Chapter 64: The Stolen Corpse
Chapter 64: The Stolen Corpse (Part )
"Where are you?"
Green asked without hesitation.
James was silent for a few seconds, then spoke an address from his phone.
Unexpectedly, he was not at the police station, but at a cemetery.
"Wait a moment, I'll be right there."
Green hung up the phone, stood up and prepared to go find James.
"what happened?"
Vanessa turned her attention to this when the phone rang.
"James is in some trouble and wants me to come over and take a look."
Green took his coat off the hanger, turned his head to look at Vanessa and the others and said, "Don't worry about me. Call me if you have anything."
Hearing this, Vanessa immediately felt relieved.
"come back earlier."
After giving Green a warning, she turned around and prepared to continue the previous topic.
"Who is James?"
Selina asked subconsciously as she watched Green's figure disappear behind the door.
"A friend of mine, a police officer, has encountered some problems that were difficult to explain scientifically before, and Green always helped him solve them. I believe it will be similar this time."
Vanessa explained casually.
If someone else had called Green out, she might have suspected that Green was going out to fool around.
But after the last dinner, the James family left a very good impression on her.
"So that's it."
Selina nodded, glanced at the door, and said nothing more.
Green was unaware of the discussion between the two women.
As soon as he opened the car door, he found an uninvited guest in the passenger seat.
"Stitch, what are you following?"
Stitch's two big ears moved, pointed outside the garage, and grinned, revealing two rows of white teeth.
Seeing it like this, Green gave up the idea of driving it away.
"You can follow me, but you can't cause any trouble. Do you understand?"
As soon as he finished speaking, he saw Stitch nodded sharply.
Green smiled, reached out and touched Stitch's head, and started the car.
Half an hour later, he arrived at the cemetery where James was.
After getting off the car, Green found that the place had been blocked by the police and a cordon had been set up around it.
He was about to call and talk to James when he heard someone calling his name in the distance.
Green looked up and saw James in police uniform running towards him from the cemetery.
"Green!"
James stopped behind the cordon, panting, and wiped the sweat from his forehead.
"How did you get so dirty?"
Green frowned slightly and looked James up and down.
The originally neat police uniform was covered with stains and some places were covered with mud, making it look as if it had just crawled out of a pit.
"You'll know when you come in!"
James sighed helplessly and reached out to lift the cordon.
Green raised his eyebrows and went inside with Stitch.
Soon, they followed James deep into the cemetery.
"Green!"
"long time no see!"
The police who stayed there saw James and Green coming and greeted them.
"hello."
Green responded to everyone one by one.
He took a quick look around and found that everyone around him was familiar, most of them were police officers from the same team as James.
"What are you doing..."
Green looked at everyone with a surprised expression on his face.
Every police officer around looked like they had just crawled out of a pit. "Let me explain the situation."
James waved to everyone, signaling them to go and rest.
He had been promoted to squad leader two years ago, so as soon as he finished speaking, the police around him breathed a sigh of relief.
After greeting Green and the other two, they walked towards the exit of the cemetery together.
“See these graves?”
James stretched out his arm, pointed forward, and said to Green, "We received a report that the bodies inside have been stolen."
"Oh?"
Green frowned slightly and walked to a cemetery.
I saw that there was a hole in the concrete tomb, and it was empty inside.
"What do you think?"
Green looked around and turned to look at James.
"We originally thought it was done by gangs involved in human organ trafficking."
James' expression was very serious. "But after investigation, we found that some of these robbed graves have been there for several years, and the bodies inside do not meet the requirements for organ theft."
"And the cemetery caretaker said he saw the devil."
Hearing this, Green frowned immediately.
"devil?"
He turned and looked again at the destroyed cemetery.
"No, it can't be the devil."
James' eyes lit up when he heard this.
He looked up at Green's expression and asked, "Why?"
"Demons are creatures from hell, and their appearance is accompanied by a foul smell of sulfur."
Green began to explain, "And the demons can't just come whenever they want. There are insurmountable barriers between Hell and the human world, and they have to pay a huge price to come to the human world."
"They are just a few ordinary corpses, not worthy of the devil showing up in person."
Looking at James's face full of sudden enlightenment, Green did not mention the most important basis.
That is, the magic circle on his left wrist did not respond at all.
This means that the guy who stole the body did not leave behind any supernatural powers.
"Does that mean the administrator is lying?"
James frowned slightly, and out of professional habit, he immediately turned his target to the cemetery manager.
"maybe."
Green shook his head.
He raised his head and called out to Stitch, who was wandering around: "Stitch!"
As soon as he finished speaking, he saw a blue figure running in front of him.
"Smell this place and see if you can find any clues."
Green pointed to the grave with a hole in it.
Hearing this, Stitch shook his big ears and lay at the entrance of the cave, sniffing non-stop.
"What is this? A puppy?"
It was the first time James saw Stitch and he looked very surprised.
"It's much more powerful than a puppy."
Green smiled slightly without further explanation.
Soon, Stitch stopped moving.
I saw it raise its head, its two big eyes wide open.
It quickly glanced around and then crawled in one direction.
Before he took a few steps, he turned around and looked at Green.
"Come on, let's follow."
Green understood what Stitch meant, turned his head and said something to James, then took a step and followed Stitch.
Although James was a little confused, he chose to follow out of trust in Green.
There is a forest behind the cemetery, and due to its location, there have been very few people visiting.
Stitch didn't stop and took Green and the other two into the forest.
