Sherlock Holmes at Hogwarts.

Chapter 28 For Me, the Brain is the Hard Drive

The earth revolves around the sun and the moon revolves around the earth.

This is common sense in both Muggle and wizarding families.

Harry and Ron looked at Sherlock as if they had seen a ghost.

Sherlock has always given them the impression of being omniscient and knowing everything, as if there is nothing in the world that he doesn't know.

Even if he really doesn't know, it doesn't matter, because he can observe and then use deduction to infer the result.

But what's going on now?

Hermione couldn't help but blurt out, "You, you don't even know that the earth revolves around the sun?"

It is really hard to imagine that there were still people in the 20th century who did not know about this.

"You seem surprised?"

Looking at the expressions of the few people, Sherlock laughed, "Even if I understand this, I will try my best to forget it."

"Forget it, why?"

Sherlock tapped his head with his fingers:

“For me, the brain is a hard drive, and it only makes sense if you put useful things in it.

Ordinary people tend to fill their brains with garbage, and the consequence of this is that the knowledge that is useful to them is squeezed out, and when you really need to learn, you will find it difficult.

"But this is a problem of the solar system!"

Hermione's eyes widened, still looking incredulous.

"so what?"

Sherlock said in an impatient and rude tone:

"You say we go around the sun, but even if we went around the moon or circled the garden like a bear, it wouldn't make any difference to me or my life, would it?
So stop torturing me with your opinions!"

Hermione: Σ(°△°|||)︴

Harry and Ron exchanged a glance.

What he said made so much sense that I was speechless.

As if realizing that his tone was a bit too harsh, Sherlock continued:
"I'm sorry, I seemed a little rude... But it doesn't matter. I have to remember these things from today on - before this course becomes an elective."

Hermione: ̄△ ̄
On this day, all the freshmen in the class gained a deeper understanding of Sherlock.

Hermione discovered that she had misunderstood Sherlock in the past.

This person doesn't look like me at all!

After Transfiguration and Charms on Thursday, time came to the last day of study.

"Being in a class with a Slytherin is bad enough, but being in a Potions class with a Slytherin is even worse!"

According to the course schedule, Gryffindor freshmen will take two Potions classes with Slytherin students.

This also turned every Friday into Black Friday for the Gryffindor freshmen.

"Snape is the Head of Slytherin House. He is said to be partial to his own students."

The bad news made Ron, the foodie, lose interest and he looked at the food on the table in a depressed mood.

"Professor Snape?"

When Ron said the name, Sherlock and Harry both imagined a man with greasy black hair, a hooked nose, and sallow skin.

Sherlock because of his excellent observation and memory skills.

Harry had another reason.

"Sherlock, Professor Snape stared at me during the opening ceremony..."

But just as he was about to tell Sherlock about this and wanted to hear his opinion, a hundred or so owls suddenly flew into the restaurant.

Amidst a flock of messenger owls, a beautiful snowy owl fluttered down between Harry's jam plate and sugar bowl and placed a note on his plate. "Hedwig?"

Harry couldn't help but be a little surprised.

So far, the owl Hagrid had given him as a birthday present had not brought Harry anything.

Unlike Sherlock's Watson, he always brings some surprises from time to time.

"Hagrid wants you to have tea with him."

Sherlock said without looking up.

"Sherlock, have you learned the spell from Professor Flitwick that allows you to see through paper?"

After saying this, Ron himself found it funny and couldn't help laughing out loud.

But he stopped laughing, because Harry's expression as he was reading the note seemed to indicate that Sherlock was not wrong.

"He was right again?"

He couldn't help but beep softly.

Harry nodded and pushed the note towards Ron.

Written in scribbled handwriting was the following:

Dear Harry: I know you don't have classes on Friday afternoon. Could you come over and have tea with me around 3 p.m.?
I'd love to hear about your first week, please have Hedwig get back to me.]

The two couldn't help but look at each other.

Even though they had witnessed Sherlock's abilities more than once, they were still amazed at his abilities whenever a new situation arose.

"Oh my god! How on earth did you deduce that?"

"Infer what?"

"It's just...how do you know that this letter was from Hagrid, and that he invited Harry to tea?"

"I don't have time for such trifles."

Sherlock's tone was not kind, just as it had been with Hermione on Wednesday night.

But just as Ron was about to say something, Sherlock smiled and said:

“Forgive my rudeness for interrupting my train of thought, but it’s okay.

So you can't tell that this letter is from Hagrid to Harry?"

"At least not until you open it."

"It is relatively easy to understand this, but it is somewhat difficult to explain how I understand it.

It's like if I asked you to prove that one plus one equals two, you would inevitably find it difficult, but of course you and I both know that this is an indisputable fact."

Facing Harry and Ron's curious eyes, Sherlock thought for a moment and decided to explain to them:
“Just now I saw Hedwig flying towards you from a few tables away, with a note tied to her leg, which of course means someone has written to you.

The Dursleys won't write to you normally. As a freshman, you don't know many people in the magic school. Most of them are students who eat and attend classes with you. They won't contact you by owl.

Hedwig always asks you for a piece of toast when she comes, but today she doesn't, obviously she is full.

The only person who can feed it, has a good relationship with you at school, and needs to use an owl to send messages is Mr. Rubeus Hagrid.

As for the content of the letter, it is easy to guess: as a good friend who sent you to school, it is normal for him to want to know about your first week.

Plus, this is the only afternoon we don't have classes this week - so based on these circumstances, I believe it's Hagrid who's inviting you to tea."

"fantastic!"

"Fantastic!"

Harry and Ron couldn't help but shout out loud, attracting the attention of everyone nearby.
