Chapter 40 Erin Vaughn
In the early Second Age, vast primeval forests grew throughout the northwestern region of Middle-earth, and the woods of Cape Erinvorn were only a part of that great forest.

The inhabitants of the forest are indigenous humans who are related to the Hales family.

However, with the return of the Númenóreans to Middle-earth and the outbreak of the War between the Elves and Sauron, the ancient forest suffered devastating destruction.

Because the Númenóreans cut down trees indiscriminately to build ships, Sauron sent his soldiers to set fire to the forests.

Thus, in the late Second Age, many of the surviving forest natives fled to Erinvorn.

These forest natives survived and have lived to this day as a secretive hunting people.

Tanes had already arrived at the city lord's hall with Roger and D. He greeted Nepheli Lu, who had just finished dealing with other affairs in Morn City, and sent someone to call Edgar over to listen to Roger and D's reports together.

Although for Neferi Lu, this was her second time hearing it.

Tanes tapped the table with his hand, making a crisp sound. Roger understood and closed his mouth, looking at him to ask if he had any questions.

Tanes expressed his doubts. "From what you and D have said about Erin Vaughan, it doesn't seem like a big deal. Why do you say it's so terrible?"

Roger gave a good-natured laugh, glanced at D's armor, and said, "That's because after we encountered those hunter-gatherers, they wanted to hunt us. Of course, it's also possible that the style of Dallion's armor frightened them."

D retorted unhappily, "That has nothing to do with my armor. You've seen how these people eat animal flesh and eat blood. Both men and women wear vests made of animal hide, exposing their chests. Their waists are wrapped with thick vines. They wear simple animal hide aprons and sandals woven from tree bark... If it weren't for their appearance, I'd have mistaken them for hybrids or subhumans."

Tanes pondered for a moment and asked, "So the people of Erin Vorn are still in a primitive tribal state?"

Roger nodded. "That's right. The information I told you was obtained after we defeated the group of savages who wanted to hunt us. The only lucky thing was that we could understand their language, and they could understand us as well."

At this time, Edgar, now the deputy mayor of Morn City, spoke gloomily, "Lord Tanes, if you wish to subjugate these barbarians, it will probably take a great deal of effort. I don't mean by force; defeating these barbarians is easy, but the key is how to make them submit and educate them after defeating them."

D agreed. "The people of Erinvorn are truly difficult to communicate with. They know we're human like them, yet they still want to hunt us for food. It's simply incomprehensible."

Tanes looked at Roger: "What do you think?"

Roger shrugged. "For once, I agree with Dallion. The natives of the Elinvorn Forest are extremely xenophobic and less civilized. Besides, there's nothing special about that place. Leaving them alone won't affect the Golden Tree."

Tanes nodded: "Yes, I understand. I will leave Erin Vaughn alone for now."

Then he cleared his throat and told everyone in the city hall about the events of Takiedale and his plan to look for Gandalf.

"Neferi Lu, the management of Stonewell City is handed over to you, which means the city has returned to its original owner. After all, it is the city of the Storm King, isn't it?" Tanes looked at Neferi Lu and said with a smile.

After Neferi Lu listened quietly, she smiled. "Well, then I will return Morn City to Edgar. He's the one who's most familiar with this castle, so he should be the one to manage it."

Edgar immediately said, "No, Lady Neferi Lu, you're joking. You now understand Morn City as well as I do. I admire your management these days. You are worthy of the title of Storm King."

Neferi Lu waved her hand, then turned to Tanis with a serious expression and said, "Tanis, I'm afraid your plan to find Gandalf will be temporarily ruined. During the days you were away, there was one thing you didn't know about the dwarves."

When Tanes heard this, he actually became a little nervous.

He inquired carefully, "Is it related to the dwarves? They didn't finally fight the elves, did they? No one was hurt, right? Where are the elves?"

The only thing that could make him give up looking for Gandalf immediately was probably the fight between the dwarves and the elves.

Neferi Lu was stunned, realizing Tanes had misunderstood, so she quickly explained, "You misunderstood. Although the dwarves and elves in the territory dislike each other, they live in peace. They have divided their own areas and live in their own areas, and there are no conflicts. Well, although there are minor conflicts, they are just quarrels, not to the extent of physical violence."

Tanes was relieved and asked, "So what did you say about the dwarves?"

Neferi Lu replied, "The situation is this: a week after you led the hybrids away, the dwarf named Fili arrived with a large number of carriages. He said he was following the agreement made with his teacher and wanted to trade with us, the Golden Tree."

Tanes nodded thoughtfully. "Well, that's what happened. What happened next? Did something unexpected happen?" Neferilulu continued, "No, our trade with the dwarves went very smoothly, and several dwarves stayed, forming a commercial district dedicated to trading with the dwarves. Although they didn't get the ores or gems they wanted, they were very satisfied with the fruits and vegetables from the golden tree, as well as the golden eggs and wool. Well, but that's not the point. Fili found me and left a message for you."

Tanes asked with interest: "What did Fili say?"

Neferi Lu said, "He said his uncle Thorin will come over around next month, in mid-July."

Tanes was a little surprised: "Thorin? Why would Thorin come here?"

Neferi Lu speculated, "I'm not sure about that. Fili didn't explain in detail, but he said he came here to thank you. Perhaps you helped some dwarves on your way out?"

Tanes was even more confused. "Wait, thank me? But I haven't seen any dwarves since I came back from Longderdale."

Neferi Lu shrugged. "It's not a bad thing anyway. We'll know when the time comes."

……

Time passed steadily, neither fast nor slow, and it was mid-July 2939.

The territory of the Golden Tree is developing steadily, just like the invisible and intangible time.

The new hybrids were summoned by Tanes as early as the rest of June and rushed to the port of Longdedale with supplies.

The lion hybrid also sent a winged hybrid to reply and report the situation in Longdedale. Except for Oak who occasionally came to gather intelligence but was discovered and shot by the winged hybrids patrolling in the sky, everything else was normal.

Nepheli Lu returned to Stonewell City, and the sky over the Golden Tree Territory was patrolled by storm eagles.

These darlings of the storm can see farther and report intelligence to King Greg's army patrolling the ground in a timely manner.

During the period before Thorin's arrival, Tanes also drew manpower from the Golden People to build roads between Stonewell, Morn and Hyde Fortress.

Minchirias, a sparsely populated land, lacks everything except stones, so Tanes does not have to worry about lack of stones for road construction.

Roger and D were sent out again by Tanis, and this time their destination was Shabad, another ruin that Elrond asked Tanis to rebuild.

Tanes felt that if the Orcs dared to carry out repair work in Longdale, then there was no reason for them not to rebuild Shabad in the same river basin.

And no matter whether the Orcs are there or not, they will have to go to Shabad sooner or later. It would be better to let Roger and D go there in advance to see the situation.

Before setting off, Roger himself jokingly called himself Tanes' "royal pathfinder."

But D didn't object this time and even liked calling himself Roger.

On the same day that Tanes received the reply from the lion hybrid, the news of Thorin's arrival also reached his ears while he was meditating beside the golden tree.

"Tanis, praise you! My dear friend! Thank you for giving Fili and Kili such powerful magic!"

As Tanes saw Thorin's handsome face that was out of place among the other dwarves, the other party came running over with a smile on his face and gave him a big hug.

And in the carriage that Thorin got off, Fili and Kili appeared again, and they looked at their uncle Thorin in surprise, who rarely showed happiness.

Tanes smiled back, leaned over and gave Thorin a hug, while muttering to himself.

Powerful witchcraft? Are you talking about the prayers I taught them?

I have been honest for two updates, please recommend and reward me (kowtow)
