Chapter 503: Bad News from Qingtang Snowfield
Chapter 503: Bad News from Qingtang Snowfield (Two in One)
Yonghe Temple, Shuntian Prefecture, Beijing.
This was originally the palace of Prince Yong before Yongzheng became emperor. After he ascended the throne, it was converted into a temporary palace and called the Yonghe Palace.
Then in the ninth year of Emperor Qianlong's reign (1744), it was converted into a Lama temple by Emperor Qianlong and became the center for the Qing Dynasty to manage Tibetan Buddhism.
At this time, there were four living Buddhas in Tibetan Buddhism: Dalai and Panchen Erdeni.
Zhangjia is the great living Buddha in the southern part of the desert, and Jebtsundamba is the great living Buddha in the northern part of the desert.
At this time, the only person still in Beijing was the third Living Buddha of Mo Nan, Zhangjia Hutuktu - Ruobi Dorje.
Among the other three, the 8th Dalai - Qiangbai Gyatso, the 4th Jebtsundamba Khutuktu - Lobsang Tulku Batan Wangshuk and the 6th Panchen Erdeni - Bandan Yeshe are all in Qingtang.
Moreover, the Fourth Jebtsundamba was only six years old and was the nephew of the Eighth Dalai Lama, Jhangpa Gyatso.
Mo Zibu held the secret report sent by Li Xianwen from Chongqing in his hand, and was suddenly at a loss whether to laugh or cry. Why did this father-in-law always do what he wanted?
This idea is actually not bad. Even now, in the northwest, even though all the people living there are Han people, they cannot escape the invasion of religion.
The reason is very simple. Mo Zibu does not have the ability to develop the economy of the Northwest, especially Greater Gansu (Gansu and Ningxia).
Since the end of the Tang Dynasty, the northwest trade routes were gradually cut off, and the originally prosperous Hexi region began to plummet into the abyss of poverty.
Now, it is the era of sea power. Even for a traditional continental power country like China, most of its economy and other resources will inevitably shift to the ocean. Mo Zibu will not have enough money to revitalize the economy of the northwest.
The only thing Mo Zibu can do for the Northwest now is to summarize the experience after the success of the experimental field in Kaifeng, and encourage local people to grow potatoes and peppers after taking over Shaanxi and Gansu.
At least make sure there are enough potatoes and peppers, and prepare the Liangshan burgers first.
But this can only allow the vast majority of people in Shaanxi and Gansu to barely eat enough, and it does not have much effect on promoting the economy. If the economy cannot take off, it will be extremely difficult to eliminate religion.
However, Mo Zibu was still a little hesitant. It was not because he was afraid that the White Lotus Sect would become too powerful, but because he was afraid that a major conflict would arise between the White Lotus Sect and the Yellow Sect.
Because for the Yellow Sect, no matter how powerful the Muslim Sect is, the worst that can happen is that they can occupy Shaanxi and Gansu. Without strong military support, they cannot go to the plateau or enter the grassland.
But the White Lotus Sect is different. As soon as Zheng Xin appears, it becomes clear who is supporting him.
In addition, although the teachings of the White Lotus Sect were mixed, Zheng Xin's idea of Maitreya's coming to the world was actually not far from the Yellow Sect. As long as they were willing to change, they could be integrated with each other.
In this case, the four living Buddhas have reason to believe that the newly born Dayu Dynasty and Mozibu want to support a living Buddha who was completely reincarnated in the Han area to enter the Yellow Sect and cause trouble.
"Your Majesty, a secret report from Chengdu: The Sixth Panchen Erdeni Bandan Yeshe passed away at the Tashilhunpo Monastery in Shigatse."
Hearing the report from Hanlin Sheren Zheng Huaide, Mo Zibu was shocked. "Where did the news from Chengdu come from? Did it come from the Minister in Tibet?"
Zheng Huaide nodded and said, "The current minister stationed in Tibet is Baotai of the Plain White Banner of Mongolia. The others include Hengrui, a member of the royal family of the banner in Resa and Shigatse, and Boqing'e of the Fucha family.
The latter two went to Qingtang in the fourth year of Guangzhong. Originally, they were going to invite the Sixth Panchen Lama to Beijing to pray for Emperor Qianlong who had suffered a stroke and to celebrate his 70th birthday. As a result, we entered Beijing ahead of time, so the two stayed in Qingtang.
The letter was sent back by Bo Qing'e of the Fucha family. Hengrui heard that we were going to kill all the yellow-belted and red-belted people, and he has already fled to the territory of the Eleuths in Qinghai.
The Minister to Tibet, Bao Tai, has not appeared for many days and seems to be in contact with the top leaders of Resa.
Bo Qing'e delivered an urgent report from Shigatse. He only had a battalion of more than 300 people from the former Green Camp of Songpan Town in Sichuan. If the Kashag authorities wanted to expel him, he would be unable to resist.
After listening to this, Mo Zibu cleared his throat nervously. He just remembered that at this time, Fukangan's counterattack against Gurkhas on the Snowy Plateau had not yet taken place, which means that the Golden Urn Lottery System had not yet been established.
In addition to this religious aspect, the Golden Urn System also stipulated at the specific government level that Dalai and others were not allowed to write directly to the emperor, and must have it forwarded by the minister stationed in Qingtang.
In the Kashag government responsible for the specific government affairs of Qingtang, the appointment of Kalon (the head of civil officials), Daiben (military commander stationed in various places) and other officials below must be approved by the minister stationed in Qingtang.
Any replacement of the abbots (abbots) of major temples must also obtain the consent of the minister stationed in Qingtang.
Moreover, the minister stationed in Qingtang had the same religious status as Dalai and Panchen Erdeni in Qingtang.
All other matters concerning Qingtang, such as border defense, trade, garrison, finance, and pilgrimages by believers from Gurkhas and other places to Resa, are coordinated and handled by the minister stationed in Qingtang, who has the right to verify at any time.
It can be said that the control of Qingtang by the central government represented by the Qing Dynasty was finally established after Fukangan counterattacked the Gurkhas.
The previous minister in Tibet was more like an angel in Tibet, who could not take care of many things at all.
Then in 1846, facing the British's aggressiveness, Qishan submitted a memorial asking the Minister in Tibet to give up the financial power of Qingtang and the control over the training of the Tibetan army. The Minister in Tibet then became an enhanced version of the Angel in Tibet.
Mo Zibu immediately realized that he had to complete the historical mission that had been accomplished by Qianlong and Fu Kang'an in history.
Thinking of this, Emperor Mo waved his hand and said, "The danger of Qingtang is not on the plateau, but on the Gurkhas and the British in the south.
Orders were given to Huang Zhongtong, the Governor-General of Yunnan and Guizhou, and Mo Gongbai, the Governor-General in charge of Burma's military, finances, and Han and non-Human affairs, to complete the integration of the southwestern chieftains as soon as possible, and to make some concessions if necessary.
Before next year, an army of 30,000 men must be formed to control all of Upper Burma."
Zheng Huaide understood that the emperor wanted to gain control of Upper Burma as soon as possible and then block Meng Yun, the Burmese king of Lower Burma, so that he could not move.
Then he could be driven to use Myanmar's military power to threaten British India in the long term, so that the British would not dare to continue supporting the Shah family of Gorkha and cut off their steps of continuously encroaching on territory to the north and even invading Qingtang.
Without these foreign aids, the Dalai and Kashag authorities in Qingtang would not be able to do anything.
"Your Majesty, what about Boqing'e of Shigatse? Will he be allowed to retreat to Sichuan?" Zheng Jinshui, who had been silent beside Mo Zibu, suddenly asked.
Zheng Jinshui, who has always been cautious, had a reason to ask this question, because Bo Qing'e was different from Mingde who killed Zhu Gui and surrendered in Kunming and Hailancha who surrendered in Chengdu.
Mingde and Hailancha surrendered when they were left with no other options. It was a helpless act to save their lives after being threatened by force. Moreover, they were Manchu Qing officials in Han areas.
Bo Qing'e was the assistant minister in Tibet. Accepting his surrender meant that Mo Zibu, a Han-dominated Yu, chose to accept the political assets of the Manchu-dominated Qing Dynasty outside the eighteen provinces in the Han area.
It is the inheritance of the old central dynasty in some aspects by the new central dynasty. So by analogy, the assistant minister in Tibet can be accepted, but what about the minister in Kulun?
What about General Uliyasutai, General Ili, General Heilongjiang, and General Jilin?
If they want to surrender, you should accept it.
If we accept them, when we write history of the Qing Dynasty in the future, we must write it according to the orthodox dynasty, or at least we must acknowledge that the Qing Dynasty was indeed the central dynasty.
Mo Zibu was silent for a moment. In his heart, he did not want to admit it. But even if you don't admit it, the territories under the jurisdiction of these four generals and two ministers are indeed under the actual control of the Han dynasty like the Qing Dynasty has never before.
Even going back to the Tang Dynasty, there were many places that were not under actual control, such as the Ili River Valley. The Qing Dynasty's control over this area was real, which was not comparable to the Tang Dynasty's practice of appointing a few small khans.
For example, in Qingtang, the Ming Dynasty only maintained the tribute system and did not establish institutions such as the Minister Resident in Tibet, so it could not be considered as real actual control.
Not to mention the northern desert including Tannu Uriankhai, Lake Baikal and the entire Kobdo.
"Your Majesty, if we do not accept it, then after recovering Shaanxi and Gansu, you will have to push forward the march to the northwest and northeast and recover them by yourself. The court officials will definitely not be willing to do so and will not support it.
Even for the meritorious officials and wealthy merchants in Fujian and Guangdong, our Dayu is now too big, and Nanyang alone requires and is worth devoting most of our manpower and material resources to.
More importantly, if you invest money in Southeast Asia, you will see benefits quickly and the payback period is completely foreseeable, but this is not the case in the Northwest and Northeast.
If we ignore this, and Dayu does not accept the Qing Dynasty's assets outside the Eighteen Provinces of Han, not only will the Qing Dynasty's existing strength be overwhelmed by the locals, but Your Majesty will also face immense resistance if he wishes to deploy military forces to these areas in the future."
"Everyone in the world is busy pursuing profit!" After hearing this, Mo Zibu couldn't help but sigh.
Zheng Jinshui's words make sense. The biggest reason why the Han and Tang dynasties opened up the Western Regions was because it was beneficial.
The Ming Dynasty did not even want Hami Wei or Dunhuang because there was no benefit in doing so. Even if the emperor wanted to fight, the ministers below would stop him if there was no benefit.
Similarly, in the current Dayu, there is no benefit in taking over the Western Regions and other places. Not only is there no benefit, but there will also be a lot of trouble.
If we really follow the immediate interests, we can at most fight to Jiayuguan like the Ming Dynasty did.
Then I won't care if you beat your brains into dog brains in the west, but you can't threaten my homeland. I have to spend money on stationing troops and enthroning you. I might as well spend this money on Southeast Asia.
As for how important the Western Regions and Outer Northeast were, which is understood by later generations, many people lamented the loss of the Ili River Valley, Lake Balkhash, Vladivostok, Sakhalin Island, Lake Baikal, etc.
I wish I could go back to that era and protect these family businesses for my descendants.
But in the eyes of people at that time, these places were completely barren lands where there was no need to spend money.
Even more than a hundred years later, Sun Yat-sen still said that he only wanted the eighteen provinces of Han.
This is the limitation of history. People at that time did not think that a Han regime needed to occupy those places, nor did they think that it could not occupy these places for a long time.
It can be said that from the court to the people, no one would support spending money on these places like the Qing Dynasty did.
There is currently only one way to break it.
It was Mo Zibu who, before those civil servants who only cared about their own interests, took practical action to accept the Qing Dynasty's legacy outside the Eighteen Provinces of Han, set up the framework, and first shouldered what currently seemed to be a negative asset.
The emperor has already taken all these, and it would be difficult for his ministers to say that the emperor is inferior to the emperors of the Qing Dynasty.
Of course, as the founding emperor, Mo Zibu could arbitrarily declare that he must take charge of these places.
But this would run counter to his approach of spreading power to all social classes, promoting industry and commerce, and establishing a republican parliament.
"Your Majesty, I believe that including Nurhaci and other traitors in the Biography of Rebels is not inconsistent with compiling history for the Qing Dynasty.
After all, the Qing Dynasty did exist for more than a hundred years. No matter how much we hate it, we cannot deny its existence.
Therefore, I suggest that Nurhaci, Huang Taiji, Dorgon, Fulin, Xuanye and others be recorded truthfully and severely punished.
But for Emperors Yongzheng and Qianlong, their achievements in expanding territory can be acknowledged, in order to win the hearts of the Mongols in the north and south of the desert and the barbarians outside the Great Wall."
Zheng Huaide saw the emperor's dilemma and took the initiative to speak:
"When Zhu Yuanzhang recognized the Mongol Yuan Dynasty as legitimate, it was actually because the Han people in the north had not been under the rule of the south for hundreds of years.
Only one in ten Han people survive in places like Hexi and Longyou, and in the eyes of the southern Han people, they are of little value. Therefore, recognizing the Mongol Yuan also means recognizing that Hexi and Longyou are Han territory, and even if it costs a fortune, they should be recovered.
Mo Zibu nodded after hearing this, but he didn't agree, he just agreed to consider it.
"Ashui, prepare to take up your post in Sichuan. I appoint you as the Governor of Sichuan. After Li Xianwen leads the army into Shaanxi and Gansu, you will be stationed in Chengdu.
As for Bo Qing'e, order him to retreat. He is familiar with Tibet, and his 300 Green Camp soldiers from Songpan Town are our eyes and ears in Tibet. Don't harm them easily, but don't spread the news that Bo Qing'e has retreated.
As he spoke, Mo Zibu recalled that in history, when Fukangan fought back against the Gurkhas on the snowy plateau, most of the elite soldiers he mobilized were recruited from the vicinity of Jinchuan.
After these Jiarong Tibetans were conquered by the Qing Dynasty, they were soon used by the Qing Dynasty.
They were adapted to fighting in the high-altitude snow-capped mountains of the snowy region, and their combat capabilities were greatly improved in the entanglement with the Qing Dynasty. Therefore, they had strong combat effectiveness and made great contributions to the counterattack against the Gurkhas.
Mo Zibu then said to Zheng Jinshui, "Once you arrive in Chengdu, you must recruit Tibetans from the Jiarong region and be prepared to enter Tibet at any time. I will also transfer Zhu Shedou, the general of Guizhou, to assist you."
Zhu Shedou also participated in the counterattack on the snowy plateau in history. He is one of the few people that Mo Zibu vaguely remembers.
After Zheng Jinshui received the order and went down, the third Changkya Hutuktu, Ruobi Dorje, came in wearing an ochre-yellow monk robe.
The old monk was from Liangzhou and was said to be of Han ethnicity. This was also the tradition of the Zhangjia Hutuktu. The Zhangjias of all generations either had Han ancestry or were selected in the Han area.
Ruobi Dorje was born in 1717 and is years old this year.
He was the longest-lived and longest-serving of all the Changkya Hutuktus, serving from 1719 until his death in 1786.
"Grand Master, I have received news that the Sixth Panchen Erdeni passed away in Zabulun Monastery." The Third Jamyang Khyentse was named the Grand Master for the Revitalization of the Yellow Sect by Emperor Qianlong, and Mozibu naturally acknowledged it.
After listening to this, the Third Jamyang Khyentse lowered his eyes, sat cross-legged on the ground, and chanted Buddhist scriptures for a long time.
Mo Zibu glanced at him and ordered someone to bring a cushion so that he could mourn with him for a while.
After a while, the Third Zhangjia opened his eyes and looked at Mo Zibu for a moment before greeting him. "It seems that Your Majesty intends to continue the previous Qing Emperor's policy towards our religion."
"Come, give the Grand Master a seat!" Mo Zibu first asked someone to bring a yellow brocade stool, and then he returned to the throne and let the Third Jamyang Khyentse sit to his lower left.
"Times change, and things change naturally." Mo Zibu smiled, "The world has come to this point, and the Qing Dynasty has made its share of mistakes, but it has also made its own contributions.
Since I have recovered the land of the Han Dynasty and become the founding ruler, I am naturally not as great an emperor of the East as the Qing emperors. Instead, I want to be a small emperor who only cares about the Central Plains and does not care about the rest of the world.
This time, we have asked the Grand Master to come here to promote harmony among the various ethnic groups, to avoid incidents and loss of life. I wonder what the Grand Master thinks?"
"God is merciful and kind, and it is a good thing that Your Majesty wishes to keep things peaceful. However, in my humble opinion, things in the world may not always go as Your Majesty wishes.
Now that the Sixth Panchen Lama has passed away, Qingtang is in the hands of the Eighth Dalai Lama, and the Fourth Jebtsundamba Khutuktu is the nephew of the Eighth Dalai Lama.
Your Majesty has overthrown the Qing Dynasty. The Eight Banners of the Damu Mongols and the Thirty-Nine Tribes of Hor have lost their support from the Central Plains and are unable to take care of themselves.
Rasa has never been so powerful. Even if Your Majesty wants to avoid war, and the Eighth Dalai Lama doesn't want to use it, the people below will not agree."
The Eight Banners of Damu Mongolia mentioned by the Third Jamyang Khyentse were Mongolian tribes that roamed in Qingtang Dangxiong and Nagqu. They were originally subordinates of Lobsang Danjin of the Khoshut Mongolians in Qinghai.
The Thirty-Nine Tribes of Khor are similar, and were once part of the Khoshut Khanate.
After the defeat of Lobsang Danjin, these people became the main military force of the Qing court to control Qingtang.
In all the battles to pacify the Qingtang affairs, the local soldiers and generals recruited were mainly Damu Mongols, supplemented by the thirty-nine tribes of Hor.
Now, the Qing court, the strongest support that the Eight Banners of Damu and the Thirty-Nine Tribes of Hor had in suppressing Resa, is gone. In order to survive, they will most likely have to make peace with the Resa authorities.
In particular, Baotai, the minister in Tibet who is currently in Resa, is a Mongolian. It is very likely that for the sake of his own status, he will bring these Khoshut Mongols to join the Resa Kashag.
Mo Zibu racked his brains quickly. This was not the first time he had summoned the Third Zhangjia. The previous times he had just exchanged witty remarks with him, but this time he did not say anything religious at all. It was like a minister coming to make a report.
How could someone who could sit in this position suddenly have such a big change? Mo Zibu pondered his words carefully and suddenly thought of something.
That was Zhangjia’s territory, which was not originally in the south of the desert, or rather, it was not mainly in the south of the desert, but in Qinghai.
So the monks in the temple took him hostage and participated in the rebellion of Lobsang Danjin in Qinghai. After the rebellion was put down, the Third Zhangjia was left in Beijing and lost his ecclesiastical authority over Qinghai.
On the surface, the wealth of the southern part of the desert is far less than that of Qinghai, but in fact, the Mongolians in the southern part of the desert are the Qing Dynasty's own people. Although they are rich, the Third Zhangjia has only the title and can't get involved at all.
Qinghai is a little poor, but it is a real place.
"Hehehe!" After figuring it out, Mo Zibu laughed at the Third Zhangjia, making the Third Zhangjia feel hairy all over and extremely uncomfortable.
"Grand Master, have you forgotten one thing? The Mongols south of the desert are the people of the Qing Dynasty, but they are not my people.
I am a Han Chinese from Lingnan, not a Jurchen from the Outer Xing'an Mountains."
Mist grass!
The Third Zhangjia suddenly raised his head and showed a look of shock on his face for the first time. The old monk had also fallen into inertial thinking and was still using the relationship with the Qing court to understand the south and north of the desert.
Now that Mo Zibu said this, it was like an epiphany.
After thinking of another possibility, the Third Zhangjia couldn't help but ask with a trembling voice, "Your Majesty, is the Great Emperor really willing to let me manage the temples in the south of the desert?"
Mo Zibu stood up and looked down at the Third Zhangjia, "Grand Master, the Qing Dynasty is close to the Mongols south of the Gobi Desert, so they formed a marriage alliance with the Mongols south of the Gobi Desert, and enfeoffed the Mongols north of the Gobi Desert to keep them under control.
I have tens of thousands of cavalry and countless guns and cannons, so I should actually control the south of the desert and form an alliance with the north of the desert.
As long as the Master is willing to establish his main temple in Chengde, then all Yellow Sect temples in Monan, Chengde, and the capital will be headed by the Grand Master. I will not interfere too much in religious matters."
"I thank Your Majesty. All the Zhangjia clan will follow Your Majesty and bring peace to the south of the desert." The third Zhangjia was very excited and immediately stood up to express his loyalty.
But don’t think that these living Buddhas are all otherworldly. In fact, when faced with power, no human being can be otherworldly.
"However, I have an idea about Qinghai." Mo Zibu suddenly remembered Zheng Xin.
Since the Third Zhangjia truly obtained the ecclesiastical authority in the southern part of the desert, could Qinghai be given up?
If Zheng Xin could be placed in the original territory of the Khoshut Khanate, and with the support of the White Lotus Sect in Shaanxi and Gansu, he would be in trouble.
First, it can strike at the Muslims in Shaanxi and Gansu; second, it can use the Eight Banners of Damu, the Thirty-Nine Tribes of Hor, and the Forty Tribes of Yushu to maintain pressure on Resa.
“My father-in-law, King Zheng of Taiping, originally lived in Southeast Asia. He told everyone he met that he had received enlightenment from the Buddha, and that his blood turning from red to white could predict future events.
For this reason, he even ignored state affairs and refused to be king. He abandoned his family and career and traveled around the world.
At the beginning of the year, the Guanyin Bodhisattva temple in Putuo Mountain gathered believers from all over the world to participate in a grand Dharma Assembly. People even came from Southeast Asia, Myanmar, Thailand and other places. It was truly a grand event for Buddhism.
Recently, Li Xianwen, the son-in-law of the emperor and the governor of Shaanxi, Gansu and Sichuan, reported that King Zheng said that the Buddha allowed him to sit on the lotus platform in the northwest, and also promised him the golden Buddha robe and bowl in the south of Chongqing.
As a mortal like me, I naturally don't understand matters concerning gods and Buddhas. I wonder what the Grand Master thinks?"
The Third Zhangjia sighed inwardly. As expected, none of these emperors were not greedy. Qianlong was like this, and so was the Guangzhong standing in front of him.
However, the Third Zhangjia couldn't help but feel excited. If the Zhangjia line could control the temples in the south of the desert and Beijing forever, the benefits would be too great. He really couldn't bear to see this opportunity slip away.
"If the Master agrees, I am willing to send Hongli to Songzhu Temple for resettlement and assign thirty former Qing Dynasty eunuchs to serve him. The Grand Master can also visit him."
Seeing that the Third Zhangjia was still hesitant, Mo Zibu placed another heavy bet.
The third Zhangjia spent his childhood in Beijing. He went to school with the brothers Hongli and Hongzhou, and they had a very good relationship.
Songzhu Temple is located in Dongcheng District of Beijing in later generations. It is a famous Yellow Sect temple in the capital. If Qianlong could go to Songzhu Temple, the conditions would be much better than being detained in the cold palace of the Forbidden City.
Well, it’s not that Mo Zibu has good intentions. Emperor Mo knows Qianlong better than anyone else, and the best thing about this man is face.
If you kill him, you will be the one who knows nothing about death.
But you keep him and let him see what the real Ten Perfect Martial Arts is. That is painful, that is killing people and destroying their hearts.
Now Qianlong is imprisoned in the cold palace, eating porridge and pickles every day. His health is getting worse and worse. It would not be fun if he died.
We might as well take him to Songzhu Temple, give him some ginseng, deer antlers, deer blood, etc., and try to make him live to the historical age, so that he can fully see Mo Zibu's true Ten Perfect Martial Arts.
Mo Zibu's concession also touched the heart of the Third Zhangjia. He could not ignore the decades-long friendship and the fact that they had grown up together as classmates.
"Your Majesty is so magnanimous and benevolent, a rarity in history."
As he spoke, the Third Changkya chanted the Buddha's name again, "I think King Zheng is willing to give up his royal dignity and convert to Buddhism. He must have been truly inspired by the Buddha.
If there is a golden Buddha in the south of Chongqing Prefecture, this is truly a great blessing."
Mo Zibu nodded with satisfaction. Among the four living Buddhas today, there is a tacit rule that determines the level of cultivation based on age.
For example, the Third Jamyang Khyentse was the oldest of the four living Buddhas, so he was the one who personally went to certify the Eighth Dalai Lama.
At night, Mo Zibu hurriedly wrote a letter to Li Xianwen, saying that after the Shaanxi-Gansu Campaign was over, and even after the overall situation was basically under control, he would use the relationship with the Third Zhangjia to quickly conquer the entire Qinghai Eleuth Mongols, including the Khoshut Mongols.
As for the Qingtang Plateau, Mo Zibu is temporarily powerless. Without conquering the Qinghai Eleuths, he will not be able to suppress the Resa authorities.
At the same time, to the south of the Jasa authorities, there was the Kingdom of Nepal established by the newly rising Gurkha Shah family. These bastards were looking ambitiously to the north.
They are likely to join forces with the Jasa authorities. The enemy is very powerful, so we must advance with caution.
