Durin's Diary

Chapter 512: Just Bad

Chapter 512: Just Bad

The leader of these young men was a half-elf. After hearing the complaints and dissatisfaction of the young people under his command, he slapped the young girl who was exaggerating and said, "Haven't you read in books how cruel goblins are?"

"I've read it, but isn't that a record in the book? Besides, what Lord Durin did was really cruel. The cave is full of old and young..." Having said that, the boy who was helping the girl speak didn't dare to say a word under the death gaze of the team leader.

On the other side, the five strong and sturdy village women finished fighting. Following the command of the village chief, they came to Du Lin and knelt down.

Five village women, five tragic lives. Some of them had their fathers murdered, some had brothers missing, some had sisters with disabilities, and some had no children.

All this is just because the city people look pitiful and can't kill the goblins.

After hearing this, the young men and women who had been dancing before stopped making noise.

"In Farol, Austria, and Switzerland, city dwellers haven't seen a goblin in generations. Their cruelty and cunning seem to you like nothing more than stories from books. But in the vast rural areas, the hatred between these lunatics and the farmers continues to this day. Their hatred for goblins goes even further than what you read in books. Just think about it: if your parents, your sisters, your children died at the hands of goblins, what would you do?"

After saying this, Du Lin looked at the young people in front of him and said, "I believe you will come up with methods even more cruel than mine."

"Look at what Mr. Durin said. You young people have lost your correct perspective on history! Goblins are such abhorrent creatures! They're not even a signatory to the Treaty of Civilization. They even retain a terrifying, man-eating green-skinned subspecies. Exterminating them is the best punishment we can give them!" Farol's leader apologized to Durin once again. "Lord Durin, please forgive these young people. In their humble lives, they've never witnessed the harm caused by goblins."

"I accept your apology. Let's do this. After all the goblins are dead, let these young people go to the cave to see the world." After Du Lin said this, he looked at the leader with a smile.

The team leader was still reluctant, but the young people refused to give up. They said they would go in and see it as soon as possible.

………………

When everything settled, these young men from the city of Farol were armed. Wearing armor, they walked into the cave, which was still warm, under the cover of dwarf gunners and dwarf priests.

Du Lin smiled at the leader, who looked reluctant. "You are very kind, but kindness has its time and place. Young people don't believe what is written in books. Their kindness is misdirected. And you, too, have misdirected it. We should teach them a lesson with blood and tears. Don't try to excuse barbarism. We are civilized, which means we are kind and understand fraternity, but that doesn't mean we have to pity those barbaric greenskins and alien species."

"I know, Master Durin, but in there..."

"Even if you haven't seen the mountains of corpses and seas of blood in Copenhagen that summer, it's good to see the piles of corpses in the goblin cave." After Du Lin said this, he signaled the team leader not to plead for the young man anymore.

About half an hour later, young people wearing protective masks walked out with unsteady steps.

Following them out was the leader of the dwarven gunners. He casually told Durin that the young men retching near the cave had already vomited a lot of shit inside. "They are just some ignorant young men. You are absolutely right, sir. But looking at the piles of bones in the collection area, they've stabbed all the goblins who weren't quite dead yet with their bayonets."

Du Lin smiled and nodded. After letting the man leave, he looked at the team leader and said, "You see, young people are ignorant and sometimes mistakenly show kindness to the wrong people. Now that they have discovered the truth, they will understand that there is no hatred or love without reason in this world."

Then he gestured to the young people who wanted to come over but didn't dare. Leading the way were the girl and boy who had been beaten. With clear eyes, they came before Du Lin and knelt on one knee. "Please forgive our stupidity, sir."

"You saw the bones in the cave and the bite marks on them, right?" Du Lin no longer had a smile on his face, but asked in a very calm tone.

"Yes, sir, we have seen and deeply understood the truth you stated. We are truly foolish to show mercy to such a savage creature."

"Civilization teaches us to be kind, which is a good thing. Just don't use it the wrong way next time." Then, Du Lin turned to look at the old village chief and his strong wives. "Go back. You taught them a lesson today. I thank you. This year, your village's taxes will be reduced by 30%. Next spring, I'll give you an extra 100 sets of tools and two plowing tractors."

"Thank you for your kindness, Lord Protector of the Country." The wrinkles on the village chief's face were about to open up with laughter, and the five old women were also happy. They walked into the portal that Du Lin opened for them and left.

Then Du Lin looked at these young people and said, "Some hatreds are not in the past. How many people have the goblins killed? Can anyone among you count them?"

The young people all shook their heads.

"Have any of these goblins ever come forward to apologize to us? Have their kings or emperors ever apologized to us or knelt down to the victims?" Du Lin continued to ask.

The young man continued to shake his head.

"Then never forgive the goblins. You must tell your descendants that no one has the right to say on our behalf as civilized people that the goblins deserve forgiveness. Since they won't apologize, won't kneel, and certainly won't accept the concept of civilization like the two goblin tribes in the Eastern Territory, then kill them all! Crush their bones! Burn their caves! Build forts out of their heads!"

After saying that, Durin stood up and waved his hand. "Remember the truth you saw in the cave, remember what you said in front of me, remember, you have no right to say on behalf of those bones that we forgive the goblins."

The young man lowered his head in shame.

"Sir, you are truly very kind." The leader followed and said, "I believe these young people will never forget everything they said today."

"They'd better remember, otherwise history will remember their foolishness." At this point, Durin looked at the leader and said, "Please keep an eye on them for me. If they can forgive the goblins today, they may forgive the northern nobles who are also human in the future."

"How is this possible!" The team leader widened his eyes.

"Live longer and you will see." After saying this, Du Lin turned his head to look at the staff members who were dragging the corpses of the goblins out of the cave. Some of them came out carrying skeletons.

If you live long enough, all kinds of monsters and demons will reveal themselves, and all kinds of demons and monsters will be exposed. Remember what I said today.
