American Scandal King

Chapter 101 Give Me an Explanation

Chapter 101 Give Me an Explanation

With Gaskell's support, things became much easier.

After roughly discussing the preliminary plan, seeing that time was running out, Ian walked out of the hospital and just saw Catherine walk in.

"Are you here to find Mr. Bent to learn about the case?" Ian quickly understood.

"No, I want to find out from you," Catherine replied. "After all, he collapsed at that moment, and you witnessed the whole process."

"But I don't have much to say. I don't know those guys," Ian said.

Catherine looked at him.

Suddenly she raised her eyebrows and said, "Have you ever looked for that Mohammed Ata?"

Ian frowned: "This has nothing to do with you."

Catherine took a deep breath and quickly changed the subject: "Several bodies were found in the river. They were from Mr. Bent's ambulance."

Ian looked at her coldly: "And then?"

Catherine replied, "They took a long detour, which added twenty minutes to their journey, and that might have cost Mr. Bent his life."

"Then they deserve to die." Ian said coldly and left.

Watching him get into the car, Catherine called out, "Ian Carr!"

Ian looked at him coldly.

Catherine shouted, "If you want to help Bent get revenge, the best way is to tell us who did it instead of doing it yourself! I know you have a close relationship with Kreps!"

You think I'll let Kreps help me deal with MS13?

Ian smiled.

Then he responded: "No, the relationship between them and me is that of a news feed."

With that, he started the car and drove away, leaving Catherine standing in the wind.

As they drove, he picked up the phone: "Krips, what's going on?"

On the phone, Kreps replied: "I contacted Crazy Kit and told him that you need him to give him an explanation for the incident in the tavern."

Ian asked, "What did he say?"

Kreps: "He's not going to give you any explanation. You can't blame me, Boss. I told you long ago that Chicago bastard won't give in easily. He even enjoys it. I guess he wants you to cause trouble for him so that he can restore his lost dignity by killing you... The underworld takes this very seriously. Without dignity, there is no prestige. There will be many assholes who will try to challenge his authority... You know how much he hates you. Honestly, I'm surprised he hasn't taken action again in this period."

Ian sneered: "I understand. As for me, I don't want him to bow his head like that. Just let your people keep an eye on them."

Kreps asked, "You intend to..."

Ian replied grimly: "Help them get the headlines."

"Okay, boss! The Crips Gang will serve you wholeheartedly, including dealing with those difficult-to-handle goods and territories." Kreps said with a smile.

It’s a pity that the boss has to control the news rhythm, otherwise we would have accepted MS’s territory today.

------

In a small town in Boston.

A man with a distinctly Middle Eastern appearance walked out of the house.

He looked around cautiously, got into his car, and was about to start the car when he heard a bang and the car shook suddenly.

Ata was shocked. Was he attacked?

He instinctively reached for his waist, but realized he didn't have a gun.

Just as I was feeling a little annoyed, I saw two people in the car that had hit me from behind were having a fierce argument.

A middle-aged man pulled out of the driveway and said, "Look what you did, you hit someone else's car!"

The driver, a woman, said bluntly, "It's all because of you. If you hadn't been nagging in my ear all the time, I wouldn't have been distracted."

"Are you a woman who only knows how to put the blame on others?"

“Are you discriminating against women?”

The two sides quarreled loudly.

Ata breathed a sigh of relief.

He opened the car door and walked over and said, "Hey, have you guys had enough of the quarrel?"

He was stunned to find that it was a news vehicle that had hit him. The middle-aged man said, "I'm sorry, sir. My colleague was driving carelessly and hit you. But it's okay, we'll help you fix your car."

He took out a business card and handed it to Ata: "This is my business card."

Ata took the business card and looked at it. "WND News Network? Are you an employee there?"

The other party smiled and said, "My name is Filileso, and I'm a reporter. We came here to report on this neighborhood. I heard it's a model community."

Ata snorted, "What's so interesting about reporting on a model community?"

The female driver had already shouted: "Life! Life is also part of the news. We can't just bring people terror, explosions and fireworks. We need some peaceful life occasionally."

Ata snorted coldly and said nothing.

But he wouldn't say that. Instead, Leso said, "Isn't the peaceful life of Americans built on the suffering of others?"

Ata secretly praised in his heart, thinking that this was absolutely right.

This made him like Leso more.

The female driver angrily said, "Leso, you're always like this! You have a very problematic mindset. I suspect you'll become a terrorist sooner or later! I don't want to talk to you anymore."

She said as she started to reverse.

Leso yelled, "You'd better get someone to fix the car right away. Leave the rest of the interview to me!"

As he said this, he picked up a camera from the car and walked over to Ata.

Ata instinctively turned his face away; he didn't want to be photographed.

Leso said, "By the way, sir, are you busy now? I just happen to need a guide while my colleague is dealing with the car repairs."

Ata shook his head: "I'm sorry, I don't have time to be your guide."

"But you have to fix the car, right? I can pay you if you want."

Ata snorted coldly: "I don't need your money. Only people like you who have no faith will fall into the trap of money."

Leso was delighted: "You think so too?"

Ata looked at him in surprise.

Leso looked around and whispered, "Americans have lost their faith. All they think about now is money. I tried to tell them that people shouldn't just live for money, but it was no use!"

Ata looked at him seriously and thought at the same time.

As a trained special agent, he has been preparing for the big events that will happen soon over the past few years, but he himself has not done anything big yet. Even if the Germans suspect him, it is only because he has had contact with some members of the organization, but it cannot be confirmed.

To be precise, for the upcoming major operation, everyone's resume must be clean, otherwise they would not be able to do this job.

So Ata thought carefully.

He didn't think Leso was testing him: This wasn't the FBI or CIA style, their style was to break in, handcuff you, and take you back for questioning.

Even so, Ata was still very alert, so he said nothing, just shook his head: "This has nothing to do with me."

"But it's about the car." Leso smiled. "Okay, man, let's just do an interview together. If you want, I can even make you famous. Oh, did I tell you? My reporter's name is Butterfly?"

"Butterfly?" Ata was stunned: "You are the butterfly?"

This is quite a reputation!
Leso smiled and said, "That's right. I'm dedicated to exposing the scandals of those beasts in human form and speaking out for justice. Unfortunately... not many people are willing to listen to me."

Ata finally became interested.

He looked at Leso. "Maybe you're using the wrong method."

Leso was surprised: "What method do you think it should be?"

Ata chuckled: "Perhaps the United States needs a profound lesson to wake them up."

He shouldn't have said this. As a guy who hides himself well, he must try to keep a low profile and not reveal his political inclinations easily, but he couldn't help it!

It was rare to see an American who was dissatisfied with the United States, and he was also a famous journalist, which made Atta feel the urge to speak out.

Leso said softly, "I think so too."

Then he smiled and said, "How about we go get the car fixed first?"

Ata nodded gently: "I'll make a call first."
