Chapter 17: Plan Takes Shape

Chapter 17: Plan Takes Shape
In the light of the library, the old man's voice remained steady.

"When ancient humans walked in the mist, the gods tore through the fog with their glory. Mortals built kingdoms and cities in the mountains, and the power of the gods blessed the earth."

"To optimize the power of their bloodline, blood servants trek across the land, spreading black webs among the rocks and rubble. From these webs, the blood's master rises."

The old man muttered several more weird words like this, but only this one caught Lin Wang's attention.

He had some bad suspicions in his mind.

"If this legend is true... could it be that these lunatics want to summon the 'Blood God'?"

"Huh? That's not necessarily true?" Tian Taozi shuddered and muttered in surprise, "These lunatics really want to summon the Blood God? Although the legend sounds like it summons something, it doesn't mention drawing a magic circle."

"From another perspective: What if the spider web refers to the lines of the magic circle, and black is the color of blood after it turns black?"

Lin Wang took a deep look at the whiteboard, on which was the hexagonal structure that the old man had just casually drawn, as well as a sketch of a spider web.

In his mind, he gradually combined this picture with the map of Tangsheng City, the location of the crime, and the gaze of the deceased.

A complete, huge summoning array gradually took shape in his mind.

Lin Wang drew a few circles on the map: "These are relatively clear locations where the Blood Cultists will cause trouble."

"I will notify the bureau and send people to these locations as soon as possible." Tian Taozi nodded without hesitation and was about to pick up the phone.

"Don't alert the enemy yet." Lin Wang stopped the impatient girl. He drew a circle at the university and connected the line to the inside of the school. After a pause, he said, "This point is inside the school. What is this place?"

The old man came up to take a look and said, "This is the school's large complex building. The school's large classrooms, auditorium and large complex building are here. Thousands of students come in and out of this building every moment."

Tian Taozi was already as anxious as an ant on a hot pan: "Lin Wang, why didn't you let me notify the bureau?"

"What's the rush? Hasn't your colleague, the sheriff surnamed Guo, already gone to inform the bureau?" Lin Wang glanced at Tian Taozi and smiled thoughtfully.

"Now, based on previous intelligence, we can come up with three analyses."

"First, we're certain these Blood Cultists are planning something major. They're planning to create a massive magic circle to summon something... Whether that something is the true Blood God or something else entirely, their purpose is definitely not good."

"Second, there are at least three locations that they are not ready for."

"Third, in the center of the formation is the large complex building of the Federal University."

Lin Wang finished his analysis and, without waiting for Tian Taozi to ask further questions, changed the subject: "If I were a cadre of the Blood Cult, I would definitely arrange for personnel to guard these locations."

Tian Taozi nodded: "That's right, then what?"

"Then, if the Public Security Bureau sends people to raid these outlying branches, the Blood Cultists will realize that we have figured out their purpose."

When Lin Wang said this, he glanced at Tian Taozi. The latter opened her eyes wide and looked at him with a clear face, obviously not understanding what he meant.

"...If these lunatics discovered this, is there a possibility that they would desperately try to activate the formation prematurely?"

Tian Taozi opened her eyes wide, her tone filled with disbelief: "How is this possible? That's a formation! An incomplete formation can't be activated!"

"What if they get impatient and activate a bomb or something?"

"...Then what can you do?"

Lin Wang did not answer her immediately, but looked at the map and began to think.

It’s not that he doesn’t have a good plan, it’s just that he is too unfamiliar with this world, and if he rashly comes up with a bad plan, it is likely to backfire.

As for handing it over to the Public Security Bureau, is it like the sky is falling and someone taller is there to hold it up?

In front of thousands of young and vibrant lives, he never thought of this for a second.

Petty thieves can be dealt with by professionals.

But these are thousands of lives, thousands of young people with a strong thirst for knowledge and the pursuit of truth! Lin Wang pondered, deducing in his mind, and gradually formed a complete plan.

Old Qin looked at Lin Wang in deep thought, then suddenly smiled and turned to Tian Taozi and said, "This young northerner... is quite good."

Tian Taozi was stunned and didn't understand why the old man suddenly said this.

The old man smiled and said, "Once you get older, you will always see more things and people."

"An old guy like me has been in school for a long time and has met more people than I have learned."

"After a long time, I've mastered some ways of judging people. Some people, at first glance, I can tell they have something special."

He pointed at Tian Taozi and said, "Take you, for example. You have a strong sense of life and vitality. You are lively and full of energy. This kind of personality is destined to make you live a happier life and make it easier to turn danger into safety when you encounter danger."

Tian Taozi understood what the old man said and was unusually embarrassed: "Thank you for the compliment. What about Lin Wang?"

"He's... a little different." Old Qin looked at the pensive Lin Wang and waved his hand gently, as if to clear away the fog in front of him. "His eyes remind me of those people who were hung in the school corridor."

"Ah? When you see Lin Wang, it's like you see a dead person?!" Tian Taozi said in surprise.

The old man hadn't expected Tian Taozi to say that out of the blue. His face twitched before he continued, "...I mean, this young man gives me the same feeling as those truly intelligent people."

Coming from a highly respected old professor, praising a young man, these words would have taken anyone by surprise, but Tian Taozi nodded with a matter-of-fact expression, "That's right! Lin Wang is very smart!"

At the same time, Lin Wang, the "smart man" mentioned by the two, just came back to his senses from his thoughts.

He figured it out.

I figured it out... I was overthinking the problem before.

When something seems complicated, the means of solving the problem must be simpler and more direct to be more effective.

If you try to find a solution in a complex situation, you will fall into the other party's rhythm.

As for those blood cultists or lay masters who possess strange powers... if we look at them from a higher level, why not just treat them as ordinary people with a little more strength?
Thinking of this, Lin Wang felt suddenly relieved, and a complete response plan also emerged in his mind.

He turned around: "I figured out what to do."

Then, he told Tian Taozi and Qin Lao the plan in his mind: "I'm going to make a whole wave..."

After listening to Lin Wang's plan, the two men did not show excitement or joy on their faces, but rather expressions of confusion, surprise and disbelief.

Tian Taozi and Old Qin exchanged a glance: "...Didn't you just say he was a smart man?"

"...Don't you think so too?" The old man was silent for a few seconds, then sighed. "I can only say that no matter how smart a northerner is, he is still a northerner..."

Tian Taozi looked at Lin Wang, blinking her eyes, and said in disbelief: "Lin Wang, what do you think?"

Lin Wang scratched his face, feeling a little embarrassed: "...was the noise too loud?"

"Blow it up! Blow up the building! Is this going to make a big noise?" Tian Taozi waved her hands, leaned forward, and pointed at the rows of bookshelves with her eyes wide open. "The Federal University's large complex is a precious building from the same period as the library! Your plan is to blow it up!"

"That's not really appropriate... so I want to make some adjustments?"

"What do you want to adjust?" Tian Taozi interrupted Lin Wang. "This plan is super cool! I like it!"
