Durin's Diary

Chapter 472: Acting

Chapter 472: Acting
"Old man, what is that thing in your hand? It's so mysterious."

On the second floor of the art center, the sharp-eyed old dwarf noticed an old elf holding a box and sneaking towards the screening room.

The old elf reached out and shushed, "Everyone is taking a nap."

"Durin's?" The old dwarf also lowered his voice.

The old elf nodded.

So the two old men, tacitly understanding each other, tiptoed into the projection room.

The old dwarf closed the door, the old elf closed the curtains, and then the two old men tinkered with the projection device.

After putting the crystal away, the old elf and the old dwarf sat down on the chairs.

The screen went black and white, and then three snow leopard cubs appeared, howling together.

It was a recognized fact in the supernatural world that Durin had quite a lot of magical pets, especially these three, which were the newest magical pets he had acquired in the past two years. They usually stayed in the Everburning Nest as pets in the store.

Although it has grown up, who doesn’t like a big cat with black spots on a white background?

After they pass, the movie begins.

The camera starts with Du Lin...or rather, the male protagonist with Du Lin's face.

This was a grassland elf with a slender figure and beautiful black curly hair. The table he walked past was covered with various guns, and the entertainment device called TV was playing news.

"Dulin always likes to use some novel things in his movies that are far ahead of the times." The old dwarf sighed.

At this time, the male protagonist opened the sliding window, opened the refrigerator, and took out a bottle of milk.

He opened it and drank half the bottle in one gulp.

Then he poured the remaining milk in the bottle onto the bloody human head next to the refrigerator. The milk flowed with gravity, flowing over the dead man's brow and the dagger stuck in his eye socket.

The camera moves back, revealing several figures lying on the ground, seemingly drowned in a pool of blood beneath them.

The male protagonist took out a vinyl record from the vinyl rack beside him and threw it towards the record player in the distance.

Then he took out a large shoulder bag and swept the money on the table into the bag.

The vinyl record that happened to fall on the record player also started working as a stone thrown by the male protagonist.

Then, music that no one had ever heard began to play.

The camera then pulls back and flies into the distance through the open sliding window.

During this process, a line of words appeared on the left side of the screen - Director: Doolin Elsh.

The long shot shows the audience a big city with skyscrapers everywhere, but it is not as sci-fi as Blade Runner.

"Obviously, it's much more technologically advanced than our time, but not as futuristic as Blade Runner ," the old elf analyzed.

The camera enters another house through another window.

The first thing that appears in the camera is a woman bathing in a bathtub, with an unknown piece of music playing on a record player next to her.

The camera turns, comes out of the air vent on the door, crosses the corridor, and in the kitchen opposite the door, the girl among the three children playing chess looks up because someone is calling her.

She came to the living room and saw her adoptive father—the human sitting on the sofa was looking at his pocket watch. In his free left hand, he held a few banknotes and a note: "Child, go to the market and buy what's on the note."

The girl took the money from her own father: "Okay, Dad."

She went downstairs, but before she took a few steps, she was pushed to the ground by hands from behind, and even the money in her hand was snatched away.

"Matilda, you are a dwarf among giants. Look at you. Where did you steal this money from?" The leading girl said, and pushed Matilda, who had climbed up, against the wall.

The girl tried to snatch the money back but was punched twice more. Just as the bullies were about to attack again, a car with the word "For Rent" on the roof stopped.

The male protagonist got out of the car and looked at the one in front of him: "Girls, don't block the road."

After saying that, he showed the gun at his waist.

The girls who were about to curse immediately fled in all directions.

Matilda sat up, wiped the blood from her nose, and finally looked up at the man standing in front of her - she knew him because he was her neighbor.

"Sir, is life born to be miserable, or is it only when you are a child that you suffer such insults?" "It has always been like this." After saying that, the male protagonist took out two old bills from his wallet and handed them to her: "Go buy what you need."

"Thank you, sir."

"I just don't want to see a child being hurt like this." At this point, he patted her shoulder and said, "Go ahead. If your adoptive father gets drunk again next time, you can come to my house for refuge."

"Thank you." Matilda stood up.

She walked towards the market.

The male protagonist watched her leave and then went upstairs.

As he turned the corner, he saw a police car parked in front of the rental house.

He paused until several men in plain clothes got out of the car, then he whistled and walked towards his apartment.

At the same time, the music 'Ecstasy' begins to play.

"Is there any deep meaning behind this plot?" The old dwarf was a little puzzled.

"If they were here to arrest him, they would definitely be fully armed, but since several policemen are in plain clothes, they definitely aren't here for him," the old elf analyzed.

The male protagonist stuffed the bag under the bed, then took down two guns from the wall beside him, one was the famous Durin Type 11, and the other was a small musket that they could not understand.

He came to the door and lay over the peephole.

The police team came up and pulled out guns from under their clothes.

They are all bullpup shotguns and pistols with sawed-off barrels.

The male protagonist began to load the Durin Type 11.

On the other side, the group of people walking in darkness and light came to the door of Dulin’s neighbor’s house. Someone pried open the door with tools, and a man in beige clothes with a crazy expression walked in first.

This time, the camera changes to an over-the-shoulder perspective following the man. Matilda's brother and mother fall in a pool of blood one after another, while the man stands in front of the owner of the house: "Where are my goods?"

When he didn't get an answer, the man drew his gun and shot.

Meanwhile, Matilda walked up the stairs and as she turned the corner she realized what had happened in her own house.

She was holding food and various supplies that were half her height.

In the corridor, the male accomplice stared at Matilda with a vicious expression.

At this time, the music reached its climax. She walked past her door with an expressionless face. In the corner of her vision, she saw her brother who died with his eyes open. The child who had just said goodbye to her was now lying in the corridor, and his blood was flowing on the carpet in the corridor.

The camera remains fixed on the girl as she raises her hand and knocks on the hero's door.

In the background of the camera, the bald man holding a gun's eyes gradually turned cold.

The anxiety on Matilda's face became more and more obvious.

The door opened just as another gunman and a man appeared at the door.

The male protagonist squinted his eyes, wearing a nightgown, glanced at the situation in the corridor, and then slapped the girl hard on the butt: "My silly girl, you are back late again."

“I’m sorry, Uncle Leon, I bought a lot today.” She tried to smile and answered, but silent tears were already flowing down her face.

The man who had just killed Matilda's family smiled and raised his eyebrows.

The old prairie elf with thick melanin accumulation on his ears who was closing the door also smiled.

He closed the door.

I used the peephole to watch the group of people go downstairs.

Then he went to the window again and watched them get into the car through the blinds.

He looked at the girl who turned on the TV and watched cartoons, listened to her sobbing, and finally, he opened the refrigerator and took out two bottles of milk.

Sometimes, silence is better than words.
