Chapter 354: Poem of Suffering
Pushing open the door of the cafe, Constantine walked into the cafe with Minfilia in front of him.
"Hello, guests." The young half-elf at the counter turned his attention away from the books on the counter. He looked up at the human and halfling before him and smiled. "What would you like to order, guests?"
"Are there any guest seats on the second floor?" asked Minfilia.
Behind her, Constantine looked around the cafe: "Where's the bearded boss?"
"Excuse me, we just bought this cafe, and the second floor is being renovated." The young half-elf said this with a hint of curiosity. "The previous owner was on the third floor of the building behind. He should be home now."
"Thank you." Minfilia took Constantine out of the cafe.
"There's a gun cocoon, and two Links boys are sitting in the corner, the kind that have killed people." Constantine said softly.
"Secretary Draco Francis, who introduced us here, wouldn't lie. That old man wouldn't give up his cafe for no reason." Minfilia was silent for a moment. "Let's go meet him."
As he walked around the café, Constantine expressed his doubts. "The people on Sword Avenue who are watching the Utari family said that everything is normal recently and the shipments are no different from before. Everyone registered can see that their Higgins should be getting married. His team of Links cubs has never left his side. So I wonder where those two Links cubs came from."
"Maybe it's a small clan that split off from the Great Forest. Not all Links cubs like to go to the Eastern Elf Territory. Some cubs also want to adventure in the human world."
"Yeah, but that half-elf is still so weird."
"Constantine, don't be too paranoid."
Having said that, she and he walked up the stairs to the third floor and knocked on the only door.
An old man opened the small window on the door and asked, "Who is it?"
Constantine lifted up Minfilia, who smiled and placed the token in front of the old man: "Mr. Kant asked us to come to you."
"I don't know any Mr. Kant."
"But Mr. Kant knows you, Mr. Massey."
After the incision was made, the old man opened the door and said, "When did that old dog, Draco Francis, get to know you Midlanders?"
"I'm Minfilia Lacus Gaoqiu, and he's my assistant Constantine Waltz. We were assigned by Secretary Draco Francis. We heard that you wanted to retire, so we're coming here to take over the management of the cafe from you." Minfilia noticed that the old man was tidying up the room.
"Damn it! If you had come earlier, I would have given it to you. But five days ago, the local secretary came to me and asked me to transfer the cafe to him and leave Copenhagen as soon as possible." At this point, the old man slapped his forehead and said, "I shouldn't have told you this. Anyway, you'd better stay away from South River Avenue as far as possible these days. If possible, you should leave."
Minfilia and Constantine looked at each other, and finally, Minfilia nodded: "Thank you for your reminder."
After saying that, the two said goodbye and left.
at the same time.
Standing by the small window on the second floor, Peck Nash looked at Minfilia and Constantine standing in front of the small building.
"They look like members of the Gaoqiu Bandits," the old man beside him said, narrowing his eyes. "They're a field team active in the Eastern Elf Territory, the Sidney Union, and the Central and Southern Union. How they ended up here, and how they found Mr. Zelda Mercedes, is unclear."
"Zelda previously told the representatives that she wanted to retire. It's possible they're here to take over the café." "That makes sense," Peck said, heading for the stairs. "I'll go meet them."
Constantine heard the sound of a door opening beside him—very deliberately, as if to remind him that someone had opened the door.
So he turned around and looked at the young man who opened the door with a hint of vigilance and scrutiny.
He was wearing a gray woolen trench coat and looked like a Southerner, with the roundest double chin in the world.
"Mr. Constantine, Mrs. Minfilia." The young man smiled and took off his hat. Under the vigilant gaze of the two, he bowed his head and saluted: "My humble self, Peck Nash."
"You are Peck." The two asked in unison.
"Yes, if you are looking for Peck from the Nash family, then I am the only one like him in the whole of Copenhagen, so please come into the cafe and sit for a while." After saying that, he stepped aside and made an invitation.
Minfilia nodded, she walked ahead, and Constantine followed behind her.
Walking into the cafe, where the young half-elf was mixing coffee, Peck sat down at the counter and asked, "What do you want to see old Zelda about?"
"Old Zelda said before that he wanted to retire. We were assigned by Secretary Draco Francis to come and take over the management of the cafe from him." Minfilia said this while showing their proof - Draco's emblem.
"I'm so sorry, but we have other tasks that require this cafe, and the back of this place is abandoned." Peck said this and took the coffee handed to him by the half-elf. "I'm sorry to have made you come here for nothing."
"It's okay. We haven't had much to do lately. After all, the organization's funds are much more abundant now, so we don't need to run around much anymore." Having said this, Minfilia took the coffee and looked at Peck. "Thank you. Since you have nothing else to do, we will prepare to go to Farol. The train there needs us to deal with the daring railway robbers."
"What about you guys?" Constantine asked curiously after taking the coffee.
"Once this matter is done, we will withdraw. Next time I come, I should be in the Northernist army. Recovering the North is our dream, isn't it?" Having said this, Peck looked at the two with a smile and said, "What else are you going to do besides fighting those bandits?"
"When I retire, I'm going to buy a piece of land on the beach and open a summer barbecue restaurant. It doesn't matter how much I make. What matters is that I live happily." Having said this, Constantine looked at Minfilia: "What about you?"
"I'll go back to the clan. When I die, my descendants will bury me in the cemetery. I'll write a message on the tombstone: I dedicated my life to the cause of human liberation." At this point, Minfilia laughed. "Actually, I just want to be buried with him."
"If you accidentally die outside, I will take you back." Constantine said with a smile.
"Our predecessors really had the romantic sentiment unique to revolution," Peck said with a smile.
He and she just smiled at this.
Where does the romanticism come from? It's just that we are used to life and death.
At this moment, the young half-elf put a record on the player.
The next second, music from the Port of Mist began to play.
At 7:17 in the morning, Copenhagen was shrouded in thick fog.
