The Witcher: Make Witcher Great Again

Chapter 100 Kaiyan: Listen to me and thank you

Chapter 100 Kaiyan: Listen to me and thank you
The footprints "left" by Kaiyan were intermittent.

Sometimes not.

But with his professional tracking skills and the enhanced senses of a demon hunter that surpass those of ordinary people, Lynn finally led his group to a reed field.

"Master Lin En, Master Kaiyan is inside?"

Lynn nodded.

Suddenly, his expression changed drastically.

He raised his hand to signal everyone else to stop.

"Wait, did you all hear that?"

Professor Glogg and his group looked at each other in confusion.

They all showed confused expressions.

"Master, you mean..."

"Look over there."

Everyone looked in the direction Lin En indicated.

Then they saw what Lynn wanted them to see.

Everyone's faces turned pale.

Deep in the seemingly peaceful reed bed, I saw a series of small, scary, deformed figures, no more than one meter tall, as thin as skeletons, moving around in it.

Their steps are strange.

On the flat and wrinkled face, there were a pair of bulging eyes like those of a jaundiced patient, and a frog-like mouth with sharp fangs.

From time to time, a creepy hissing sound would come out of his mouth.

Michelle instinctively wanted to scream.

Professor Grog is an experienced man with the quickest reaction.

Before Michelle could scream, he blocked her mouth tightly.

Professor Grogg's other two students, Marco and Gottfried, were much better.

But they also looked pale.

"Master Lin En, what kind of monsters are those?"

"Evil ghost, a strange creature brought about by the intersection of the celestial spheres," Lin En's eyes swept over the faces of Professor Glogg and others, and continued, "The footprints extend all the way to the reeds. I'm afraid Kaiyan has already..."

This is a lie.

Of course, Kaiyan's death had nothing to do with these evil spirits hiding in the reeds.

But yesterday, when Lin En was carrying Kaiyan's body out of the camp, he discovered this reed bush and the evil spirit that had built its nest in it.

Lin En, who originally planned to burn Kaiyan's body, came up with a good idea.

He first took Kaiyan's body away and found a place to cremate him. Then he disguised himself as Kaiyan and left the camp, went straight to the outside of the reeds, and erased all other traces.

"You guys step back, I'll go and destroy them."

"This... Master Lin En, can't we leave before they discover us?"

"Yes, but if someone passes by unknowingly, it will endanger their life. The duty of a witcher is to protect humans. If I didn't see it, it would be fine. But since I saw it, I must take care of it."

So, everyone else retreated to a distance.

Lynn was seen drawing his master silver sword and walking into the reeds.

The group of evil spirits in the reeds discovered the intruder and rushed towards Lynn, hissing.

The evil ghosts were very fast. They raised their long and thin forelimbs like wooden sticks at the same time, scratched the air, and pounced.

Michelle didn't dare look down anymore.

Professor Glogg and the other two male students couldn't help but feel their hearts in their throats.

Then they saw that the evil ghost's claws did not grab the flesh, but the silver sword light.

The evil ghost's claws and head flew into the air, leaving two trails of blood.

This seems to be a signal.

Lynn rushed into the remaining group of monsters, swinging his master-level silver sword left and right.

The sword flashed with cold light and was as sharp as a razor.

Evil spirits attacked him from all sides, screaming and waving their limbs.

The fighting between the two sides was too fast and the scene was too chaotic.

In addition, due to the obstruction of the view by the reeds, Professor Glogg and the others could not see anything except the occasional flash of silver light.

The monsters surrounded Lynn like ants.

The demon's roaring continued, as if it was about to drown the demon hunter like a tsunami, but it was soon replaced by the sound of swords breaking through the air, screams and cries of pain.

I don’t know how long it lasted.

Finally, after a blood-curdling scream of despair, everything suddenly came to a halt.

Silence fell all around.

It was so chaotic before, but now it is suddenly eerily quiet.

Professor Glogg swallowed hard, raised his head, and straightened himself slightly.

Silence still reigned, even the reeds were still.

at last.

A young man covered in blood walked out from the reeds.

And with his shining master silver sword.

Professor Glogg was the first to dash over.

His students were a little slow to react.

But he followed closely.

"Master Lin En, are you okay?"

Lin En waved his hand: "I'm fine, they're all dead, don't worry...you guys go back to the camp first."

Professor Glogg was stunned for a moment.

"What about you, Master?"

Lin En took out a handkerchief from his arms, carefully wiped the blood off the sword, and then put it back into the scabbard.

"I have to burn the corpses of these monsters, otherwise the smell of blood and corpses will soon attract other corpse-eating creatures."

At this moment, Marco suddenly mustered up the courage to say, "Master Lin En, you and the professor should go back to the camp first. We will handle this."

"You guys?" Lin En shook his head. "Can you really handle seeing the ground covered in viscera and blood?"

"Of course." Gottfried said palely.

In fact, everyone present could roughly imagine what the scene was like in the reeds.

In the poetry of the bards, the heroic epics sung are one thing.

But in reality, the scene of corpses and blood everywhere is another matter.

The bard wouldn't bother describing how the hero cleans up the battlefield.

But what Lynn said just now aroused Gottfried's inexplicable competitive spirit.

He admitted that he couldn't slay demons and monsters like Lin En.

But at least, he thought he could do something as simple as burning the body.

"In that case, I'll leave it to you."

Lynn smiled and patted Gottfried's shoulder.

Then he left with Professor Glogg and Michelle.

Only Marco and Gottfried were left, staring at each other.

Feeling Marco's gaze, Gottfried couldn't help but ask, "Why are you looking at me? Didn't you ask to stay? Hurry up, don't dawdle. If you finish this soon, we can all get out of this damn place."

……

Lynn and the professor and their group waited for the two of them in the camp for a long time.

Only then did I see two people coming back with a bad smell and extremely bad expressions on their faces.

Just as Professor Glogg was about to go up to greet them, the two men vomited violently, shaking the earth.

Lynn said nothing.

Just listening quietly, Marco and Gottfried described with grim expressions what they saw in the reeds.

Professor Glogg sighed.

They immediately said that after they returned, they would find a bard to compile the story of the "brave" Kaiyan into a ballad and sing it.

That's fine.

That's enough.

At least, compared to being used as an experimental material and tortured to death in another world line, at least in this world line, Kaiyan is still a hero.

Will live forever in the poems of the bards.
