Hogwarts: Starting with full Unforgivable Curses
Chapter 121: First Day of School, Lockhart Angered the Herbology Professor
Chapter 121: First Day of School, Lockhart Annoys the Herbology Professor
When Dylan saw the two men come back, he put away the book in his hand, stood up, walked to the bed, picked up the most recent issue of "Today's Transfiguration" on the bed, and began to put it away.
He stacked the journals by month, and magically creased the parchment footers with the Hawkwood family crest.
He did not have the summer magazines sent to his home, but instead had them all sent to Hogwarts.
"So, what punishment did you receive?"
"Ah? You really didn't guess it?" Ron was stunned.
Dylan blinked. "Didn't you say I wouldn't be able to guess?"
Ron smiled awkwardly, scratched his head, and then collapsed in the floral armchair and wailed, "Hey! Professor Snape originally wanted us to accept Filch's arrangement and clean chamber pots for a whole semester! Otherwise, we will leave Hogwarts!"
Dylan raised an eyebrow. "Whose chamber pot?"
"Filch's, of course!" grumbled Ron, his freckles becoming more pronounced with embarrassment, his fingers unconsciously tugging at the tassel of the armchair.
Harry covered his arm and looked relieved: "Fortunately, although Professor McGonagall is angry——"
"I was almost scared to death by her expression!" Ron added.
Harry nodded in agreement, then continued, "But Professor McGonagall and Professor Dumbledore showed up after all. They just gave us detention and sent us to school, but they didn't make us do anything else."
"No points were deducted either," Ron added.
Dylan looked at the two of them and always felt that they were tending to develop into Weasley twins.
How come every time we talk, we have to talk back and forth?
"It's just solitary confinement, which is actually not bad."
Dylan's nose twitched, and he suddenly smelled a strange smell. He looked at Ron's pocket.
"Think positively." Dylan flicked his wand, and a toy poop egg floated out of Ron's pocket, scaring Ron.
"At least you set a new record for Hogwarts' transportation, didn't you?"
Dylan threw the toy poop into the wastebasket.
—The anti-odor rune that Dylan had carved on the edge of the wastebasket glowed faintly, transforming the odor into a light minty scent.
"Hey! When did they put that thing in my pocket?" Ron stared.
Harry also blinked his eyelashes: "I was wondering why I felt a strange smell along the way. I thought it was the exhaust of the car."
Dylan didn't care much about whether Harry and the others would be put in solitary confinement. In fact, Dylan felt that being put in solitary confinement was actually a good thing.
——This means that he can stay in the Forbidden Forest openly.
Of course, for Harry, many of his current actions can be regarded as tests from Dumbledore.
Dumbledore needed a savior to truly grow, which naturally required many hardships.
——Dylan doesn't want to get involved in everything.
"I don't know if Quirrell has said anything to Old Dumbledore after all this time."
When he confronted Quirrell, he completely denied using the Unforgivable Curses on Quirrell in the Forbidden Forest.
However, he was wearing an invisibility cloak at the time, and the people who attacked Quirrell would also be invisible.
Dylan felt that this alone was a huge flaw.
Even if he had been vague about the invisibility cloak at the time, perhaps others would have thought he was borrowing Harry's invisibility cloak.
But he couldn't be sure whether Old Deng would suspect him because of this.
But he is just a child, so there shouldn't be anything suspicious, right?
After all, the person who attacked Quirrell had to be at least an adult wizard who mastered extremely advanced black magic.
——How could a little brat have the ability to cast the Unforgivable Curses so many times?
During this period of time, even if he occasionally robbed dark wizards, no one cared about him.
Dylan felt that even if Dumbledore racked his brains, the best he could do was to combine the people who attacked Quirrell with Karsus who appeared during the summer vacation.
"It shouldn't be possible to contact me."
Dylan pondered to himself.
"I didn't expect that my young age would become a protective amulet for me."
Ron and Harry's journey to school was very thrilling. They rested in the dormitory for a long time before they recovered.
Until Seamus and Neville also returned to the dormitory.
Neville was holding a pot of brightly colored flowers, planning to place it in his dormitory as a potted plant decoration.
The exploding card Seamus accidentally threw sent rainbow-colored sparks flying behind him, startling the portrait of the Fat Lady on the wall outside so that it hid in the adjacent frame.
"Hey, what are you doing~!"
Ron jumped up and slapped the magic sparks that splashed on his trouser legs, but he found that they were actually harmless fireworks modified by the twins. He finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Close the dormitory door.
After Neville and the others saw Harry and the others, they immediately started chatting.
At this time, Ron was no longer tired. Colorful magic sparks were burning on his legs, and he was chatting happily with Neville and the others, his face flushed.
Dylan flipped through "Transfiguration Today" for a while and learned a lot of new knowledge and quite novel perspectives on Transfiguration.
It wasn't until it was time to go to bed that he cleaned himself up and then lay down on the bed.
After driving all day, he felt a little sleepy, so he didn't summon the coal balls, but fell asleep instead.
Ron and the others were also talking until they were exhausted. Finally, they cleaned up and lay down on the bed.
Silent all night.
Until the next morning the sun poured in from the window.
Dylan went to the restaurant to eat with Neville and the others.
A few people just sat down and chose what they wanted to eat.
suddenly--
"Cuckoo!"
A slow-moving owl flew in from outside the door, and as if exhausted, it fell down just as it approached their table.
"Oh my god—Errol! Stop it!!"
Ron cried out in surprise, but there was nothing he could do to stop his old owl, which, like a fur ball out of control, dove headfirst into the Tremella and Lotus Seed Porridge in front of Dylan.
He fell hard.
The soup splashed.
The old owl continued to flutter.
Dylan hadn't expected Errol to reach into his bowl so quickly, but luckily his reaction was just as quick, preventing the juice from splashing onto him.
"Tergeo (Tornado sweeps away)!"
In an instant, a spiral cyclone burst out from the tip of Dylan's wand, forming a circular cyclone barrier around Errol at an extremely fast speed.
All the splashing juice was blocked by the barrier and swirled at the edge of the whirlwind.
As Dylan gently waved his wand, all the splashing soup was gathered together by the whirlwind and then thrown into an empty bowl by Dylan.
“Wingardium Leviosa.”
Errol slowly rose from his bowl of porridge and hovered in mid-air.
“Scourgify.”
A soft magical light enveloped Errol, cleaning away all the porridge stains and dirt on his body, and even his old and messy feathers became much fluffy and smoother.
"Cuckoo!"
Errol shook himself, placed the red envelope in his mouth in front of Ron, and then let out a crisp chirp.
Seeing the old owl she had seen during the summer vacation, Hermione asked Ron, "It's really old. When will you consider letting it go?"
Ron ignored Hermione. He stared at the red envelope in front of him, looking a little limp.
"A howling letter! I wonder who sent it to you?" Dylan brought out another breakfast and blinked. "It's really hard to guess."
Ron's face was ashen as death. He stared at the letter, his head shaking slightly. "It must be my mom! I feel like I'm going to get scolded again!"
"Think positively." Dylan cut the smoked salmon into thin slices, and the knife and fork made a crisp sound when they collided with the porcelain plate. "At least your father can take this opportunity to repair the magic flying car." "Don't think positively, he can't repair it at all. The car has been handed over to the Ministry of Magic by Hogwarts." Ron's eyes went dark.
Harry coughed aside. "I heard that Howlers are very dangerous. Anyway, you'd better open it, otherwise..."
Neville nodded in agreement.
"I know, I know. Otherwise, the consequences would be even more terrible."
——For example, the letter exploded directly.
—or chasing Ron and exploding.
Ron sighed deeply, his face pale as he looked at the red envelope and swallowed.
Finally, he made up his mind, gritted his teeth, picked up the roaring letter that seemed to weigh a thousand pounds, and slowly opened the wax seal.
——Dylan had already cast a silent spell on himself in advance.
Many young wizards who noticed the situation here also covered their ears.
Immediately afterwards——
"Billies Weasley-!!!"
Mrs. Molly's gentle voice was now filled with anger. Through the shouting letter, the volume was amplified dozens or hundreds of times, and it sounded like a thunder in the restaurant.
The howling letter fell on the table and stood upright in a human-like manner, the envelope's mouth opened and closed widely, and the ribbon on the wax seal looked like a tongue.
"How dare you? How dare you drive that car away secretly? You're driving me crazy! I'm ashamed of you--!!"
The angry voice made the candlesticks on the dining table sway slightly.
Many people from other colleges stopped what they were doing and looked at Ron.
Ron's face flushed crimson instantly, and he wished he could find a crack in the ground to crawl into. He lowered his head in embarrassment, his ears red as ripe tomatoes, and muttered, "Mom, I know I was wrong, don't say it anymore..."
"Do you know how we felt when we got home and found that the car was missing? And how ashamed your father and I were after receiving the joint letter from Professor McGonagall and Dumbledore last night?!"
"I can't believe you actually did such a thing. Your father is being investigated by the Ministry of Magic because of this! You almost caused Harry to lose his life along with you!"
Harry's mouth twitched, and he lowered his head deeply, covering his face with a spoon.
"If you keep making mistakes at Hogwarts, you're going to come back home! Do you hear me, Ron?"
Howler flicked the ribbon at Ron as if to stick out his tongue.
Then the letter suddenly turned to Dylan.
Dylan suddenly felt something was wrong.
"Oh, dear, I didn't have time to say hello properly at the station. Happy birthday to you."
"And Ginny, congratulations on joining Gryffindor. Your father and I are very proud of you."
After the howler finished its words, it spat at Ron again and then tore itself into pieces.
Dylan was silent for a moment, then he said, "It's pretty cool to be able to drive a magic car to school—it's a little dangerous though. Mrs. Molly is just worried about you."
Ron's hurt expression hadn't been saved by Dylan's words.
Dylan waved his wand, clearing away the envelope debris, and then continued, "Besides, your father is under investigation by the Ministry of Magic, and I'm not sure if he can keep his job. I completely understand Mrs. Molly's feelings."
Ron's expression changed again and again.
"Okay, the first period is Herbology. Let's finish our meal quickly and get ready for class."
Neville was sitting next to Dylan. When he heard that the first class of the new semester was Herbology, there was some excitement on his chubby face.
After Dylan spoke, the students from the surrounding colleges also started eating and no longer paid attention to this place.
Only some of the Slytherins would occasionally make some hehe-like laughter.
"Are they laughing at me?" Ron turned his head away.
"No, maybe they just have asthma." Dylan smiled.
Malfoy's face suddenly hardened.
But when Dylan looked over, he didn't dare to look at Dylan, but just lowered his head silently.
Damn Hawkwood!
After their last meeting in Diagon Alley, his father came home and scolded him severely!
It's all this annoying guy's fault!
And the same goes for my father, why does he have to mock others in front of them?
Your son didn’t get first place again!
In the end, he was ridiculed!
Malfoy angrily brandished his knife and fork at the small piece of breaded lamb chop in front of him.
Ron and Harry hurriedly finished their breakfast and left the restaurant.
Dylan didn't walk with them. Instead, he finished his meal slowly and walked towards the classroom side by side with Neville who was passing by.
"I haven't asked you how your vacation was. Is your summer vacation going well?"
Neville tugged at his bag strap with one hand and nodded in response with a smile: "Not bad, or rather very good."
"Professor Sprout often tells me some tips on growing flowers and plants - for example, adding a little moonstone powder to the soil will make the leaves of flowers more shiny. After I tried it, I found that the effect is very obvious!"
"This has helped me take good care of the flowers and plants at home and endeared me to Grandma. She even scolded me less often, hehe~"
Having said that, Neville's smile blossomed even brighter, with the corners of his mouth raised high and his eyes narrowed into slits.
"Yeah, that sounds really good." Dylan nodded.
"I haven't talked about you yet, what did you do during your summer vacation?" Neville asked.
"Well, verify some magical knowledge, do some experiments, and make money...that's about it."
"Wow, that sounds very fulfilling. You must have gained a lot, right?" Neville said enviously.
"What a harvest~" Dylan chuckled, "It's quite a harvest indeed."
At this moment, before the two of them approached the greenhouse, they saw Professor Sprout walking towards them, her fluffy hair swaying slightly with her hurried footsteps, and her eyes showing obvious displeasure.
She was accompanied by Ron and several other students.
Before Dylan could react, he heard Professor Sprout say, "There's a problem in Greenhouse 2. Let's go to Greenhouse 3 for class!"
It was the first time Dylan heard such an impolite tone from Professor Sprout.
——Neville is the same.
But soon, when Dylan saw Lockhart walking out from behind, he instantly understood why Professor Sprout was angry.
"Oh! It's Dylan. I only found out after I took over that you were the top student in the class last school year. I regret not treating you well in the bookstore back then."
Lockhart's laughter was so exaggerated that it made people frown.
He was wearing a lavender robe with a huge golden brooch at his collar, which was shaped like a relief of his own profile.
Lockhart flashed his signature bright smile to everyone present, his white teeth almost reflecting in the sunlight.
"Oh, you guys probably don't know what Professor Sprout and I were doing just now?"
"Harry asked how to treat injuries sustained by the Whomping Willow, so I gave Professor Sprout a simple demonstration. I don't think Professor Sprout knew much about it, did he?"
"Of course, I don't want you to think I'm better than Professor Sprout at Herbology. She's the real expert."
"It's just that I've encountered many magical and rare plants during my years of travel, which is why I'm able to understand this extremely tricky and rare knowledge."
In just the short time they had met, Lockhart had already launched into his lengthy speech.
Dylan turned around and followed Professor Sprout.
Neville also trotted over quickly.
"My God..." Neville clicked his tongue, "This professor's behavior is so exaggerated?"
"I really don't understand that. Some people might be just like that." Dylan shook his head.
Neville smacked his lips. "How pitiful! I think we should sympathize with him."
Hearing this, Dylan couldn't help but laugh: "You're right."
"But that professor took Harry away..." Neville was a little worried.
"Don't worry, Harry and the others were driving the magic car over here when they ran into the Whomping Willow in the Forbidden Forest and got injured accidentally. But it's not a big deal, and he will be here soon."
Dylan quickly followed Professor Sprout and said, "Come on, let's get ready for class."
