Chapter 437 The Gathering of the "Four Gods" of the Future Entertainment Industry, the Penultimate Launch of the Shenzhou Spacecraft
On May 26th, the Unreal Engine 5 Early Access version was released.
Unreal Engine 5 previously held an online launch event, showcasing its powerful features to many people, and at that time, many people were looking forward to its actual release.
However, companies and individuals with connections and genuine needs are already using it.
For example, Feng Ji has already replaced the Unreal Engine 4 resources for "Black Myth: Wukong" with Unreal Engine 5.
After all, Tengzi is a fictitious major shareholder, and Feng Ji has a close relationship with Tengzi.
To be fair, Tengzi did give a lot of support to "Black Myth: Wukong".
Although it can't develop single-player games itself, it has a reputation as an "angel investor" among many single-player game developers.
At Youke Company, Feng Ji began to have headaches again.
Because he needs to prepare for the new live demonstration on August 20th this year.
And it was a live gameplay demo using Unreal Engine 5, lasting over 10 minutes.
The marketing for single-player games doesn't need to be fancy. Unlike online games, you can't do all that. Just be honest and let players see the real stuff.
If you create a lot of hype and raise players' expectations beforehand, but then they find the product doesn't live up to the hype, then...
Wait to die!
As for "Black Myth: Wukong," there was no way around it, because its release immediately raised audience expectations to the highest level, which greatly increased the pressure on Feng Ji.
After all, before "Black Myth: Wukong" was even revealed, they were just putting pressure on themselves. If they didn't do a good job, it would just be a waste of their investment.
However, since its reveal last year, the existence of "Black Myth: Wukong" has been elevated by players to the status of "the success or failure of domestic single-player games depends on this game".
Moreover, the domestic single-player game circle is actually not very large. After "Black Myth: Wukong" was revealed, other companies that were also making large-scale single-player games or planning to make large-scale single-player games came to exchange ideas and learn from its experience.
This caused Feng Ji to lose clumps of hair every day!
He's quite happy that Unreal Engine 5 Early Access has been released, because if more people use Unreal Engine 5, the probability of producing top players will be higher.
Feng Ji had already made up his mind.
Once he has more Unreal Engine 5 experts, he will recruit more people and will definitely be able to make Black Myth: Wukong the best it can be!
During this period, Feng Ji treated Guo Fan, Jiaozi, and Lu Yun to several meals to discuss his new video editing plans. The three business leaders gave him a lot of good ideas.
Although Guo Fan was busy with the post-production of "The Wandering Earth 2" and Jiaozi had started production on the second part of "Ne Zha", they, as the most "pioneering" directors in their respective fields, attached great importance to Feng Ji, who was determined to make "pioneering" achievements in the field of domestic single-player blockbusters, so they also came to help.
As for Lu Yun, everyone knows that he is busy with multiple jobs, but he always has time, so he comes whenever he is called.
After all, for Lu Yun, chatting and gathering with a few idea geniuses is the best way to relax.
Moreover, he had played "Black Myth: Wukong" in his previous life, and he gave the game a high rating, but because the development team lacked experience, they took many detours, so it could have been better.
His goal in this life is to make many things perfect, otherwise, wouldn't his rebirth have been in vain?
Moreover, Guo Fan, Jiaozi, and Feng Ji will be known as the "Three Illusory Gods of China's Cultural and Entertainment Industry" in the future.
Lu Yun felt that he was a big star in the entertainment industry and also worked in the cultural and entertainment industry, so the four of them getting together was practically the "Four Gods of the Domestic Cultural and Entertainment Industry".
On the 29th, the buzz surrounding manned spaceflight between China and Laos surged again, with the Shenzhou-16 crew holding a press conference today and launching tomorrow.
The Shenzhou-3 crew has three characteristics. First, it is the first time that it has included three types of astronauts: pilot, flight engineer, and payload specialist.
Secondly, the third batch of astronauts carried out their first flight mission, which involved a veteran commander from the first batch of astronauts leading two newcomers from the third batch.
They were also carrying out their first flight mission as aerospace flight engineers and payload specialists.
Thirdly, veteran astronaut Jing Haipeng is on his fourth mission, making him the Chinese astronaut with the most spaceflights to date. He previously participated in the Shenzhou VII, IX, and XI manned spaceflight missions.
Furthermore, this mission has another significant characteristic: whether it's a live broadcast or a separate reporter interview program, the space agency seems to be making no secrets.
Previously, it was forbidden to take photos of the Shenzhou manned spacecraft and the Long March 2F manned rocket, but now it is allowed.
This greatly increased the program's appeal, making space enthusiasts thoroughly enjoy it, and ordinary people also found it entertaining.
For example, it demonstrated a unique way in which the Long March 2F manned rocket unlocks and opens the two halves of the fairing.
China and Laos have many cargo rocket series, but the "opening" action of most rocket fairings is to use pyrotechnic devices to unlock and separate them.
To put it bluntly, it's like "exploding".
However, the Long March 2F rocket is quite special. It is the first in China to use a mechanical locking mechanism. The characteristic of this "lock" is that it is linked at multiple points, somewhat like the cabin door of an airplane.
Mechanical locks are chosen for unlocking because they have high load-bearing capacity, higher security and reliability, and advantages such as being detectable, measurable, and reusable.
The unique nature of manned rockets dictates that the rocket fairing unlocking device must meet the requirements of both normal flight and escape flight, and withstand a certain load pressure during escape flight.
After detailed calculations, the research team determined the number of locks, connection force, and spatial layout, and ultimately used a total of 32 locks of 5 different specifications as the fairing unlocking mechanism.
The 32 locks are distributed in different positions, sizes, and spacings, and are connected by levers, each lever being like a string on a musical instrument.
Compared to the separation and unlocking of pyrotechnic devices, this mechanism requires that the unlocking force not be too great, and the lock must be strong enough to prevent large deformations during transportation, hoisting, and other processes.
During unlocking, these 32 locks must be released simultaneously within a time of no more than 0.1 seconds for the fairing to "open".
The fairing unlocking mechanism is directly related to the safety of astronauts, acting like a series of "life locks".
The entire lifecycle of this mechanism undergoes rigorous inspection and testing to ensure that every lock installed meets functional and performance requirements.
In closing, the research and development team stated, "We will continue to improve the safety and reliability of manned rockets through technological advancements and process optimizations..."
However, the audience roughly understood that the Shenzhou spacecraft and the Long March 2F manned rocket were probably really going to be retired, which is why they were shown so clearly.
The improvement of technology and optimization of processes will likely be applied to manned lunar landing rockets.
Indeed, this is the case. Neither the Shenzhou manned spacecraft nor the Long March 2F manned rocket are currently in production within the aerospace system. There are three sets in stock, not counting the one that is about to be launched.
However, it has been basically confirmed that this is the penultimate launch, and there will be one more launch at the end of October, and then no more launches.
The remaining two sets are for backup purposes.
If it is determined that they are no longer needed after a few years, they will be displayed in a museum.
On the 30th, the Shenzhou-16 launch live broadcast room was quite lively.
Wow, the live stream footage is so high-definition, and some shots are incredibly close!
This is unprecedented. It seems the Shenzhou spacecraft and the old manned rockets are really going to be retired.
[I think so too. We did quite a few related programs a few days ago, and it felt like we covered everything about the Shenzhou spacecraft and the Long March 2F manned rocket, inside and out!]
[I do have that feeling; I reckon it'll really have to be retired after one or two more launches.]
They've been through a lot, they deserve a rest...
