Chapter 285: Internal Clues of the Blood Eagle Gang
Henry's Casino is one of the most luxurious in Las Vegas, a dream destination for many gamblers. Inside, the lights flicker, the music blares, the luxurious decor, and the relentless flow of chips contrast starkly with the casino's dark underbelly. As soon as Lin En entered the casino, he was immediately greeted by the overwhelming odor of gambling and the tense atmosphere. Dressed casually and barely conspicuous, he slowly walked to the bar and found a corner seat.
After waiting for about ten minutes, Henry slowly walked over. He was tall, dressed in a well-fitting suit, with sharp eyes and a faint smile on his lips. His appearance immediately attracted the attention of everyone around him, but he didn't care and walked straight towards Lin En.
"I heard you have some problems and need my help?" Henry's voice was low and magnetic, with a calm and threatening tone. "If you come to me, it should be of some value, right?"
Lin En stood up and stretched out his hand to shake Henry's hand. "Mr. Henry, I do have something I want to ask you about the recent cases in Las Vegas."
Henry's lips curled up slightly, revealing a barely perceptible smile. "Case? Are you talking about those unlucky gamblers?" He said lightly, "These are not things you should be concerned about. You'd better not interfere in the affairs of the casino."
Lin En looked at Henry with a sullen face. "I know about your dealings with these people. Although you don't want to admit it publicly, I also know that the casino won't easily make such things public. However, these recent deaths of gamblers don't seem to have any obvious connection, unless you know their backgrounds."
Henry frowned slightly, clearly disliking Lin's direct words. "I don't care who lives or dies, as long as their money goes into my pocket." His eyes grew sharper. "The death of these gamblers actually saved me a lot of trouble. If you think these corpses have anything to do with me, you're wrong, Lin."
Lin En was silent for a moment, then continued, "Your dealings with these gamblers are obviously more than just gambling. They have some unknown backgrounds, and I believe you are aware of them."
Henry's eyes became sharper. After a moment's silence, he said, "What kind of blood feud do you think I would have with these gamblers? I wish the people in the casino would gamble more and make more money. How could I possibly kill them?"
Lin En looked at Henry and smiled slightly ironically: "I know what the rules of the game are in the casino. You make a lot of money and there are many gamblers, but you also understand that the power struggle in the casino is far more than that. The murderer is not just after money, he may be targeting those gamblers with problems behind them."
Henry's eyes flashed, and he was obviously no longer so indifferent. He asked in a deep voice: "What do you want, Lin En?"
Lin En stood up straight, his eyes firm. "Can you provide me with the background information of these gamblers? I know these deceased people are not simple people, and there must be more complicated interests involved. If you want to keep the casino business running smoothly, perhaps providing this information can help you reach some kind of consensus with the police."
Henry pondered for a moment, clearly considering whether to reveal this information. After a moment, he chuckled, a hint of sarcasm flashing in his eyes. "Do you really think I'll help you investigate these things? You're mistaken, Lin En. I wouldn't do such meaningless things. The information you obtain may not be as valuable as you think."
He suddenly stood up and turned to leave, leaving Lin En alone. Lin En knew that this conversation was far from over, and he did not intend to give up easily. Instead, he quietly watched Henry leave.
Henry didn't leave the casino immediately, but instead headed towards a small office. Lin En glanced down at his watch, realizing that Henry might be deliberately being mysterious, trying to test his limits. Lin En didn't immediately follow him, but instead began to observe everything around him. He realized that, despite Henry's outward appearance of indifference, he was clearly moved by Lin En's words.
After a while, Lin En stood up and walked towards Henry. This time, he was determined not to make meaningless temptations, but to put pressure on Henry more directly.
Lin En walked towards Henry's office, feeling no urge to resort to forceful tactics. He knew that if he wanted Henry to reveal more information, he couldn't force him too much, but instead needed to demonstrate trust and patience. Henry, despite his outward indifference, was not one to easily abandon his own interests. Lin En also knew that only through interaction with Henry could he uncover more clues.
When he reached the office door, Lynn knocked gently, and Henry's voice came from inside: "Come in." He obviously didn't show much surprise, as if he knew Lynn would come again.
Lynn pushed open the door and stepped into the room. The office was as gorgeous as ever, yet it seemed cold and lacking warmth. Henry sat in a large chair, his hands folded on the table, his expression still serious, as if he had anticipated Lynn's arrival.
"I know why you came to me, Lynn." Henry's eyes were sharp. "But you also know that I control the rules of the casino. I'm afraid it won't be easy to get the background of those gamblers you want."
Lynn stood at the table, his expression calm. "I understand your concerns, Henry. I'm not here to threaten you or interfere with your business. All I'm asking for is some information. Clearly, there's a conspiracy behind the recent murders in Las Vegas that's more complicated than just gambling. You know, if I could get more clues from you, perhaps we could avoid a bigger conflict together."
Henry didn't respond immediately, but instead stared at Lynn quietly, an elusive glint in his eyes. A few seconds later, he spoke, "You're right, Lynn. What you want to know isn't just a grudge between ordinary gamblers. These people have some complicated dealings behind them, but I don't intend to share them with you." He paused, as if contemplating something. "I'm telling you, casinos aren't charities. Gamblers are merely tools for us to profit. Whether they live or die is none of our business."
Lin En nodded gently, already guessing Henry's position. "I understand what you mean. You don't care about the lives of these gamblers; after all, you only care about the revenue they bring to the casino. But I know that the Blood Eagle Gang and you have some unknown dealings behind the scenes. If you're unwilling to give me a direct answer, then perhaps I can help you find a more appropriate way to reduce your contact with these forces behind the scenes." Henry's eyes narrowed slightly. He didn't immediately refute, but lowered his head, as if considering the meaning of Lin En's words. Then, he raised his head, his gaze even sharper. "You're not simple, Lin En. You can see through this, so why not tell me how much you know?"
"I'm aware of your partnership with the Blood Eagle Gang," Lin En said calmly. "They've brought you some ulterior motives. You maintain your influence through money laundering and illegal gambling. There are even rumors that you have unusual connections with certain high-ranking members of this gang. Would you like to tell me exactly what role the Blood Eagle Gang played in this series of events?"
Henry didn't respond, and the atmosphere froze instantly. Lynn knew that Henry was considering whether to continue dealing with him. After a moment's silence, Henry suddenly put down his pen and stood up. "You're right, I do have some connections with the Blood Eagle Gang. After all, in a place like Las Vegas, it's impossible to gain a foothold without some background." He paused, as if making a decision, and then said, "But this doesn't mean I will cooperate with you, Lynn. You must know that just because you can leave here, it doesn't mean you can take the truth away with you."
Lynn's gaze remained unwavering, staring at Henry firmly. "I'm not planning on taking your business, Henry. I'm just making sure you all understand that you don't have many options left. Those dead gamblers might be victims of some illegal activity by the Blood Eagles. Do you understand? They're willing to put their own lives at risk. Don't you want to take control before the next few cases happen?"
Henry's expression darkened. He hadn't expected Lin to hit the nail on the head so bluntly. "That's easy for you to say, Lin," Henry's voice deepened. "These people's deaths have nothing to do with us. What do you want to know, Lin? Tell me, what reason do you have for me to risk a head-on confrontation with the Blood Eagle Gang over a few bodies?"
Lin En paused, fully aware of Henry's concerns. "I don't want to confront the Blood Eagles head-on, but if you allow this kind of thing to continue, Las Vegas gamblers and even your own casino will face unpredictable consequences. You're right, casinos are making money the right way, and gangs, money laundering, and gambling can all survive. But if you get dragged into more irrelevant killings and violence, the ultimate price will be even heavier."
Henry frowned and snorted coldly: "Do you really think I will listen to your warning? Las Vegas is just a big casino. The best you can do is to clean up the bodies of these gamblers and keep the police busy investigating. You don't have enough power to influence the game here."
"You're wrong, Henry." Lynn's tone suddenly became more resolute. "You may be able to dominate here, but Las Vegas is not a place you can control alone. If you want to continue to enjoy these benefits, you'd better consider the situation that follows. The rampant Blood Eagle Gang will lead to greater conflicts, and in the end, you will lose more important things than you can imagine."
Henry's eyes became even colder. "Do you think you can threaten me? You are just an outsider agent and will leave here sooner or later. But I, Henry Coleman, have taken root in this city for a long time. No one can shake me."
Lynn stood firm, "You can do whatever you want, but I won't give up. Behind all the bloodshed on the gambling tables in Las Vegas lie even more unknown secrets. I will uncover them one by one until none of you have anywhere to hide."
A cold light flashed in Henry's eyes. After a moment of silence, he slowly said, "You are indeed a man of courage, Lin En. Since you are so insistent, I will give you some help. If you want to know more, go find the people from the Blood Eagle Gang and see if they are willing to cooperate." After that, Henry turned around and prepared to leave, leaving Lin En standing there alone.
Lin understood that Henry's answer, though vague, was meaningful enough. He knew that Henry wasn't unwilling to disclose the information, but rather that he was making his position clear through his words. Henry didn't intend to confront the police head-on, but he also understood that Lin wasn't easily intimidated.
Lynn left Henry's office and returned to the hotel to meet up with Mark. Mark saw that Lynn's expression had changed and immediately asked, "How's Henry's reaction?"
"Henry's attitude is very clear. He's unwilling to cooperate directly with us." Lin En's voice was low. "But he gave us a clue and asked us to find members of the Blood Eagle Gang. Perhaps we can get more information from them."
Mark frowned. "This matter is becoming increasingly complicated, Lin En. The power of the Blood Eagle Gang is unfathomable. It would be difficult for us to handle it with just the two of us, wouldn't it?"
Lin En looked at the notebook in his hand, his eyes sharp. "It will definitely be difficult. But if we can't negotiate with them face to face, at least we can find clues from Henry's hints. We have to get closer step by step until we catch the mastermind."
"What are you going to do?" Mark asked.
"We need to increase our efforts next, tracking the Blood Eagle Gang's activities, finding their contacts, and seeing if we can gain a breakthrough from them," Lin En said firmly. "As for Henry, it's not that he doesn't want to cooperate, but he's afraid to take the risk of going public. I believe he has many secrets that have yet to be revealed."
"I understand," Mark nodded. "Let's take action and try not to alert the Blood Eagle Gang. Only by finding clues can we completely break the situation."
The next day, Lin En entered the casino again. This time, he didn't keep a low profile like before, but instead emerged as a prominent gambler. He wore a fine suit, his hair meticulously styled, and a confident smile. His demeanor was refined yet assertive, his intention being to convey that he was a regular and well-heeled. The casino was the heart of Las Vegas, offering opportunities for anyone to connect with others, especially those in the underworld. Lin En's goal was to leverage this identity to establish connections with the Blood Eagle Gang's peripheral members.
He knew that casinos were a huge source of profit for gangs. These gangs earned enormous fortunes there, through underground gambling, money laundering, illegal transactions... all the chains of profit were intertwined in these places. The Blood Eagle Gang, one of the most powerful factions, often had peripheral members active around casinos, engaging in transactions and manipulation inside and outside the casinos. Lin En's goal was clear: he would leverage his status to forge closer ties with these peripheral members, thereby gaining insider information about the Blood Eagle Gang. (End of Chapter)
