Chapter 90 Destined by fate

Bilbo's eyes twitched as he looked at the group of goblins that kept rushing forward and were repeatedly cut in two by the giant sword. He didn't know how long this scene lasted.

Half an hour? Or a few minutes?

Anyway, Bilbo didn't know that in this vast cave, except for the areas illuminated by the torchlight, it was completely dark, which made him lose his sense of time a little.

Then he turned his head to look to the other side. If Tanes used the ultimate violent aesthetics to destroy the bodies of the goblins and reap their lives, then this prosthetic-armed lady named "Millicent" was the epitome of elegance.

She was like a dancer dancing with a sword. Bilbo had worried before whether it would be inconvenient for her to use the prosthetic hand, and whether she would feel uncomfortable in this expedition like himself.

After all, Bilbo felt that Millicent was very thin compared to Tanis and the others, and she had lost an arm, making her a typical disabled person.

So every time they ate, Bilbo would considerately give Millicent a little extra.

Eating more will help you grow taller, although Bilbo didn't know whether the other person's arm could be healed.

However, now that he saw Millicent's dazzling swordsmanship, he realized that his previous worries were unnecessary.

There is no doubt that he is the one who needs to be taken care of the most in the expedition team.

Bilbo Baggins suddenly realized this fact.

Tanis called to Bilbo, "Don't be in a daze, Bilbo. Keep going down. Gandalf and the others are waiting for us."

Bilbo nodded quickly and followed Tanes closely.

Soon they arrived at the bottom of the valley. The bodies of goblins that had fallen from above were scattered all around, almost covering the entire valley floor.

Bilbo raised his head nervously. On the road they came from, there were still many goblins rushing towards them.

"I think I will never forget this scene in my life." Bilbo said, then he raised his feet and followed Tanis with his head down.

The greatsword in Tanes's hand has been replaced with a long sword, because the road at the bottom of the valley is a bit narrow, which is not suitable for swinging the greatsword and it is easy to get stuck in the cracks of the rocks.

Although with Tanes' strength, those rock cracks would probably be destroyed directly, it still wasted a lot of his energy.

Tanis noticed a spot where sunlight was shining in and immediately called out to Bilbo and Millicent, "Look over there! There's sunlight and fresh air blowing in. That must be the exit Gandalf mentioned. Let's go!"

The goblins rushed over with shrill screams, and Tanes noticed that the passage leading to the exit was a narrow one that only one person could pass through.

Of course, this refers to humans of normal height like Tanes, not hobbits, dwarves, or goblins.

Tanes' eyes rolled, and he turned back to grab Bilbo who was following behind him, lifted him up and gently threw him into the narrow passage.

Then he said to Millicent, "Take Bilbo out first. I will try to stop these goblins here."

Millicent nodded quickly and walked past Tanes into the narrow passage.

Bilbo didn't react and was thrown to the ground by Tanes, landing among several fungi that were almost as big as himself.

The soft leaf flesh did not hurt Bilbo, and he quickly got up.

"Huh? What is this?"

As Bilbo stood up from the fungus, he saw a golden ring on the ground. He picked it up subconsciously and was about to take a closer look when he heard Millicent calling him.

"We're leaving... Be careful, Bilbo!" Millicent came to Bilbo and suddenly shouted loudly.

A goblin named "Oak" suddenly appeared from some unknown corner and pounced on Bilbo with his claws spread out, which scared Bilbo.

"Bam—"

Millicent put her hands on the wall, brought herself in front of Bilbo, and with a flying kick sent the Orc flying towards her flying back.

Bilbo watched this scene in shock, and the bad breath from the "Ockey" had already entered his nose.

He dared to believe that without Millicent's help, the other party would definitely bite off his nose.

It's so horrible. These goblins have all turned into irrational lunatics after their king died.

Just when Bilbo was terrified, the "Occitan" did not seem to be dead, which surprised Millicent a little.

After all, the force of her kick was enough to kill an Orc. The goblin corpses left on the road when they came were proof of the power of this kick.

"Robber, give my treasure back to me..." Bilbo noticed that the "Occitan" seemed to be saying something.

Although Millicent's kick didn't kill him, it almost made him faint.

It was only because of his obsession with something that he didn't faint completely.

Bilbo then picked up a fist-sized stone from the ground and threw it at the Orc, hitting him on the forehead with incredible accuracy.

The other person kicked with both feet and you wouldn't know whether he was dead or alive, because he would stop moving anyway.

Seeing this, Millicent kicked the "Occitan" aside and led Bilbo forward, running closer and closer to the sunlight at the cave entrance.

As Bilbo passed by the "Occ," he glanced sideways at the other person, and doubts arose in his heart.

Is this creature really a goblin, or an orc? Judging by its features, it looks more like a hobbit that hasn't seen the light of day for a long time...

However, the moment this idea came into Bilbo's mind, he rejected it himself.

How is that possible? Don't scare yourself, Bilbo. What hobbit doesn't like to bask in the sun?

Is the treasure he mentioned the golden ring I picked up? Should I return it?
Bilbo put his hand into his pocket and felt the cold metal ring. He hesitated whether to take it out and throw it back to the body of the "Occasion".

Since he is willing to risk his life to get it back, it must be very important to him, right?

Bilbo was about to take the ring out of his pocket and throw it back to the other party, but the sudden explosion made him shudder and put it back.

"What happened?" He looked behind him and saw that the explosion came from where Tanes was.

Tanes ran out from the smoke, and the White Wolf War Ghost Armor that was originally stained with the goblin's black blood was now covered in dust.

Seeing Bilbo standing there in a daze, Tanis shouted quickly, "Don't just stand there, Bilbo. I just threw some fire pots at the entrance of the narrow passage, but I misjudged the power and nearly collapsed the cave entrance. I'm not sure if it will affect this place. While those goblins are blocked by the flames and rocks and can't get in, let's get out first."

Bilbo seemed to have forgotten the ring he had picked up in his pocket. He didn't even look at the unconscious humanoid creature who looked like an "Occ". He nodded quickly and ran out.

Millicent had already come outside, and her relaxed voice came from the cave entrance: "It's safe outside. Mr. Bernard, Gandalf, Thorin and the others are here, waiting for us."

About ten minutes ago, in the deep pool of the Goblin Underground Kingdom.

"Gurgle-Gurgle!" A pale, hunched figure was crawling by the pond with a hungry stomach, coughing, waiting to catch some fat fish so that he could have a full meal.

His name is "Gulu" because he often makes a "Gulu, Gulu" coughing sound, so all the creatures that see him call him that.

As for his real name, it has long been forgotten with the passage of time.

He even forgot whether the creature that called him "Gulu" was human or something else.

"It doesn't matter if it's the sweet fish meat or the fatty fish oil. As long as it keeps us full, it doesn't matter what it is."

His stomach rumbled with hunger and he prayed weakly.

Then his expression suddenly became fierce, and his tone seemed to have changed into that of a different person: "Oh, come on! We should be proactive, pick up a rock and sneak up there to kill a goblin. That way we'll have food for the week."

Then his expression turned cowardly, and his tone returned to the same as before: "But, but, those goblins are very fierce, and their meat is smelly and smelly, not tasty at all."

"You're just afraid that you can't defeat them! And don't we have our treasure? Put it on! Those stupid and dirty goblins won't be able to find us at all."

"Yes, yes, we still have our baby."

Just as Gollum took out a golden ring from his pocket, which was so worn and dirty that the original color and material could not be seen, and was admiring it with an obsessed look, suddenly a loud noise came from above his head.

Then there were many muffled sounds of heavy objects falling.

Gollum immediately raised his head alertly, put the ring back into the badly worn pocket of his shorts, and then tiptoed to the place where the sound came from, using his hands and feet like a gray wolf preparing to hunt in the dark.

Then Gollum was stunned. What fell down were not stones or a goblin that occasionally slipped and fell to add to his meal, but groups of goblins fell and broke into pieces.

Sometimes a large piece of suspension bridge or other wooden debris would fall down.

"Is this a party?" Gulu muttered to himself timidly.

Then his expression turned fierce again: "Shut up! No matter what's going on up there, first capture two fresh corpses and bring them back. They'll be enough for us to eat for a long time."

The fierce expression disappeared, Gulu nodded, and just as he was about to come out of his hiding place, he heard a burst of hurried footsteps.

So he shrank back again, hid his back behind a rock, and looked towards the direction where the sound came from with the corner of his eye.

"Keep running, don't stop, our good boys! We're almost at the exit!" An old man in a gray robe was holding a long sword in his hand, followed by a large group of dwarves and two male humans.

He held his breath and reduced his breathing to the lowest level. The dwarves passing by the rock did not notice that there was a living humanoid creature behind them, staring at them quietly.

Soon, these people left here, but Gollum still waited for half a minute before showing up.

After making sure these people were far away, he revealed an innocent and happy smile, picked up a stone in his hand, grinned, and pounced on a goblin who was only seriously injured but still alive, smashing it down.

"One, two, strip off the clothes, remove the bones, and drain the blood~"

While humming a little mealtime song adapted from some unknown tune, Gollum dragged the two goblins to the narrow path.

As he was shaking his body, the golden ring he had put in his pocket was revealed little by little for some reason.

"Bilbo, run, and don't look back."

A clear male voice came, causing Gulu to look up again.

He immediately realized that there was still a group of people left behind and had not come out. After hesitantly looking at the goblin corpse he was dragging in his hand, he let go and hid in the narrow passage leading to the outside.

Just as Gulu was jogging past those fungal plants, the ring in his shorts pocket was finally shaken out, rolled to the ground, slid into the leaf flesh of those plants, and lay flat on the ground steadily.

When Gulu hid, he habitually touched his back pocket, and then his eyes suddenly widened.

No, gone?

Where did it go!?

He looked pitiful, helpless and anxious, lying on the ground looking left and right.

Could it have fallen down when the body was being moved just now?
Gollum was anxiously trying to stick his head out, but a young hobbit was suddenly thrown into the narrow passage.

As Gollum looked in disbelief and shock, he saw the hobbit stand up, pick up a golden ring and put it in his pocket.

That's mine! You thief! Robber! Liar! Thief!

That's my, our baby!!!

Gollum's shocked expression quickly turned hideous and distorted. His face, which was originally recognizable as Wu Guan's, was now no different from those ugly orcs.

But from his perspective, a beautiful human female swordsman kicked him away and fell into a semi-comatose state.

"Robber, give my treasure back to me..."

Then Gollum felt a stone hit his forehead and he fainted completely.

The time has come now.

When Tanis, Millicent and Bilbo rushed out of the cave, a loud noise was heard again. Then the foul air in the cave was blown out with dust, making the area near the cave entrance a mess.

Gandalf's relieved voice said, "Tannis, Millicent, and our dear Bilbo, we are all here now."

Then Gandalf frowned slightly. He noticed that when Bilbo heard his name being called, he did not give him a happy smile as usual. Instead, he looked back into the cave every few steps, with his hands in his jacket pockets, groping for something.

However, Thorin's actions drew Gandalf's attention away.

The dwarf took a few quick steps, rushed forward and hugged Tanes, then said to the three of them with concern and worry, "I thought you wouldn't be able to get out. If you die here because of me, I will lead the dwarf army to flatten this place after the expedition to Lonely Mountain is over."

After hearing what Thorin said, Bilbo took his hand out of his pocket, wiped his nose, and said shyly: "Thorin, uh, I, uh, thank you very much for pushing me out of the cave to a safe place. Thank you."

Thorin shook his head and said nothing. Instead, he asked curiously, "So how did the door get opened? When I fell, I noticed that the goblins on the rock walls on both sides were very shocked."

When Bernal, Millicent and Egon heard Thorin's words, they subconsciously looked at Tanes.

Oh grass.

Tanes's face changed, but fortunately the White Wolf War Ghost's mask covered his expression.

He immediately coughed lightly and said with the same concern: "Let's rest here for a while, Thorin. You must be exhausted today. Don't rush on the road for the rest of the day. Let's set off tomorrow."
