Chapter 287 The situation is out of control
Blake glanced at the cash on the table, a flicker of hesitation in his eyes. Although he wasn't directly involved in these murders, this information was extremely valuable, especially for his own benefit. Finally, Blake sighed and whispered, "Alright, I'll give you a few more clues. Behind those deaths you mentioned is another person, a former key member of the Blood Eagle Gang. His name is Alfred, and he possesses a wealth of information on these illegal transactions. If you find him, you might be able to uncover the truth."
After hearing this, Lin En felt a surge of excitement in his heart, but he remained calm: "Alfred? Where is he now?"
Blake looked around and whispered, "Alfred has been missing for a while. Some say he was captured by members of other gangs, while others say he's hiding and preparing to escape. But he did contact some members of the Blood Eagle Gang recently. If you can find him, you might be able to solve the truth behind this serial killing."
Lynn nodded, a new purpose already in mind. "Thanks, Blake. The information you provided was very helpful."
Blake didn't say anything else, just raised the corner of his mouth slightly and watched Lynn leave.
Lin En left Black's office with mixed emotions. Although this contact with Black did not lead to a direct conclusion, the clues he provided brought him one step closer to the truth.
After receiving Black's lead, Lynn immediately began searching for Alfred. While Black provided some information, it didn't fully reveal Alfred's location. Lynn realized that Alfred's disappearance wasn't accidental; perhaps he had deliberately hidden himself, or perhaps some force was searching for him and controlling him. Regardless, Alfred became the key to solving the mystery.
After some searching, Lynn finally found Alfred in a dilapidated warehouse in Las Vegas. Far from the city, the surroundings were desolate. The warehouse door was closed, rusted, and looked like it hadn't been used for a long time. Lynn tiptoed to the door, the only sound being the wind blowing through the empty space. He gently pushed the door open and stood there, observing everything inside.
The warehouse was dimly lit and filled with various unidentified items and equipment. Lynn scanned his surroundings with a vigilant gaze, his heartbeat accelerating. He knew Alfred was likely inside this warehouse. Suddenly, a deep voice rang out from the shadows: "You're finally here, Agent Lynn."
Lynn turned and saw Alfred. He was wearing simple clothes and looked haggard, as if he hadn't had a good time in recent years. Alfred's eyes were deep and filled with a kind of isolated indifference, as if he had completely detached himself from the hustle and bustle and conflict of the outside world.
"Did you know I would come here?" Lynn approached Alfred with a sharp gaze and steady steps. "Are you planning to hide like this forever?"
Alfred lowered his head and sighed, as if considering whether to continue hiding something. He was silent for a moment before slowly speaking, "I know you're looking for me, Lynn. You want to know why these gamblers died, what kind of deal was behind it, and how it's all connected to the Blood Eagle Gang, right?"
Lynn didn't answer immediately, but looked at Alfred quietly, waiting for him to continue.
"The Blood Eagles are no longer just a gang," Alfred suddenly raised his head, his eyes filled with pain. "Over the years, they've gone beyond just gambling and have ventured into even more terrifying areas, even exploiting gamblers and depriving them of their most precious possessions—their organs. The truth you want to know is just that dark."
When Lin En heard this, a wave of shock surged in his heart, and a look of disbelief flashed in his eyes: "Are you saying that the Blood Eagle Gang is depriving gamblers of their organs? They are obtaining organs through these killings for trade?"
Alfred nodded, his face expressionless, his voice low. "Yes. Those gamblers all have one thing in common—they're all part of the Blood Eagle Gang's 'funding source.' Some are in debt, while others were drawn into the underground gambling ring by the gang. Initially, the Blood Eagle Gang controlled these people through gambling, but as the underground gambling expanded, the organization began to realize that relying solely on the gamblers' money wasn't enough. So, they began implementing an even more horrifying plan: to surgically deprive these gamblers of their organs and resell them on the black market."
Lin En's brows furrowed tightly, his thoughts in a turmoil, and he found it difficult to accept this information. "Are you saying that all the victims died for their organs?"
"That's right." Alfred's voice was almost unnoticeable. "The Blood Eagles will target certain gamblers, especially those who have already incurred huge gambling debts, or those they consider 'useless'. Once these people die, their organs will be secretly removed and sold on the black market to wealthy people in need of organs. Just imagine how great the temptation of money is in this city. Many people give up their bottom line for a few quick profits."
Lin En was shocked after hearing this. The darkness behind this was far more terrifying than he had imagined. Taking a life in this way was not only cold-blooded, but also a deep trampling on human nature. Lin En clenched his fists, took a deep breath, and whispered, "How do you know all this?"
Alfred sighed, a trace of pain flashing in his eyes. "I used to be a member of the Blood Eagle Gang, and I know how they operate. I initially joined them for the benefits, but I gradually found that things were becoming increasingly uncontrollable. Especially when I saw them secretly operating this 'organ trade', I was completely disgusted. Those people's lives were like being completely abandoned. I wanted to leave, but they wouldn't let me go, so I had no choice but to hide."
Lin En took a deep breath and stood up straight. "Then, can you tell me whether the victim's organs have been resold?"
Alfred's eyes darkened. "I don't know the specific details, but I've heard about their trading methods. The organs are quickly processed and then circulated on the black market. There are people who specialize in purchasing these organs and reselling them to those in need. I know these things, but they won't let me reveal them easily."
Lin En didn't say much, having already made up his mind. He knew that only by verifying this information could he uncover the truth of the case and bring the criminals behind it to justice. Although Alfred had given many clues, Lin En knew that he couldn't rely entirely on Alfred's words.
"I need to investigate the remains of these deceased people," Lin En whispered. "Only through autopsies can we confirm whether these organs were indeed removed. Only then can we further prove the crimes of the Blood Eagle Gang."
Alfred nodded, seemingly understanding what was about to happen. "Be careful, Lin. The Blood Eagle Gang is spread all over this city, and they won't let you go." Lin took a deep breath, appearing more resolute. "Don't worry, I'll be careful. I'll handle everything that happens next myself."
A few hours later, Lynn and Mark quietly made their way to a funeral home in Las Vegas. This funeral home wasn't what it seemed; it was actually part of the Blood Eagles gang, used to dispose of the bodies of gamblers they had murdered. Lynn knew that only here could he obtain definitive evidence.
After some investigation, Lynn and Mark successfully came across some useful clues. The staff were unaware of Lynn's true identity, but with Lynn's clever questioning, they revealed some clues. It turned out that the Blood Eagle Gang was indeed behind the scenes, controlling some unidentified "black market traders" who were responsible for purchasing the organs obtained by the Blood Eagle Gang.
After a detailed investigation and autopsy, Lin En discovered an even more shocking fact—the deceased was indeed missing some organs. Vital organs such as the heart, kidneys, and liver had been quickly removed, leaving virtually no trace back to the original crime scene. All of this revealed the existence of a vast organ trafficking network within the Blood Eagle Gang.
"We have evidence, Mark." Lin En stood beside the autopsy report, his face solemn. "The Blood Eagle Gang isn't just killing people; they're systematically taking their organs for profit. Next, we have to take action."
Mark took a deep breath, a flash of anger in his eyes: "We have to act quickly, otherwise more people will die in their hands."
Lynn nodded. "We have evidence, and now we must make it public. No matter what the outcome, these dark truths must be uncovered."
Linn stood in the FBI office in Las Vegas, gazing at a detailed report on the table. It laid out all the evidence linking the Blood Eagles to the illegal organ trade, as well as the backgrounds of the multiple victims involved. Linn knew this document wasn't just an accusation; it held the key to their operation. If they could successfully produce this evidence, the Blood Eagles' dark dealings would be exposed, and perhaps even prevent the further loss of innocent lives.
However, this is no easy task. The Las Vegas casinos and underworld are intricately intertwined. The Blood Eagle Gang is not simply a gang, but a powerful organization with a vast network of interests. Lynn and Mark have confirmed some of this information through a series of investigations, but to truly shake the Blood Eagle Gang's foundation, they still need more assistance.
"What are you going to do?" Mark looked at Lin En, his brows furrowed. "If we hand this evidence over to the local police, will they actively cooperate with us?"
A hint of uncertainty flashed in Lin En's eyes. "This city's police force isn't strong enough to handle the Blood Eagles' massive network. We can't suppress them on our own. I've decided to hand over the evidence to the Las Vegas police, hoping they can cooperate with the FBI in a joint operation. We need to find the Blood Eagles' hidden base and dismantle their underground trading network."
Mark nodded, but there was still some worry on his face. "Do you think they can really cooperate with us? There are many people in the Las Vegas police force who are in collusion with the gangs. I'm afraid... there will be accidents."
Lin En took a deep breath and replied, "All we can do is try our best to give them enough evidence to force them to take action. As for whether they cooperate or not, we can only rely on the police's decision."
Lin and Mark then handed all their evidence to the local police, requesting they collaborate with the FBI in a comprehensive crackdown. After receiving the information, the police appeared to agree to cooperate, but Lin remained uneasy. He knew that corruption in this city was deeply rooted in every corner, and the greater the power of the Blood Eagles, the more likely they were to influence the operation through the help of certain individuals.
A few days later, the joint police and FBI operation finally began. Their target was a small Blood Eagle Gang stronghold outside the city. This was a well-hidden warehouse, seemingly unassuming from the outside, but inside, a trading center for the illegal procurement and resale of organs. Lynn, Mark, and the joint police team were fully prepared. All were equipped with body armor and sufficient weapons and equipment, ready to act swiftly and decisively.
On the day of the operation, Lynn and Mark sat in the command vehicle, closely monitoring the progress of the scene. The police special forces had already approached the target area, and everyone's expression was extremely tense. Lynn maintained contact with the on-site commander via radio to ensure that everything was proceeding according to plan.
However, as the police team approached the warehouse's perimeter, something unexpected happened. The seemingly empty warehouse suddenly erupted in intense gunfire, and several police officers fell instantly. Lin En's heart skipped a beat; he knew something was amiss. The on-site commander's urgent voice came over the radio: "Report, report! There's something unusual going on here! The enemy's equipment is unusual, and at least a few of them possess extraordinary abilities!"
Lin En immediately turned to look at Mark. The two exchanged glances, realizing that the battle before them was far from simple as they had anticipated. "They have mutants," Lin En said calmly. "Some members of the Blood Eagle Gang actually have mutants joining them!"
An even more chaotic voice came from the radio: "The situation is out of control, the situation is out of control! We need support! Urgent reinforcements!"
Lin En clenched his fists, a strong sense of crisis rising within him. He immediately contacted FBI headquarters via radio, requesting immediate reinforcements. But he knew the situation was already dire. If this raid wasn't stopped in time, the mutant members of the Blood Eagle Gang could easily overturn the police and FBI's plans, potentially resulting in even greater casualties.
"Mark, we have to provide support quickly." Lin En said without hesitation, "I'm afraid this operation won't be as simple as we thought."
Mark nodded and followed Linn closely. They quickly transferred to an armored vehicle and headed for the scene. A few hundred meters from the warehouse, Linn peered out the window and saw the street outside already shrouded in thick smoke. Police cars and ambulances raced to the scene. Linn was anxious, but he remained calm. He knew he had to fight as quickly as possible to turn the tide. (End of Chapter)
