Chapter 72: Sneaking into the Forbidden Forest, Tea Leaf Divination

Chapter 72: Sneaking into the Forbidden Forest, Tea Leaf Divination

Harry, Neville and the others returned to the dormitory one after another.

Dylan read some more until bedtime, when he pretended to go to bed—and then actually fell asleep.

Harry and Ron looked at each other, lowered their voices, tidied themselves up, and climbed into bed.

Finally, in the dead of night, it was Coal that nudged Dylan's chest with its little head.

Dylan finally woke up.

"Why am I still asleep?"

Dylan checked the time and saw that it was almost midnight.

However, after a good night's sleep, he felt much more energetic and didn't even need to shake off his tiredness.

He turned to look at Harry and the others who were already fast asleep, quietly took out his invisible wizard robe and put it on, and his figure instantly became invisible.

"Sliencio (silent)!"

Dylan muttered to himself, waved his wand, and cast a silencing spell on himself.

He tiptoed out of bed and quietly slipped out of the dormitory.

Hogwarts was unusually quiet at night.

Filch was still patrolling the castle, and Dylan could hear his heavy footsteps from across two corridors.

"Oh! Maybe Filch should really give Mrs. Norris a good bath. The smell is almost bringing up the meal I had yesterday."

It was Dylan's first time to visit Hogwarts at night, but even though it was his first time, he skillfully avoided Filch and left the castle.

"Maybe I should put on Slytherin uniform, pretend to be discovered by Filch, and then deduct all the Slytherin points. That way Hermione won't have to worry about Professor Snape targeting Gryffindor."

When he arrived outside the Forbidden Forest, he saw Hagrid from afar holding a big lamp and patrolling back and forth to prevent anyone from sneaking into the Forbidden Forest or any creature from running out of the Forbidden Forest.

There was a dog following Hagrid's feet - it was Fang, who was huddled at Hagrid's feet, sticking to his thighs, and didn't dare to move far away.

Dylan did not approach Hagrid, but found a place with less grass and went straight into the Forbidden Forest.

The night was deep, and Dylan had just stepped into the edge of the forbidden forest when the smell of damp earth and rotten leaves hit him in the face.

The trees around are very tall, with branches crisscrossing each other, and there are a lot of thick fallen leaves on the ground.

Dylan kept the Silencing Spell on himself all the time, which made him make a slight "rustling" sound with every step he took, but the sound would also be eliminated by the power of the spell.

He did not take off his wizard robe and remained hidden.

Suddenly, a rustling sound came from the bushes next to me.

Dylan turned his head and, with the help of the faint light, saw a hedgehog-like creature covered with spikes busily searching for food in the pile of fallen leaves.

"Thorn boy?"

Dylan observed carefully. As he watched, although the little guy couldn't see him, he seemed to sense something. He raised his head, with spikes all over his body, and his little head turned back and forth.

"The intuition of living things."

Dylan did not disturb the little guy from foraging. The materials on the thorny guy's body were not very attractive to him, nor were they worth his personal effort.

Besides, it was too troublesome to collect the materials from the assassin, so he might as well just buy them directly.

Not far away, Dylan found a patch of grass emitting a soft blue light.

Take a closer look.

"Glow grass, it's not too precious, but since I'm here, I might as well take some. I need to make an illumination potion in the next potions class."

Squatting down, Dylan collected some and then put them into the inventory of the system panel.

As they continued to go deeper into the Forbidden Forest, the trees grew taller and denser. Dylan could occasionally see mushrooms that glowed with strange lights. "They're all poisonous mushrooms that you can't even touch."

The forbidden forest is rich in species and is home to many magical creatures.

Dylan paused and looked at the horseshoe prints ahead.

Dylan observed from above.

"Is it a centaur, or a unicorn?"

Dylan recalled the records in the book "Treasure House of Magical Creatures".

"To specifically analyze the owner of the horseshoe print, the easiest way to tell is to look at the weight."

The front hooves of a centaur are much heavier than the hind hooves, and this sign will be very obvious.

An ordinary horse, or even a unicorn, has more power in its hind hooves, but when walking normally, it is definitely more balanced than a horse or a human.

Dylan observed it and found that the hoof prints were not uneven, nor were they deep in the front and shallow in the back. Obviously, these might be the footprints of ordinary horse-like magical creatures.

Dylan straightened up. "Of course, it could also be a unicorn."

However, unicorns are difficult to spot, and he didn't think he would be so lucky to see a unicorn as soon as he came in.

As he continued walking, Dylan couldn't help but chuckle to himself, "If I could really see a unicorn, I'd love to grind some unicorn horn powder."

Along the way, he had picked up a lot of materials.

Poisonous aconite, blackroot that can counteract spells, and two-eared grass for making polyjuice potion
But after searching for a long time, he found that he seemed a little lost.

"Strange, I clearly planned my route, but as soon as I got here, I seemed to be in the wrong place."

He still hasn't found any trace of the eight-eyed giant spider.

"Hagrid's presence in the Forbidden Forest is quite noticeable, but he doesn't seem to frequent the Acromantula's territory very often."

This resulted in Dylan being unable to use the traces of Hagrid clearing the way on the ground to find the Acromantula.

"In this case."

Dylan stopped, took out a piece of tea from his arms, and squatted down beside a moss-covered boulder.

"Fortunately, I learned a lot of divination knowledge from Professor Trelawney. Now I'm just looking for a way, and it just happened to come in handy."

Especially the tea leaf divination technique, which he specially asked Professor Trelawney to teach him. It is convenient and fast, and is very consistent with the oriental divination effect.

Dylan held the tea leaves in his hand and took out a glass of water from his inventory.

Since there was no limit on what could be placed in the inventory, Dylan stuffed a lot of things in there just in case.

He raised his wand and waved it gently.

“Calefacio (heat it up quickly)!”

A stream of magic flowed from the wand and poured into the cup of water in front of him.

Soon, the cold water in the cup was heated rapidly until it boiled.

Dylan put the tea leaves in at the right time, letting them roll and rotate in the water, gradually expanding.

When the tea gradually cooled, he drank most of it in one gulp, leaving the tea leaves in it. Then, he picked up the teacup and gently rotated it three times to let the tea leaves sink to the bottom of the cup.

Dylan stared at the tea leaves, silently thinking about the direction of the eight-eyed giant spider in his heart. Until the tea leaves were completely settled, he found that some strange patterns seemed to have formed on the tea leaves.

On the middle leaf vein, Dylan saw a huge arrow pointing at him.

"Ok?"
