Chapter 120: Invite Oak into a Trap

After Dain led his army into Long Lake Town, Bard stayed behind and waited outside Long Lake Town for a while.

He waited until he saw the Orcs' wolf appear at the end of the distance, then he deliberately jumped up and waved his hands a few times, and then walked into Long Lake Town leisurely.

The wolf rider who saw this scene quickly reported what he saw to the Orc Commander.

This made the Oak Leader somewhat confused. He frowned and muttered to himself, "What does this mean?"

Again.

The Orc Rider watched his leader, bored, mumbling to himself once more, and rolled his eyes inwardly. He felt that the Orc, disguised as a human, had beckoned him, clearly wanting his army to enter Lake-town and slaughter the dwarven scum together.

Isn't this obvious? Why is the commander still agonizing over this?

But it didn't dare to say what it thought and could only look down on the other party in its heart.

The Oak Commander asked, "What clothes did you see the guards on the watchtower in Long Lake Town wearing?"

"Black armor, exactly the same disguise Lord Bolger wore when he brought the dwarven scum," the Orc rider replied.

This was not something it made up, but it actually saw a compatriot on a watchtower holding a bow pointing at it. However, after noticing that it was also an orc, the companion put down the bow.

In fact, after seeing the wolf rider appear, Aegon subconsciously drew his bow and arrow, and then immediately remembered Tanes and Bard's plan, so he stopped.

Although the wolf rider was out of Egon's range, if he really took action, he would probably reveal something.

The Orc leader said admiringly, "Lord Borg is truly worthy of being the master's son. He has already taken control of Lake Town's defenses in such a short time. Let's go straight there. Lord Borg will open the gates of Lake Town for us."

Upon hearing this, the wolf rider revealed a bloodthirsty and excited expression: "Then can we..."

The wolf rider didn't finish the second half of his words, but licked his dirty and ferocious teeth. The wolf under his crotch also dripped saliva from its mouth. He fantasized about tearing the bodies of those humans into pieces, chewing bones and gnawing on flesh.

The Oak leader naturally understood what the other party meant. A sinister smile appeared on his face. "Of course! But everything will have to wait until the dwarves in Lake Town are wiped out. But remember, don't kill all those humans. The master said they can still be of great use."

In Long Lake Town, Dain, who brought the remnants of the Iron Hills safely to the town under Bard's arrangement, had a tired expression on his face, but he finally saw Thorin and forced a smile.

"I am very happy to see you again, Thorin! But your beard is still as short as before, but your body is shorter and stronger!" Dain gave Thorin a big hug.

Thorin finally breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Dain was only mentally exhausted and not physically hurt.

He gave Dain a hug as well, then stepped back and smiled as well. "You too, Dain, have grown shorter and stronger."

Then Thorin grabbed Dain's sleeve, pulled him to Tanes' side, and introduced him: "Dain, I want to introduce you to the friend who has helped me the most along the way, Tanes."

Dain looked him up and down, then said generously, "You're obviously an outstanding warrior! Since you're Thorin's friend, you're also Dain's friend! If you ever go to the Iron Hills again, just mention my name!"

Tanes looked at the generous dwarf king and nodded: "Then I won't be polite."

"Don't be polite! Thorin has told me almost everything about you in his letter. Whether it's your adventures or the healing of Thorin's father, I know everything! You have done so much for us dwarves! As long as you come to the Iron Hills, there will be plenty of barbecue and ale!"

Tanes nodded in agreement again, then said, "But we have to win the battle at hand first." The smiles on Thorin and Dain's faces faded, and they became serious.

Dain said, "When I came in, I saw the place you had prepared for the Orcs. Please be sure to send my soldiers to join us. These damned Orc scum have killed too many of my people along the way. We must avenge them."

Tanes agreed, "That's what I had in mind. Although, with the cooperation of Bard, the current mayor of Lake-town, my men have relocated the residents of Lake-town in the ambush area to other safe places, those houses are still there, and there are many waterways. To prevent any Orcs who have escaped from the lake from harming people elsewhere in Lake-town, I hope you can detach a small number of soldiers to guard the waterways with Bard, Thorin, and the others."

Dain nodded readily. "No problem! But my soldiers aren't familiar with the terrain yet..."

"Please rest assured, I will point out all the waterways in the ambush area for you. Lord Dain Ironfoot, King of the Iron Hills." Bard took off his iron helmet that smelled of orcs and walked over.

Dain looked at Tanes and Thorin and asked, "Is he Bard?"

Bard looked directly at Tanis and asked nervously, "Never mind all that for now. The Orcs outside are coming over soon. Tanis, are your soldiers ready?"

Allowing Oak to enter Lake Town was a clever move, but also a risky one.

After all, if you don't handle it well, catching a turtle in a jar will become inviting a wolf into the house.

"Don't worry, Bud, as long as the Orcs dare to come in, they will never get out alive." said Tanes.

Bard hesitated for a moment, then nodded. He glanced at Dain and said, "Alright, I hope it goes well. As planned, I will take the Lake Town guards and some of Lord Dain's soldiers to guard the edge of the ambush area to prevent the orcs from escaping."

Dain added, "Since this is a show, let's make it look more real. I'll have my deputy lead a group of soldiers. They'll pretend to resist and then immediately run towards the trap you've set."

Just when Bard and his men had arranged their manpower, a huge army of Orcs surged to the outside of Long Lake Town like a tide.

"Squeak-"

Amid the excited roars of the orcs, the gate of Long Lake Town made a shrill sound and slowly opened before their eyes, just as their leader had said.

"Come in!"

"Kill all the dwarves!!"

The Orcs banged their weapons, with bloodthirsty glints in their eyes. Under the cold gazes of Aegon and the storm soldiers who were disguised as their compatriots, these Orcs rushed in without any defense.

Inside the ambush area, Storm Troopers stared coldly through the cracks in the windows of various houses at the Orcs pouring in from the gates of Lake Town. One by one, their crossbows were quietly adjusted, aiming precisely at the unaware Orcs.

In the hidden places of each narrow corridor, flamethrowers filled with kerosene were also arranged. The black flame nozzles of these devices emitted a faint odor of kerosene, quietly waiting for Oak to take the bait.

Dain's deputy commanded the dwarf soldiers to put up a few token resistances and engaged in a brief confrontation with the Orcs.

After killing several orcs, the dwarves immediately pretended to be defeated and retreated into Lake Town.

"These dwarven scum are afraid of us! Chase them!" roared the Orc Lord. At this moment, the only thing in his mind was to kill all the dwarves so that he could perform well in front of Lord Borg.
