into the small room on the side. This was obviously the young man's single room. The layout was very simple, with a table, chairs, and a bed, nothing else.

As soon as he returned to the room and closed the door, Lyle Cremona anxiously called out the system and sat on the bed while operating it.

The way he sat down on the bed and stared blankly at the air in front of him almost made Karen confirm his identity immediately.

However, Karen was not in a hurry. Instead, he opened his mouth and spit out the player he had just swallowed.

"Snapped!"

The girl fell from the beam and hit the ground in a free fall, which scared Lyle Cremona who was sitting on the bed.

"Half Orange?!"

The young man opened his mouth, but he spoke in Chinese. This time, Karen's eyes flashed red, and he completely locked onto his target.
