Durin's Diary

Chapter 122: Coming to the North with Talent

Chapter 122: Coming to the North with Talent

Before the carriage came to a complete stop, Lady Saleen was the first to jump down. The Feather Fall technique allowed her to land safely, but the Skua beastman who followed her was not so lucky. He failed to control his body position and rolled twice on the ground, and then began his death roll performance.

Madam Salin stopped him with her magic hand—otherwise he would have gone into the pond to feed the fish the next second.

"Salin, can't you be so impatient?" The orc who was picked up by the magician looked unhappy.

"Mason, that's the goddess's favorite child."

"I... okay, okay, I know you're anxious, but it's pointless for us to rush over now. He hasn't learned any vocal music and has never taken any lessons from me. Even if I come now, I can only do my best and leave the rest to fate. I've heard that strange and evil player is a very evil thing."

The director of the School of Arts and the best vocal instructor walked into the small building, and Fisher personally greeted them.

Mrs. Salin did not like the head of the secret police because he gave her a very cold feeling, like a wizard feeling uncomfortable seeing a legendary assassin.

But now she was more curious about the hesitation on his face: "What's wrong? You look constipated."

"Well, it's nothing. I'm just curious and want to ask, has Mr. Du Lin really never studied vocal music in your school?" Fisher asked.

This infuriated Madam Salin. "What do you mean? Dulin's class is public information. Do you not trust us? Or do you not trust the credibility of an academy with nearly a thousand years of history? Or do you still think Dulin is lying?"

"No, I really just asked because... well, how should I put it..." Fisher led the way. His expression made Mason, the instructor behind Saleen, look suspicious. "Hey, you, don't tell me that Du Lin messed up the score and is now cursed!"

"That's impossible. I know Dulin. He won't do anything without confidence." Saleen shook her head.

But she was also very nervous, as the words spoken by the secret police chief in front of her were somewhat confusing.

Just as she was thinking this, Salin followed Fisher into the corridor and saw a strange sight - her lover Ish and a number of secret police staff were gathered at a door. They had dull expressions, as if they were under a spell of immobilization.

But Saleen understood that there was no way that Ish could be immobilized. Even if she tried her best, she could not immobilize Ish. The only ones in the world who could immobilize Ish were gods and the luckiest people.

So she and Mason went to the door.

The strange player remained silent, while Du Lin sat on the sofa next to it. He took three sips of honey water and then said, "What do you think of this music?"

Music? Salin looked at the projection screen hanging on the wall in surprise. Shooting it in the style of a movie?
Mason was a small animal, and after a few jumps he couldn't see the scene, so he could only look at Fisher.

Fisher was looking at a half-elf: "Is it over?"

"Yes, it took less than three minutes, Boss. It was over in the time it took you to go out and pick someone up."

"Damn it! I've never hated myself so much for not being a portal-opening mage as I do today." Fisher sighed as he looked down at Lord Ish. "Sir, what do you think?"

"Ah, yes, feeling, Salin, my good girl come here."

The call from Ish brought Salin to his side. She sat on the sofa and squeezed Ish.

"Is there anything wrong, Yishi?" When facing her lover, Salin always looks affectionate.

Yi Xu scratched his nose and said, "My great grandson just showed us his amazing talent in music. I think we should find a good teacher for him. Please, dear."

As Ish was saying this, everyone heard the psychic whispers of the sealed object.

I am moved, my child. I am so moved. It has been a long time since I heard such pleasant music. It has been so long that I have forgotten how long it has been. Thank you, my child. Now I can have a good dream.

Everyone's attention was focused on the seal, only to see its red glow gradually fade away. A staff member holding an ornament walked to the side of the seal. He tested it for a while, then looked at the door in surprise: "If the instrument is correct, it will have a safe period of at least seventeen months!" "My World Tree, I've never heard of this thing having a safe period of more than six months." An elf-like staff member exclaimed.

"I haven't even heard of it in three months," a human employee added.

Mason trotted over to Du Lin and said, "Kid, can you play the musical we talked about again?"

"It's not a musical, just a short piece of music. I felt that the music was missing something, so I added some visuals." Du Lin's answer made Salin smile - look at this child, he is really humble, no wonder he makes even the gods happy.

He reached out and restarted the projector. Saleen turned her attention to the projection screen.

Then she saw the golden hall.

Hundreds of band members sat on a semicircular stepped seating arrangement. A conductor who looked like a prairie elf held an ivory stick in his hand and directed the band in a way that Salin had never seen before.

And next to him, there is a lady with the red skin unique to the Savoys. Is she a singer?

When the music started, Salin nodded. It was indeed as Ish said, Du Lin had musical talent, but it did not seem to be qualified to be called amazing.

Then she heard the singer's voice.

The singing is beautiful.

The more she listened, the more Salin felt that this ordinary voice contained extremely beautiful lyrics, which seemed to be singing the praises of the existence of movies.

Salin couldn't help but hug Ish until the singing stopped, until the music ended, she clapped her hands in satisfaction.

Mason was different. He grabbed Dulin's hands and said, "Son, come learn vocal music from me. Your talent makes me tremble. I have never been so moved as I am today."

"But Mr. Mason, I have classes in the morning." Du Lin said with a worried look on his face.

He is such a good boy, Salin thought.

"That's fine. I can move the first-year classes to the afternoon. Anyone who disagrees can submit a work that rivals yours." The giant squirrel looked delighted. He gave Du Lin a big hug after he finished speaking. "By the way, let's play it again. I just thought your golden hall was truly amazing. When we get back, I'll have Sean ask His Majesty for money. The Academy of Arts needs a brand new music hall. Seriously."

Du Lin smiled and started playing again.

Saleen also saw the golden hall again.

This time, she saw many things she had not noticed before - such as the portrait of the goddess of art and beauty. Unlike the one in the temple, here, she was wearing an elegant long dress, with her long hair tied into thick braids hanging on her shoulders. The goddess, who had washed away her makeup, appeared in the picture as an elegant girl sitting by the pool and playing in the water.

For a moment, Saleen felt doubtful - is this the kind of beauty that a mortal like me can see?

Then she thought about whether she should let the academy and the temple prepare the statue first.

The temple has money, the only problem is... getting Durin to make a full-body projection of the statue, but this shouldn't be a difficult task.

Mrs. Salin was full of confidence. Thinking of this, she looked at Yi Xu and said, "I was worried before."

"Me too. It would be a lie to say I'm not worried. We all know how sinister the Sealed Object is." Ish sighed contentedly. "After this experience, I think Dulin will be more careful in the future."
