Chapter 15 The road ahead, the road to strength
"No evil god could create so many real creations with such a small number of souls. Otherwise, those restless creatures would have already started mass-producing them and throwing them into the real universe."
Ramses said with certainty.
Many people have misunderstandings about the power of the Four Gods, but in fact, once you truly understand the world view of Warhammer 40k, you will understand that the Four Gods are not as terrible and unsolvable as you imagined.
What really makes people feel despair in Warhammer is the overall decline of various civilizations, the stinking empires in the real universe, the various heaven-defying demonic forces, and the four troublemakers in the warp.
In fact, before the Great Rift opened, the Four Gods interfered with the real universe by developing cultists to perform sacrifices to open the subspace portal for demon invasion, and relying on Brother Dun to integrate the scattered Chaos traitors to carry out the "Every Time is a Victory" Dark Expedition.
Abaddon, who was chosen by the Four Gods, spent countless years plundering the real universe and signed a bunch of unequal treaties with the Black Mechanicus, only then did he create something like the Planet Killer in the Eye of Terror. It would be too difficult for the Four Gods to just spend some souls to create something like Adamantium and Shining Gold.
If the items you exchange are terribly expensive, just like fishing, where they entice you to accumulate souls so that you can gain power and then paint a rosy picture for you, then there is no doubt that it must be a conspiracy of Chaos.
But now the consumption is too small, so small that people can basically be sure that this is beyond the scope of the power of the Four Gods.
"So you guys have an idea of your own abilities, right?"
Everyone nodded.
In layman's terms, they are now stc, but the raw material they produce is spiritual energy.
"Then there's the question of how to obtain the raw materials. Theoretically, this can be done by hunting any entity that possesses spiritual energy."
Killing people is certainly acceptable, but outrageous acts such as indiscriminate killing are basically not considered by everyone.
Ramses opened a demon portal, and a greedy blue Tzeentch horror rushed out, and was then blasted into pieces by psychic lightning.
"My current idea is to perform a demon summoning ritual to kill it. Anyway, since I've switched to psychic powers, I'm quite dazzling in the warp."
A monster spawner, right?
"Isn't it dangerous?"
Arthur asked, thinking that this behavior of fishing with himself seemed a bit suicidal.
"The devil can only see the projection of psychic energy, but can't see me."
Ramses explained:
"Our use of psychic powers is more like a person using a tool. The devil can see the tool, but not the person using it."
All I can say is that there are benefits to seeking death. Ramses' understanding of his own abilities far exceeds that of the three of them.
At least if it were Arthur, given his cautiousness, he would definitely not dare to try it if his suspicions were true, and naturally he would not be able to explore the principles behind their abilities.
"There is another one."
Seeing that Ramses had finished his speech, Romulus added.
"Our direct intervention in a given event can also absorb a large amount of spiritual power, far more than hunting down individual spirits."
"for example?"
Ramses became interested.
"Arthur and I intervened in a Khorne Chaos Space Marine sacrificial ritual against the Death Watch during the process of reclaiming the Geller Field Generator. After we killed the enemy, we gained a huge amount of spiritual power."
Romulus began to recount his previous experiences.
He was able to send dozens of Astartes to various nodes to assist in defense because of this unexpected windfall.
"Is that so?"
Ramses rubbed his chin, an expression of sudden enlightenment appearing on his face.
"I was wondering where those inexplicable spiritual powers came from. Turns out this is the reason."
He then spoke:
"In fact, every action we take absorbs spiritual power, just a small amount. How you and Arthur gain so much is indeed worth studying. We still need more examples to verify it."
"Yeah." Romulus nodded, ending the topic.
"That's about all we know about our abilities for now. Now, the most important question—"
He folded his hands and supported his chin, his deep red eyes scanning everyone seriously. Even Karna, who had been pretending to be invisible, sat up straight.
“What should we do in the future?”
"Stay in a corner, or get involved?"
It's likely that these four will stay in the Warhammer universe until they die, so there must be a specific plan for the future.
"If I were just an ordinary fallen angel, I would definitely find a way to live in a garden world. Every day I live is a blessing."
Arthur spoke first.
"but--"
Romulus looked at his childhood friend with a teasing look, and then gave him a way out.
"But with you all here, and this unknown power, I think we're destined to be restless."
Arthur spoke. He knew very well that no matter how much he doubted his power to materialize souls, this power ultimately gave them a new choice.
A choice they had to make.
"To intervene in major events, to explore the essence of our power, to kill those enemies who go against our values. We must pursue strength. After all, in this universe—"
Avoiding the collision of his gaze with Romulus, Arthur looked into the eyes of his companions one by one.
"Only strength is truth!"
In this strange universe, whether it is the Empire, Chaos, or Aliens, they are all threats to those who travel through time.
Weak things cannot survive when faced with these threats.
Now, a path to becoming stronger is clearly revealed before them.
The time travelers do not want to fall into regret when one day in the future they are crushed by the aftermath of the conflict between the empire and the enemy, and regret why they did not develop their own strength and absorb the food to become stronger from the cracks of those events.
So they need to pursue power and seek more efficient ways to make themselves stronger.
If you want to become stronger, you can't stay out of it forever.
And
The four of them looked at each other. Besides the consensus on each other's choice, there was also a glimmer of hope.
A hope to transform this chaotic galaxy into the familiar world in memory.
"grown ups!"
A call came from outside the door, interrupting everyone's 'affectionate' gaze.
It was Sister Arabella's voice.
After Ramses raised his hand to clear away the creations that did not belong to this era, Romulus operated the Thinker to open the door.
"Sister Arabella."
Romulus invited the nun into the room.
"What's the matter?"
"It's about the warriors of the Broken Sword. They've mutated badly."
Arabella spoke up, not understanding why she would choose this moment to report such a trivial matter to the Emperor's Angel.
But there was always a voice urging her to come here, constantly telling her that the angels should know.
