Two Worlds: I studied abroad at Hogwarts

Chapter 32: Magical Things Will Always Be Protected

Moon didn't know how much Uncle Neil paid Zalan to make this fierce-looking forest ranger so dedicated.

Even though he knew it was very dangerous to patrol the mountains at night, the one-eyed strong man would still light a torch and lead the way.

"Okay, this is the place to observe the tallest trees over a hundred years old in the forest farm. I hope you can find what you're looking for."

Zalan's hope did not come true. Moon sat on the big rock on the top of the mountain all night, his eyes were sore, but he still found nothing.

The next day, the two continued to move deeper, and they were now approaching the center of Black Iron Mountain.

This place has long been out of the scope of the forest, and only some experienced hunters would enter such a deep forest.

Looking around at the dim environment, Moon found that the trees here no longer looked like those artificially planted in a forest farm.

Every tree grew in a strange shape. As soon as Zalan entered here, he held the bow and arrow tightly in his hand.

As for the matchlock shotgun, it has become a secondary weapon because its firing speed is not fast enough.

Moon also had an intuitive feeling at this time. The white air he exhaled made him know that the temperature here was obviously colder than outside.

"Uncle Zalan, if you can't find us today, let's go out first."

The Forbidden Forest at Hogwarts is very dangerous, which Moon was told at the beginning of the school year, but he didn't know what the Forbidden Forest was like.

It was not until he stepped into the forest filled with thousand-year-old trees that he truly and intuitively felt the power of nature.

Dim light, silence, spooky trees, and the sudden appearance of strange white fog.
"Okay, there happens to be a hunters' resting place nearby. We'll go out after tonight."

Moon agreed and strictly followed Zalan's instructions, never acting alone no matter what he did.

Because the rest point was quite far away and the mountain road was difficult to walk on, Moon and his companions only arrived at this narrow cave when it was dark.

This cave can only accommodate three people at most, and there are some traces of fire inside. Zalan used his feet to dig out the ashes, and his expression relaxed a little.

"Two groups of people have been here in the past week. It seems there won't be any danger nearby for the time being."

After hearing the professional's analysis, Moon relaxed a little.

After walking for three consecutive days, coupled with today's tense environment, Moon's nerves have been tense.

"We have to get some water first, otherwise by midnight there might be some big guys coming out to feed."

Zalan was not comfortable leaving Moon alone in the cave, so the two of them walked along the ridge towards a small valley.

When they reached the top of the mountain ridge and had a wider view, Moon discovered that there was actually a green fluorescent light floating up from the other side of the valley.

"What's wrong? Did you find what you were looking for?"

Zalan, who was leading the way, looked back in surprise at Moon who had not caught up.

"Yes, it's on the other side of the valley." Moon pointed excitedly.

Zalan looked over and all he could see was a dark area on the opposite side.

"It's really worth our three days of running around. Let's go! Let's check out the place today, and then we'll get our stuff tomorrow and leave."

Zalan already knew that the wood that Moon was looking for would only reveal its characteristics at night, so he wanted to check it out regardless of the danger.

When they came to this valley along the river valley, both of them were dumbfounded.

This valley is not too far from the rest point, but the entrance is hidden by lush weeds, so it has become a small uninhabited area.

If Moon hadn't seen the magical fluorescent light drifting outward, they wouldn't have come to this place.

"It seems that what you are looking for is really a treasure."

Zalan and Moon lay in the grass in the distance, looking at a wild pear tree not far ahead. Moon showed a surprised expression at this time. He thought he was just scouting the place, but when they got closer, they found that there was actually a big snake guarding this wild fruit tree.

Looking at the big snake that should have been hibernating in the cold season coiled on the mountain pear tree, Moon was reminded of the Bowtruckle at Hogwarts.

"Could this giant snake also be a magical creature?"

Moon was still thinking when Zalan suddenly pulled him up and ran back the way he came.

"There's something wrong with this snake. It can actually hear us talking from such a distance."

As a person who travels through the mountains and forests all year round, Zalan's running speed is not slow, and Moon is also very fast because he often chases small animals in the hazelnut forest.

But even so, they were still no match for the giant snake that was more than ten meters long.

rustling.
There was the sound of something huge moving through the weeds behind me.

When they arrived at the valley, Moon was about to cross the river, but Zalan grabbed him.

"The other side is uphill, and it's faster than us in the water. We can only run upstream. There's a narrow gap there, and the big snake can't get in!"

Moon was very obedient and followed Zalan upstream without any hesitation.

Sure enough, after running for a distance, Moon saw the narrow gap that Zalan mentioned.

This is a narrow valley that can only be entered sideways, and the river flows right through it.

It was very easy for Moon to get into the narrow gap, but it took Zalan a lot of effort. Even though he threw away a lot of unused things, he got stuck after only getting two meters deep.

But this was enough. The big snake outside could only reach in with its tongue to touch his face.

"Oh, oh, damn! What did this beast eat that smells so bad!"

Zalan did not enjoy the face-washing service for too long. After the big snake found that it could not reach the two people, it disappeared outside the narrow gap.

"Animals in the mountains are very smart, especially snakes, so it's best for us to stay here for one night and go out during the day."

Moon fully approved of Zalan's approach. He knew that some animals would also ambush and hunt, and they had unfortunately become the ambushed prey.

Without the harassment of the big snake, the only sound that could be heard in the crack was the gurgling sound of water and the croaking of frogs in the distance.

Perhaps because of the intense trekking for three consecutive days, Zalan actually fell asleep leaning against the mountain wall in the second half of the night.

Moon looked at the rugged man with great envy. He had only heard Neil say that he had developed the ability to sleep standing up while serving in the army, but he didn't expect to see it for real today.

After an unknown amount of time, Moon's eyelids finally started to droop. When he was about to fall asleep, a flash of fluorescence from deep within the slit instantly woke him up.

Looking back at Zalan who was still sleeping soundly in the crevice, Moon hesitated for a moment and walked towards the depths of the crevice.

The deeper they went, the narrower the canyon became, until after they emerged from a small hole, the view in front of Moon suddenly became open.

This is the middle of the mountain, surrounded by cliffs, with only a cave entrance through which a river flows connecting to the outside.

But what really surprised Moon was not the small valley, but the huge willow tree standing in the center of the valley.

Moon was certain this was a plant with magical properties.

Because it was surrounded by green fluorescence, illuminating the valley shrouded in darkness as if it were daytime.

Moon remembers very clearly that of the willow tree he planted outside the greenhouse, only one branch showed magical properties.

The grapevines only appeared in a magical range of two meters on the main trunk.

But the willow tree in front of him, which required more than a dozen people to hug, was emitting green fluorescence from its entire trunk.
