Durin's Diary

Chapter 653 The End

Chapter 653 The End
Uryula looked at the young man on the shooting range. This young man named Joseph has been practicing very hard in recent times.

"When do you think he will be able to avenge himself?" The old woman from the Idar family asked Uryula out of curiosity, looking at the young man.

The latter shook his head. "I don't know. I've never seen a child as hard-working as he is in learning to kill. His efforts pale in comparison to those of the young men transformed from the Crimson Corps. If it were just to kill that freckled kid, one-on-one with him, I believe Joseph would have a hundred ways to send him to the grave."

In response to Urjula's affirmation, Mrs. Idar looked at the young man who had emptied his semi-automatic rifle and was checking the target with the gun. "He should have gone to Lord Durin's military academy like the other orphans. I believe that with this child's talent, he will be no worse than that child of Willy's."

"But fundamentally, Willy is a born soldier." Urjula said this with some relief. "When Lord Durin chose him, I was worried that he wouldn't be able to do anything on the battlefield. I didn't expect this little kid to be so trustworthy."

"Master Dulin has always been very accurate in judging people. He has never made a mistake. The only thing he can be criticized for is probably being too lenient. If I were in his position, every head of the Clegane family would have a different price tag on it."

Mrs. Idar said this and looked at the cigarette case in her hand. The golden cigarette case was so eye-catching.

She sighed.

Uryula didn't have much to lament. "It's okay. Ten years from now, Master Dulin will only be thirty years old, and so many young people will only be in their twenties and thirties. They have plenty of time to end the feud between Jun Gu and Sidney. Even if the Cleghan family tries to remedy it now, it will be useless. After all, so many Jun Gu came here, including the elderly, middle-aged people, and children. Their families have all been broken up because of the Cleghan family's stupidity."

At this point, Uryula looked at Idar and said, "What about you? Why are you unhappy?"

"I'm not a vampire like you. I'm just a mortal who happened to become a legend. I'm already very old, so old that I don't know if I'll ever see Master Durin take control of this land." Mrs. Idar finished her words and smiled a little sadly. "But when I think about Joseph, the boy who lost two of his friends before him and lived a life of hatred, I feel like I should be content with the life I've lived."

At this point in the conversation, both old men fell silent.

At that moment, a young vampire ran in with a newspaper. He came to Ulyula and said, "News about Master Durin! Grandpa! It's just been confirmed! Master Durin killed a greenskin lord in the Orekhov Fortress!"

"Lord of the green-skinned orcs, this is no small stuff." After taking the newspaper, Uryula saw a large photo. In the photo, their young master Durin was carrying a giant mace - according to him, this was Chang Tang's exotic weapon.

At his feet lay a green-skinned orc who was much larger than him. He lay there motionless with part of his head missing.

"Our young master is truly remarkable." Looking at the photo in the newspaper, Mrs. Idar sighed with emotion. "I still remember the first time I saw him. I thought the Wasteland Society must be crazy to have chosen such a child. Later, I realized that this was actually the best choice."

"I was the one who came looking for you." Uryula looked at her young master in the newspaper. "By the way, where is Madam Astrid now?"

"There's a red-skinned girl from Sidney's place called Oona. They should be on the second floor now. Why are you asking?" Mrs. Idar was a little puzzled, then she smiled again. "Are you suspicious of her? I think you can rest assured. After all, her last name is Alessandro."

Urjula has his own opinion on this: "I am worried that this young lady is too naive and has been deceived."

"You can fool her for a while, but you can't fool her forever. I don't believe she's that stupid. This is an old woman's intuition." After saying this, Mrs. Idar smiled and sat down. "I believe this child."

………………

Two cups of coffee with milk sat untouched on the table. Reed looked at Una. After not seeing her for a few years, she had changed a lot, becoming more mature and unfamiliar. The only thing that hadn't changed was her skin.

The two girls were silent. The cub beside Oona stared at the cake on the table with his big eyes, and he looked at his mother.

But the silence at the table left him at a loss.

Until Lid spoke: "Wald, have some snacks."

The young child cheered, and with the permission of his elders, he happily picked up the snacks on the plate and started eating.

Reed looked to the side, and immediately the little rabbit maids from the Everburning Nest came over. They lured the children away from the table with snacks and drinks.

Only then did Reed speak.

"I can't help you, Oona."

"Why? My eldest brother is dead, and there is a ceasefire. Why can't we have peace?" The red-skinned girl lowered her head, not as carefree as before. Her question sounded more like a whisper.

"Uncle and aunt are going too far," Reid replied, looking at Una, who lowered her head. "Killing the military orphan representative in the street, do you know what this means? It means that a portion of the military orphans, the Cleggen family, and all those associated with them must be annihilated. If the military orphans don't want to die, they'll have to ask the Cleggen family and so many other nobles to die."

She finished speaking and looked in silence at the coffee cup in front of her, on which was a pattern drawn by her sister Elaine, who was trying to make a cup.

"Aren't we all nobles?" Una was full of doubts. She raised her head and looked at Reed's big eyes full of confusion.

"Aren't we supposed to be of the same kind, Reid? You're a noble, I'm a noble, and Lord Durin is also a noble. Why?" Una finally screamed.

Reid sighed deeply.

"I am Astrid Doolin-Airsh. My husband swore to bring justice to this land. He wanted to bring justice to the orphans of the military. And you, you devour their flesh, tear apart their ideals, and trample on their patriotic enthusiasm. In your eyes, are they still human beings?"

She stood up and looked at her peers sitting there.

Once upon a time, they were best friends.

Now, she and she have become the most familiar strangers.
