Chapter 42 The First Wand

October 1991, 10, Saturday evening.

In Greenhouse One behind Hogwarts Castle.

A wand with the smell of green wood was born.

Stick body: willow wood.

Wand core: unicorn tail hair.

Length: eleven and three-quarter inches.

The expected joy and satisfaction did not arrive on time.

Moon is now filled with anxiety.

He couldn't even re-enter the trance-like state he had just entered when making the wand.

It was a wonderful state, and Moon was immersed in it, with the wand being the only thing in his mind.

Moon even felt that in this state, all his movements slowed down, which gave him enough time to execute each step.

But Moon knew that in reality, his movements had not slowed down.

"It's such a strange and beautiful magic."

Moon sighed and carefully observed the wand in his hand.

The new wand was shorter than the one he bought from Ollivander's, and had a distinct bluish dampness to it.

"It seems there is no problem now, but we still need to experiment."

Putting the wand into his wizard robe, Moon picked up Bengbeng and walked out of the castle.

Now he was going to the final step in wand making: verification.

Moon clearly remembered testing the wand when he bought it at Ollivander's.

He had simply waved his wand and every wand box in Ollivander's had jumped up.

Such a scene must not happen in a greenhouse, otherwise Moon would face more than just being deducted points.

The evening scenery outside the school was very beautiful. Moon ran into three pairs of senior students along the way.

It was not until he followed Bengbeng's instructions and came to the edge of the Black Lake that there was no one around to disturb him.

"Haw!"

“So you caught fish here.”

Moon looked around and found that this was indeed a blind spot. Only the tall castle buildings in the distance could see this place.

After making sure there would be no hindrance, Moon let Bengbeng run into the bushes in the distance.

Moon was not confident at all about the 'opening test' of the new wand.

For safety reasons, he could only let Bengbeng hide far away.

Holding the new wand that still smelled moist, Moon waved it gently.

Uh~, there was no reaction around.

Again.

Still no response.

"Oh, it seems it still doesn't work." Moon turned his head with some disappointment.

Just as he was about to call Bongbong out to go back and make the next wand together, the little guy ran out from the bushes chirping.

Its little paws were always pointing behind Moon.

At this time, Moon also noticed something unusual. He heard the sound of waves hitting the shore behind him.

Wow~
Wow~
Moon turned his head suddenly and saw that the Black Lake, which had been calm just now, was now rippling.

"Did it succeed?"

Moon still couldn't believe it. He picked up his wand again and cast a transfiguration spell on the dead branches scattered on the ground.

A long silver needle appeared.

"Really!"

"Ha!"

Moon no longer remembered how he returned to the castle that night. He only remembered that the 'fluorescent flash' emitted by the new wand illuminated the way in the darkness.

However, the 'opening test' of the new wand is not over yet.

Shortly after Moon left the Black Lake, a huge black shadow emerged from the water.

A giant squid searched for a long time at the place where Moon had just stood, until the special magic just dissipated, and it reluctantly returned to the bottom of the lake.

The squids weren't the only ones disturbed; the mermaid leader also protested to the school that night. However, Moon was unaware of this.

After testing his wand, he went straight to the Great Hall.

At this time, some young wizards who had eaten late were still eating, and Moon joined them.

After finishing a serving of jam pudding, Moon was about to put down his cutlery, but his hand stopped in mid-air.

From the reflection of the silver spoon, Moon discovered that his wizard bar was more than half a bar.

He brought the spoon closer, checked it carefully, then picked up the golden plate and looked at it carefully.

Only at this time did Moon dare to confirm that his wizard bar had indeed exceeded half a bar.

Looking back at Malfoy at the Slytherin table, Moon found that his wizard bar was as long as his.

In other words, one month after he entered school, his magical skills caught up with the second tier of freshmen.

"What are you looking at, poor boy!"

Malfoy's voice came, interrupting Moon's thoughts.

"Nothing, good night!"

Moon had no interest in arguing with anyone today because he didn't want to ruin the great happiness he was currently experiencing.

"Is he sick?"

Malfoy was also a little overwhelmed by Moon's answer.

Moon did nothing else the whole day on Sunday. He quietly finished all his Transfiguration and Potions homework in the library.

The huge joy did not cloud Moon's mind. He knew that he had to adjust his condition to the best next.

This is the only way to ensure that the wand production is completed in Xilin.

During dinner, Moon gave Cedric the remaining magical wood.

It was a long time after Moon left that Cedric recovered from his shock.

"That's impossible~"

In fact, Cedric had already prepared for not receiving any wood before Christmas.

Because he never thought that first years could make wands.

But now he was holding an intact willow tree in his hand, which could only mean that Moon had succeeded.

Cedric didn't sleep well all night after returning to the Hufflepuff common room. He decided to ask Moon for an explanation tomorrow.

However, Moon could only give the answer Cedric wanted seven days later.

That night, Moon returned to Xilin's wooden house. Only after making sure that the branch given by the big willow tree was still there did he fall asleep peacefully.

Over the next two days, while waiting for news from Brad, Moon polished out the prototypes of three magic wands.

The proportions were exactly based on the shape of the wand he bought from Ollivander.

Just when he was about to start cutting up the bones on the third day, Brad came with a map.

"This map was really hard to find. I searched the whole house until I finally found it in a small booklet in the cellar."

Brad said this and sat down on Moon's small bed, picking up a sweet potato that was roasted on the fire.

“This is too abstract.”

After opening the map, Moon's joyful expression disappeared.

Because he found that the map was not only very tattered, but also the contents inside were very

These strange symbols are all over the map.

"This is the doodle map my grandfather drew."

Graffiti, yes.

Moon remembered that the last time he saw a work of this style was in his cousin Sophia's textbook.

"But I can't understand it at all." Moon threw the map back to Brad.

The young stable boy obviously valued the map very much. When he saw the paper flying towards him, he quickly let go of the sweet roasted sweet potato in his hand and held the map steadily in his hand.

"Be careful! This is the secret of our Wrangler family. Of course, we can't let outsiders understand it."

Although he has become a horse-breeding servant in the monastery, Brad obviously yearns for his family's past.

"Brad, I really, really need to know where that mysterious herd of wild horses is."

"I know."

"Then why are you giving me this kind of thing?"

"But didn't I come here in person?"
