Durin's Diary

Chapter 73 Etta's Betty

Chapter 73 Etta's Betty

Karina Dossem.

First-year student at the Metropolitan Mage Academy.

In the morning, 5:45.

The girl with rare long black hair looked at the thick cowhide envelope in her hand, feeling a little overwhelmed.

The cowhide envelope was sealed with the Elsh family's clay seal. After opening it, Durin's handwriting was still on the first page of the thick letter paper.

To Karina, I'm Dulin, bringing you Etta's greetings and apologies. I hope you can forgive him once, even just once.

Du Lin, a peer of his own who he had only met once, I heard that he had gone to Copenhagen, and now his ally was in the same dormitory with him.

But how did he get to know his Etta? One was the heir to the Duke, and the other... was the child of a bottom fish.

There was no chance for him to recognize him, nor was there any space for him to get to know him.

But when Karina opened the clay seal and saw Etta's handwriting, she still pouted - it was his handwriting, and page after page of letter paper was filled with his apology, his reluctance and his longing.

On the last page, Karina couldn't hold back her tears of longing after all - Betty, I know I'm dirty, but please look at me again, see my sincere heart, even if it's just like before, pity me again...

My Etta, I know who you are. I don’t blame you. It’s my jealousy that hurt you.

Karina lowered her head, tears dripping onto the back of her hand. She was silent for a long time until a small hand snatched the envelope from her hand.

She looked up and saw Anta. She studied the envelope for a moment. "It's in Durin's handwriting, absolutely genuine. He said it's Eta's greetings and apologies... Karina, is Eta your ally? Is he in Copenhagen too?"

"It's my boyfriend, he's in Copenhagen." Karina wiped her eyes.

"That's what humans say. Allies are allies." Having said that, Anta looked at Kalina. His lightning-like gaze made her feel a little uneasy, but out of protection for Eta, she looked at Anta firmly.

His identity cannot be known to outsiders.

Du Lin knew his identity, which had nothing to do with her, but this secret should not be revealed by her. She would keep this secret for him until her death.

Anta suddenly laughed. "You have a secret. I've heard it. Everyone says you have allies. Your talent is no less than mine, yet no one has ever pursued you. Your Eta... must be doing something greater than my Durin. Many elders must know about this and are willing to protect you and him. That's why there aren't so many suitors chasing you like they did me."

At this point, the silver-haired girl sighed and said, "Are you worried that the city called Copenhagen will swallow up your Etta?"

This question touched Karina's heart, and she nodded: "Ever since he left me, I often worry about hearing bad news about him."

Are you afraid?

Of course I am afraid. Too many of our kind have been swallowed up by the human world, and too many of our kind will regret it for the rest of their lives.

Karina woke up from dreams more than once, just because she lost him in the dreams.

"It's the same for me. My cousin Fabien died in Copenhagen. To me, Copenhagen is a city that swallowed up my loved ones. I fear that one day, it will swallow up my beloved again." Anta sighed at this: "Everyone says that geniuses live together, but who could have known that we were just two pitiful people suffering from the same disease?"

Kalina also sighed: "I can't tell you Etta's identity, but he and his family serve the Circle."

"As expected, without those old men, how could you have a peaceful day? Although I have some, I am still not as good as you. Even now, there are still some daring guys who think I really don't dare to use too much force. If Du Lin hadn't told me not to use too much force, someone would have flown out of the tower yesterday." Having said this, Anta looked out the window: "It should still be dark in Copenhagen at this time. We should get up. Today's morning elective class is Potions, and I want to learn another skill."

"Potions is not necessary for us, why do you want to learn it?" Karina was a little curious, but she and Anta got up and started changing clothes.

"Pure potions are increasingly expensive in the human world. I want to be a worthy ally of Durin, not a caged canary. That kind of life is not what I want." The girl in the shirt said this and looked at Karina. "You don't want to be a burden to your Etta, do you?"

Karina nodded. "That's right. No one wants to be a burden. Burdens only make people bored."

Du Lin’s allies are indeed the best allies he talks about.

This discovery made Karina very sad because she realized that she was not doing well enough.

She understood very well how much Higgins of Utari wanted to stay by her side, but his family had an unshirkable responsibility. He had to return to his father and prepare to take over his father's position as the head of the huge business group one day.

He is in the human world, and there are many things he cannot control, and many times he and I have different dreams... I am still too jealous, aren't I?

Karina thought of Higgins's mother, who lived in the Eastern Territory year-round, only occasionally traveling with her friends. Only then would she have the chance to meet her lover in a foreign land by chance. Perhaps such a coincidence would one day happen to her and Higgins.

We packed our sheets together, walked out of the dormitory together, and walked down the stairs together.

Looking at Anta in front of her, Karina envied her.

She didn't envy her status, nor was she jealous of the difference between Dulin and Higgins. Karina just envied her for having a lover she could express her feelings to.

And she couldn't say anything, just like that lady. Everyone knew that she had a lover far away in another country, but only the person involved knew who that person was.

If I have a child with Higgins in the future, will he also go to Copenhagen early, learn bad habits early, and learn to accept separation early, just like his father and grandfather?

The college cafeteria was already brightly lit. Anta walked in front and ordered food for herself and Karina with ease.

Is this really worth it?

This question suddenly arose in Karina's mind.

Then she saw Lady Marianne.

She sat in a corner, drinking tea and reading the Copenhagen Worker Daily.

The upperclassman in front of her greeted her, "Mrs. Tolanduran."

She smiled and nodded.

Anta bowed to her: "Good morning, Madam Marianne."

"Good morning, child." She smiled.

It was Karina's turn, and the girl stood in front of her: "Hello."

"Good morning, kid, are you having a nightmare again?"

Standing between the tables, Karina nodded a little awkwardly.

"Don't be afraid, your friend will be alive and well." Mrs. Marianne said with a smile.

"I know." Karina responded to the lady's comfort.

Mrs. Marian had another last name, she should have been called Marian Utari.

But after so many years, she still follows her mother's surname.

In the eyes of many people, she has no lover and is a conservative single woman. Few people know that she has been married and has her own husband, but she cannot even say his name and the name of her child.

Is this really worth it?

It must be worth it, whether it is the gentleman from the Utari family or Lady Marianne, she and he are both serving the Eastern Territory, even if it makes each other's lives dull and low-key.

However, Karina never heard the lady complain.

Therefore, even if it is her turn one day, Karina feels that she will not complain.

So she said goodbye to the lady.

Sat next to Anta.

"Karina, you're late." Lianfaya greeted casually.

"It's better than not coming." Karina smiled and sat next to Anta.

Ordinary days are also a manifestation of miracles.

May the mercy of the original creator illuminate this cold world.
