North America: An Extraordinary Life Beginning with Exorcism

Chapter 8 Strange Situation in the Apartment

Chapter 8 Strange Situation in the Apartment

"This apartment..."

Green carried a lot of bags and followed Vanessa out of the elevator.

He looked at the mottled walls of the apartment corridor and frowned slightly.

As soon as I entered the apartment, the magic circle on my wrist felt slightly warm.

Green has encountered this situation several times in the past few years.

The occurrence of this situation means that there is an extraordinary power here!

"what happened?"

Vanessa, who had just taken out the key, turned her head and looked at Green with some confusion: "What's wrong with this apartment?"

"Let's talk after we get inside."

Green didn't answer immediately, urging Vanessa to open the door as soon as possible.

Vanessa felt a little confused, but soon, as if she had thought of something, she turned around and quickly unlocked the door.

She waited for Green to enter the room, then stuck her head out and quickly looked down the corridor before slamming the door.

As soon as Green put the package on the ground, Vanessa came over from behind.

"There's something wrong with this apartment, right?!"

Vanessa's face was filled with a hint of barely suppressed excitement, and she tried to lower her voice. "I've always felt there was something wrong with this place! The elevator keeps breaking down, and the hallways are filled with a musty smell! The administrator said it was because the house was too old, but I knew that wasn't the reason! Is it a demon? Or an evil spirit?"

Green shook his head helplessly. "I don't know either. I'm just sure there's some extraordinary power here, and it's definitely not a good thing."

"what!"

Unlike ordinary people, Vanessa waved her fist excitedly when she heard the news.

She leaned in front of Green and asked in a low voice, "Should we go investigate?"

"It's not us, it's me."

Green frowned and looked into Vanessa's eyes: "You already promised me that you would never get involved in these things again."

Vanessa's eyes, which were shining brightly, dimmed visibly.

She pouted, lowered her head and said nothing.

Seeing her like this, Green sighed helplessly.

"Okay, Vanessa."

He gently pinched Vanessa's chin and said, "We can work together, but if there's any action to be taken, you can't participate. In other words, you can only participate in theoretical discussions, and actual operations are prohibited."

Vanessa's eyes suddenly lit up, and she hugged Green happily, burying her head in his collar: "I love you, baby!"

"All right."

Green hugged Vanessa for a while before gently pushing her away: "Let's pack up our things first, and then you tell me in detail about the problems with this apartment."

"Uh-huh!"

……

The apartment that Vanessa rented was not very big. After putting Green's things away, the originally spacious space seemed a bit cramped.

"I'm still short of some daily necessities. Let's buy them when we go out to eat!"

Vanessa clapped her hands and said, standing in the middle of the living room.

"no problem."

Green nodded without raising any objections.

Although he and Vanessa lived alone before, they were both idiots in the kitchen.

The two of them basically eat their three meals a day in restaurants and order takeout.

He turned over and sat on the sofa. Green patted the seat next to him and said, "Tell me what you know."

"No problem!" Vanessa quickly jumped into Green's arms, found a comfortable position, and then spoke: "Actually, this place was normal before... It was only about a month ago that some strange things started to happen. It started..."

She frowned slightly and thought for a moment before continuing, "It must be the potted plant by the apartment door. It was alive and well before, but suddenly it withered and died."

"Then there's the elevator, which keeps breaking down, and mold is starting to appear on the corridor walls. You have to remember that while this isn't a luxury apartment, it's still decent quality, and they regularly maintain it, so mold wouldn't be a problem!"

Green interrupted, "Is it just the building that's having problems? What about the residents? Has anyone suddenly become seriously ill? Or died under mysterious circumstances?"

"This one……"

Vanessa paused for a moment, then said hesitantly, "Probably not..."

Then she added, "Of course! It's also possible that I don't know! You can ask the administrator. He inspects the apartment twice a day. If there's a problem with the residents, he'll definitely know!"

"Come back after dinner!"

Green didn't refuse the offer.

When it comes to familiarity with the apartment, the administrator is definitely ranked first.

Vanessa sat up from Green's arms and snuggled up to his shoulder: "What do you think is causing this trouble?"

"It's not certain yet."

Green shook his head and explained, "Many demons have appeared, causing the surrounding buildings to become dilapidated."

"There are also goblins. They dig complex tunnels underground, which may also affect the buildings on the ground. Based on the situation here, I am more inclined to believe that one of the residents has attracted or summoned some low-level demon."

"It doesn't matter what kind of things they are, I will destroy them when the time comes."

Vanessa looked at the man in front of her who was speaking so eloquently, her eyes shining.

Suddenly, she reached out and grabbed Green's collar: "Damn it! You seduced me!"

As she said that, she kissed him without saying anything.

"Woo!"

……

After a big battle, the Greens found a restaurant and ordered a lot of food.

Looking at the table full of food and then at Green who was wolfing down his food beside her, Vanessa couldn't help but whisper, "Green, you can eat slower. The two of us can't finish so much..."

Green swallowed the burger in his mouth, took a deep breath, and then cursed, "Fuck! I haven't eaten a single bite since yesterday afternoon. You've squeezed me three times!"

Upon hearing this, Vanessa's face suddenly blushed, and she lowered her head and stopped talking.

But soon, she was infected by Green's wolfing down of food and felt a little hungry too.

However, compared to Green, who was in urgent need of energy replenishment, she was the one who was well-nourished and her hunger was not as strong.

Soon, the food that was enough for four people was eaten up by the two of them.

Of course, most of it went into Green's stomach.

The two bought some daily necessities at a supermarket and returned to the apartment before dark.

"strangeness……"

Vanessa walked out of the security room in the apartment lobby, looking puzzled: "Thomas is not here..."

"Who is Thomas?"

"The administrator here."

Vanessa returned to Green's side: "Now is not the time for patrol. Thomas should stay in the guard room. He is a very dedicated person."

"All right."

Green didn't really care about it. He held Vanessa's hand and said, "He might be busy with other things. Let's go upstairs and rest first. We'll ask him about the situation tomorrow."

Vanessa nodded, not dwelling on why Thomas wasn't here.

The two held hands and walked down the hallway toward the elevator.
