Chapter 210 Regis: Shit!

Lynn split the team in two.

The Syndicate and Sienna were at the back of the team, while the Witchers were leading the way.

After making sure that the people behind couldn't hear the noise in front, Lynn rode his horse to Geralt's side.

"Geralt, why don't you go and say hello? And give it a preview of your future?"

Geralt: ???

Oaks from the Viper School has something to say about the new faces on Lynn's side.

"Dude, what's going on with these people? A woman with scars on her face, she doesn't look like an ordinary civilian, and there's also a little girl..."

"You don't want to turn them into witchers too?"

Regis never misses any opportunity to show his wisdom - of course some people would think that this is showing off his knowledge - so when he heard Oaks' words, his eyes suddenly lit up.

"Ah, the legendary Trial of the Grass, a method that can transform humans into demon hunters."

"However, if I remember correctly, Alzu and Cosimo should have used actual cases to prove that the Green Grass Trial cannot be used to transform adults... Or has the Demon Hunter's Green Grass Trial made new progress after so many years?"

Lynn glanced at the high-level vampire.

"You're right, Regis, so I never intended to turn them into witchers, including that little girl."

Oaks didn't understand: "Then why did you bring them with you?"

Lin En said calmly, "The reason I brought them here is the same as the reason I brought you here, Oaks. What I want to do requires more than just demon hunters. I also need a lot of people from all walks of life."

Oakes scratched his head.

"Listening to your talk is like listening to your talk. Oh, my head is itching. I wonder if I'm going to grow a brain."

"Forget it, forget it. Don't call me for anything that requires your brain. I'll do it first."

Except for Oaks, the other people in the team had no opinions to express.

It’s none of their business anyway.

Lynn glanced at the back of the team and gave Regis a look.

The two of them then came to the front of the team.

"Regis, there is something I want to ask you."

"It's too much to ask for advice, but please tell me first."

"Suppose you knew that someone would turn a country upside down when she grew up. If you had the opportunity to meet her before she grew up, what would you do?"

"Well, I think that physically destroying its body is a solution, just like what you demon hunters usually do."

Regis is worthy of being Geralt's best friend, always making jokes in a serious manner.

"Regis..."

"Okay, okay, I was just joking. I apologize if it made you feel uncomfortable."

The high-ranking vampire suppressed the smile on his face and bowed on his horse.

Then he looked back and saw Sienna sitting in the carriage some distance away from them.

"The future you spoke of will turn a country upside down...is that the child?"

"Correct."

"But she doesn't look like that kind of person to me. She's too small and doesn't have much strength. I'm afraid only five soldiers at most would be enough to subdue her."

"Whether a person is a threat or not depends not on their strength but on their intelligence. I believe the wise Lord Regis should understand this."

Regis was not angry, but smiled instead.

"What you said makes sense, but how do you know she will do something like that in the future?"

"If I said I was a prophet, would you believe me?"

"I believe it." Now it was Lin En's turn to be surprised: "Why do you believe everything?"

Regis smiled but said nothing.

People who don’t know Regis may think he is pretentious.

But in fact, Regis just has a bit of the style of an old London butler with a Union Jack.

"So you have a solution?"

"First, I need to know her specific situation."

"That's a long story."

"It's a long road, and we have plenty of time, don't we?"

What Regis said makes sense.

So on the rest of the journey, Lynn told Regis everything about Sianna.

"A young lady from the Duke's family, a descendant of the 'Grand Duke of the Lance' Ludovico, and also the child of disaster as prophesied by the Black Sun Curse, hmm..."

Regis asked curiously, "So, you don't believe in the Black Sun Curse?"

"Of course I believe it," Lin En said, imitating Regis' tone. "I just wonder, if the Black Sun Curse is so lethal, why didn't the Elf Kings and Elf Sages throughout history, who hate humans with such deep hatred, take advantage of it?"

"As long as they can secretly hide the girls born in the eclipse, and when the time comes, they can destroy the world, why not do it?"

Regis discovered the blind spot.

"Is it possible that during the era when the Elven King and the Elven Sages fought against humans, the sorcerer named Eitibald had not yet prophesied the Curse of the Black Sun?"

Lin En thought: "That makes sense... Wait, this isn't the point of our discussion, okay? Let's get back to the topic we were discussing before."

Regis laughed a wise man's laugh.

"Of course it can change... Just as you predicted, even after Sianna fueled her hatred for twenty years, she still chose reconciliation."

"Then, we just need to let her know that her sister, the child named Anarietta, is always worried about her... I think this will dispel most of her hatred."

"Of course, this alone is not enough; proper love and attention are also needed."

"It's not just her, any child deserves to be treated this way."

Lin En smiled and said, "You sound like an expert in this area. You make a very clear point."

Regis said modestly, "I just lived a 'little' longer."

"Then I'll leave this child to you."

"You mean... let me take care of the child?"

Lynn explained.

"Yes, you are the person I trust the most and the wisest. Most importantly, I believe you have plenty of ways to control a child of this age."

"Forget about Letho and the others. George... It's not that I don't trust his character, but the chivalry of the Griffin School is okay in Toussaint, but forget about it in the north."

"I don't want Syanna to be taught by George to become a female version of Eddard Stark."

"As for Geralt, he's not the best choice either... I feel tired for him just by looking at his stubbornness. I'm lucky he can take care of himself."

"So, you are the only best candidate left."

"I know the troubles faced by the immortals. Even for humans, who can only live to be seventy or eighty, many still find their lives boring and monotonous... I'm just trying to find something for you to do."

"That's quite thoughtful of you. Thank you." Regis complained, but after thinking for a moment, he said, "This is indeed a rare experience. You can give it a try."

Lynn made a spanking motion.

"If she doesn't obey, you can beat her hard. Don't give me face. I always believe in the concept of carrot and stick. It can be applied to any living thing."
