Two Worlds: I studied abroad at Hogwarts

Chapter 79 Dealing with Brother Leighton

Chapter 79 Dealing with Brother Leighton
The fire in the cabin burned all night until the sun rose. Brad saw smoke rising into the sky in the distance and rushed to the hazelnut forest.

"I knew you could do it!"

Brad's arrival made Moon relax a lot.

Zalan fell asleep without a word yesterday and hasn't woken up yet. Moon could only stay by his side.

Now, two nights have passed since the trap was set, and Moon has not slept a wink.

So after giving Brad some instructions, Moon fell into a deep sleep.

When Moon opened his eyes again, he was lying on the wooden bed that belonged to him in Neil's house.

Looking at the familiar environment around him, Moon's tense heart completely relaxed.

Brad, who had been guarding the bed, smiled with relief when he saw Moon wake up.

"You're finally awake. Uncle Neil should be relieved."

"Neil? What happened to him?"

When Moon heard Brad mention Neil, he subconsciously nervous.

"Nothing, he went out with the uncle carrying the arrow."

"Where did they go?"

Under Moon's questioning, Brad explained everything that happened today.

This morning, shortly after Brad arrived at the hazelnut forest, Neil, who had just returned from patrol, also noticed black smoke rising above the farm.

Neil, who thought that bandits had attacked the farm, led twenty veterans to the Hazelnut Forest Cabin.

Looking at the mess on the ground, including a familiar and horrible corpse, Neil asked Brad about the whole incident.

Then after Zalan woke up at noon, the two quarreled again.

However, the argument didn't last long because Brad reminded them that they had missed one person.

"You mean to say that twenty or so of them have gone out of the city to look for Brother Leighton?"

"That's right, you didn't see how excited they were when they set off one by one."

"Excited? Not really!"

In Moon's opinion, the biggest threat now, the Night Owl, has been dealt with, and the only remaining threat is Brother Leighton who tipped off the enemy. There is no need to send out so many people.

Especially now that the situation outside is not peaceful, it would be safest to leave more people at home.

"Of course not! When Uncle Neil and the others were arguing, everyone knew that you were a spellcaster! And a spellcaster who could defeat Night Owl!"

Brad was also a little excited when he said this. He didn't understand why Neil wanted to hide Moon's identity at the beginning.

In his opinion, becoming a spellcaster is definitely a very powerful thing, especially since Moon defeated Night Owl twice.

After hearing what Brad said, Moon knew why the veterans were so excited.

To outsiders, the spellcaster is likely to be someone who needs to be flattered.

But for those who have watched Moon grow up, the spellcaster represents a powerful protective force.

Especially during the upcoming war, having a spellcaster who can defeat the [Night Owl] by their side means that they and their families will have a greater chance of surviving the war.

Moon actually understands everyone's thoughts very well, and he himself has no objection to being the guardian of his family and friends.

Especially when Moon was a child, he often saw similar scenes.

Neil, Daisy, and anyone who can will lend a hand to neighbors in need.

Seeing Moon thinking about something, Brad did not interrupt him, but took out a black package from the side and placed it on the bed.

"These are the things you left with you when you fell asleep in the woods. I've brought them all back for you."

The black package was exactly the clothes that Moon took off from Night Owl.

Because he had nothing else at the time, he could only use the tattered clothes as a package.

He undressed again and saw the scimitar, hidden arrow, and glass bottle inside.

Without thinking, Moon picked up the machete and handed it to Brad. "This knife is for you."

"Isn't this bad?"

"What's wrong with that? I don't know how to use a knife, and Zalan didn't take it away. Besides, I remember you were very good at using a saber."

Brad actually always carries a family saber with him, which has been passed down from his grandfather's generation.

But because the material is not very good, there are many rust and chipped spots on the blade.

The moment Moon got the scimitar from Night Owl, he immediately thought of him.

Although Brad did not contribute in the battle, he took the risk to report the news in advance and was the first to run to the hazelnut forest afterwards.

Based on these, Moon believed that the saber should belong to Brad.

"Then I'll accept it."

After Brad took the saber, he couldn't wait to pull it out.

Moon didn't know what material the saber was made of, but when he saw the cold light flashing across the blade, he knew that the knife must be very sharp.

Brad rubbed the chair lightly with the saber, and a piece of wood chip fell off instantly, leaving the cut on the chair smooth and flat.

"As expected of a weapon used by Night Owl."

After seeing how sharp the saber was, Brad happily began to wave it around in the cabin.

The sound of their discussion also attracted Daisy who was cooking outside.

"Moon, you're taking a huge risk this time. Why didn't you tell us in advance?"

After hearing Daisy's harsh accusation, Brad gestured to Moon and quietly left the room.

"Aunt, don't just talk about it. I have something here that Jay might be able to use. Can you see if you can modify it or cut it open and sew it again?"

What Moon was talking about was naturally the black clothes taken off from Night Owl.

Last night's explosion and arrows failed to completely destroy it, which made Moon realize the value of this piece of clothing.

When Daisy first saw how tattered the clothes were, she was a little hesitant.

But after hearing Moon explain its effects, her expression turned serious.

"Moon, you should keep this thing."

"Aunt, don't say any more. Jay actually needs it more than I do."

Daisy could actually understand what Moon meant. Although Jay was only in his third year at the military academy, he would be sent to the battlefield sooner or later.

But if he had such a piece of clothing, he could avoid most dangers on the battlefield.

Thinking of this, Daisy sighed and took the clothes.

"Okay, I'll change it up and have your uncle send it to Jay as soon as possible."

Yesterday afternoon, after Brother Leighton conveyed the news to Night Owl that Moon was likely the target, he had been waiting in the church.

As the lowest-level secret guard in the Maynila Empire, he is well aware of the power of the Night Owl.

So he had packed his bags long ago, ready to wait for Night Owl to come back and return to the Maynila Empire together.

He had had enough of spending ten years in this remote and poor place called Xilin.

But he didn't see the Night Owl return until the next morning, which made Brother Leighton feel something was wrong.

After arriving outside the farm and confirming that Night Owl had failed, he immediately returned to the monastery, picked up the package he had packed yesterday, and left the city.

Brother Leighton knew that he had been exposed, so after leaving the city from the west, he immediately got off the carriage and changed direction to continue his escape.

It was not until the evening when he was about to board the ship that Zalan blocked him at the dock.
