Durin's Diary

Chapter 31 Lublin at 4 AM

Chapter 31 Lublin at AM
Du Lin was woken up by Anta.

"Someone's outside the door."

Du Lin opened his eyes and looked out the window - it was pitch black and he couldn't see anything.

Standing up and crawling to the window, Dulin and Anta stuck their little heads out to look down.

Wow, there were seven carriages with their lights on, and dozens of grassland elves surrounded the gate of their manor, and someone was knocking on the door.

What was going on? Dulin opened the window, and Anta grabbed the little lynx that jumped onto the windowsill to prevent the little guy from falling out.

"Who is it!" Du Lin shouted loudly and took the gun handed to him by Anta.

"It's me! Old Patch! My little brother Dulin!" someone answered.

Du Lin breathed a sigh of relief: "It's old Patch from the Engineering School."

I thought that Anta's suitors discovered Anta was here and gathered people to come and kill him.

After putting on his clothes with Anta, Du Lin took the girl and opened the gate.

Then I saw that the fifteen people at the Engineering College’s Supreme Round Table were just sitting there doing nothing. Pah, only four of the fifteen Supreme Craftsmen had arrived.

The leader, Old Patch, is named Patch Kingston and has long wavy red hair.

He is a red dragon sorcerer, but in this world there is no distinction between metallic dragons and colored dragons.

He is the least arrogant among the fifteen supreme craftsmen, and this old man is also very warm to people. When Du Lin entered the Engineering College, it was he who came over to say hello.

"My lords, what's wrong with you?" Du Lin was confused.

"Ode, you tell me about your own business." Old Patch raised his eyebrows at Du Lin after saying that.

Ode, whose full name is Ode Louis, is a member of the Tallhoof tribe. He slowly walked up to Dulin. Because of the height difference, he finally chose to squat down and said, "My little Dulin, do you still remember the gift you gave to your butler?"

Du Lin nodded: "What's the matter, old Ode, I just gave him a hammer."

"Today, your housekeeper's grandson took a hammer to the High-hoofed Craftsmen's Challenge in Lublin City and smashed all the contestants' shields. The shields of the three grandchildren of the Ode family were also destroyed." The gloating laughter of another supreme craftsman came from behind.

Rudolf Big Toe, an old dwarf, is considered to be old Patch's best friend. The two of them are the youngest among the fifteen supreme craftsmen. His heartlessness almost makes Durin laugh out loud.

The Gaoti Craftsman Challenge is a challenge for young craftsmen of the Gaoti breed. It is held every two years. The young craftsmen of the Gaoti breed will make the shield they are most satisfied with and then place it at the challenge site. Within three days, all young challengers under the age of twenty can use one-handed weapons to test the shield.

After three days, the craftsman whose shield retains the most complete appearance will be named the winner.

Yesterday at noon, which was exactly the third day, the grandson of Du Lin’s old housekeeper arrived at the scene with a one-handed hammer and expressed his desire to participate in the test.

No one paid any attention to the fifteen-year-old boy. After checking that his weapon was not a divine weapon, they let him start smashing the shield.

And then nothing happened. The boy smashed all the shields that could still be used in the battle, a total of seventeen.

Old Ode, who was at the scene, couldn't bear to watch it and thought it must be a magic weapon, but as soon as he got the hammer, he recognized that it was Durin's work - the mold used by Durin had the Elsh family emblem, so there was also an emblem on the hammer head.

This is also a common practice among craftsmen.

The housekeeper's grandson was an honest man and it was impossible for him to steal the master's hammer to play with. He confessed to old Ode that it was brought back by his grandfather and was a reward from the young master Du Lin.

Everyone knew that Durin was a craftsman, so crafting a hammer head to reward the loyal old steward was no problem. However, the master craftsmen weighed the hammer head and discovered a problem - it was definitely not steel, nor could it be the extremely heavy meteorite ingot made by the giants.

Then the problem is coming.

How did our little Dolin come up with such a strong new metal? So, after gathering all the people they could gather nearby, they came here.

"I melted the metal plates of the ancestors." Du Lin looked at the old men surrounding him and had to announce his answer.

"Impossible! The easiest metal plate to melt among our ancestors doesn't have such hardness, and other types cannot be melted even by the big furnace of the Engineering College! Don't lie to us, kid!" Ramoy Carol, who is also a grassland elf, looked incredulous.

Du Lin could only roll up his sleeves and activate his extraordinary abilities.

The moment the dark blue flame ignited in Durin's palm, the four master craftsmen gasped at the same time. As elders, who had been in contact with various materials and flames for many years, they naturally understood how terrifying the flame in Durin's palm was.

"Really? My dear Mother Goddesses! I've never seen such a flame in a furnace before." Ramoy was the first to wake up. He looked at Durin and said, "Son, can you melt another plate of the Ancients' metal for us to see?"

"No problem, old Lamoy." Du Lin was of course happy to do so. He also knew why the old man in front of him didn't believe in him before - old Lamoy had been studying the ancient metal for sixty years, but he had never been able to melt the hard ancient metal plates into ingots.

When Lamoille removed a piece of metal plate with a strange emblem from the door of his carriage and watched it turn into a liquid ball in Durin's hands, the old man burst into tears.

"Don't cry, Lamoy. You are so old. How can you cry like this in front of little Doolin?" Old Patch patted his old friend on the back and comforted him.

"You, you know shit. I've been studying the metal plates of our ancestors for so many years, and finally I met Dulin. I'm so happy." The old man cried as he picked up the corner of old Patch's clothes and wiped it on his nose.

So the two old men soon started fighting.

Odd followed behind Durin, watching the entire process of him pouring liquid metal again. He then sighed in admiration, "Son, your warlock advancement is truly eye-opening. I always thought Patch was already good at playing with fire, but I didn't expect you to be even better at it."

Old Patch is a red dragon warlock. Although they all play with fire, Zhulong is obviously better at it than the red dragon.

Rudolph approached cautiously. He came over to the top of the module and glanced at its eyes, then looked at Du Lin: "I can feel the temperature even from such a distance. It's really hot."

Du Lin looked at Rudolf's burning goatee and nodded: "Your beard is on fire."

………………

After a flurry of activity, Rudolf, who had to shave off his beard, looked at the dusty hammer head on the table and said, "I've decided. When I get back, I'm going to improve the furnace so that it can also melt the metal of the ancestors."

"I'll help you." Ramoy said, then looked at Dulin: "Dulin, let me tell you, I have a granddaughter..."

Before he could finish his words, the guy was covered in the mouth by old Ode. The old deer with tall hooves said goodbye to Durin awkwardly but politely, then he and his friends carried Lamoy out of Durin's manor.

Du Lin bid farewell to the convoy, turned back to look at Anta, and confidently and naturally spread his arms: "My dear, look, they are all gone."

"Yeah, they're all gone." Anta smiled and waved her hand, and the extremely effective extended pyroblast behind her was dispelled with a 'pop' sound.

"What should we eat in the morning?" Du Lin continued to ask.

"I want to eat Changtang fried rice. You said you could make it." The little girl walked up to Du Lin in small steps.

Glancing at the still-dawning sky, Du Lin nodded: "Leave it to me."
