Chapter 41: Hotel Encounter

Chapter 41: Hotel Encounter
After driving for several hours, we finally arrived at the outskirts of Auckland.

It was already late. Old man Gaskell said, "I have an appointment with my friend to meet tomorrow. What about you?"

Ian replied, "I'm not in a hurry. I'm just going to wander around town."

Ian planned to learn more about the situation of the Auckland company from the old man, so he was not in a hurry to leave.

The old man said, "In that case, why don't we find a hotel together? It's rare to have friends on the road, and we can chat."

After knowing Ian Carr's identity, the old man gradually let down his guard against him.

"No problem." Ian agreed readily.

Because the Auckland Paint Company was located in the suburbs, they did not go into the city, but instead found a motel nearby to stay in.

After getting his identity confirmed at the motel, Ian went into his room to take a shower.

After changing clothes, I felt more refreshed.

He walked out of the room and came to the yard outside.

Gaskell and Lena were drinking and chatting on the lounge chairs in the garden. When she saw him come out, Lena's eyes lit up and she smiled, "Wow, you look much more handsome after taking a shower."

"Everyone looks more handsome after taking a shower." Ian came over with a smile: "Want a drink?"

The old man looked at him and asked, "Do you have any wine?"

Ian smiled and took out a bottle of wine from his bag: "I took it from the counter, it's wine from Manfei Winery."

"Haha, I like this." The old man took it without hesitation.

Ian sat down on the lounge chair next to them.

The three of them drank and chatted under the moonlight.

Perhaps because they were already quite familiar with each other, Gaskell casually said, "By the way, Carl, why do you carry a gun when you come out to do an interview?"

"Just be prepared," Ian replied. "In our line of work, we tend to offend people."

Gaskell gave him a meaningful look. "Indeed. I have a gun in my car, but most of the time I don't use it, or even touch it. Owning it and using it freely are two different things, right?"

Ian nodded: "You are a respected elder with a successful career. You don't need to rely on that thing... All you need are a few bodyguards."

Gaskell also laughed. "I really should have brought bodyguards with me. Then, when you were shooting in the air, two gunmen would have appeared from the back of my car and shot you to death."

Ian also laughed and nodded: "This is the normal rhythm of things."

The three of them drank and chatted until the night grew darker, then they went back to their rooms to rest.

Staying in the room, Ian sat on the sofa and looked at his laptop, while habitually turning on the perspective. He didn't intend to obtain any information, he was just scanning out of habit. Anyway, it didn't take long and didn't consume much energy.

At this moment, I read the news and occasionally looked up and around.

Next door was Gaskell and the others' room. Someone was taking a bath, her smooth body glistening with water. It was Lena.

She has a great figure!
Ian gasped and quickly brushed the feeling away.

He didn't like pure admiration, as it would only make him more sad. Besides, the old man was a nice person, so there was no need to blaspheme his wife like that, so he turned his head and looked elsewhere.

Then he sat up suddenly.

Taking out the Beretta pistol, Ian went to the door.

He opened the door cautiously and took a look outside. From the gap in the corner, he could vaguely see a gunman with his face covered with a red scarf pointing a gun at the receptionist's head and asking him to hand over all the keys.

Ian chuckled, "I like this."

After thinking about it, Ian took out the camera from the house, then quietly walked to Gaskell's door and knocked on it a few times.

Gaskell came to open the door and was surprised to see Ian.

Just as he was about to say something, Ian squeezed past him and came in, raising his left hand and shushing at Gaskell.

But he was still holding the gun in his left hand, and he used the muzzle of the gun instead of his fingers, which made the old man confused.

Lina had just finished her shower and came out wrapped in a bathrobe. She was visibly stunned when she saw Ian, especially with the camera still slung over his right shoulder. "Ian Carl, what are you doing?" Lina exclaimed, clutching her chest.

Ian hurriedly said, "Don't shout! There are four criminals breaking in."

what?
The old couple was stunned.

The motel is located in the suburbs, so it is more likely to be robbed.

Lian Na was horrified: "We shouldn't have tried to get closer. We should have gone directly to the five-star hotel in the city."

Ian said, "It's too late to say this now. Those guys are searching us one by one."

"what!"

As if in response to Ian's statement, a cry of surprise came from the next room, and then the sound stopped abruptly.

Others didn't know what was happening, but Lena and Gaskell realized that the gangsters had started robbing one house after another.

"Oh my God, what should we do? Will they kill us?" Lena asked in shock.

Ian looked at her and said, "They may not kill people, but they may rape them while robbing them. Mrs. Bent, you are not wearing enough."

Lina, who was only wrapped in a bath towel, covered her mouth in fear: "What should I do now?"

She tried to escape through the window, but found it was locked.

Ian had handed the camera to Gaskell: "Will you use it?"

Gaskell was stunned: "It can shoot bullets?"

"No, for filming." Ian raised his gun and said, "I will kill them, and you will be responsible for recording it."

Gaskell shook his head frantically. "No, no, I can't do this! This is crazy!"

Ian chuckled, "Trust me. Open the lens cap and point it at me. I'll adjust the focus and aperture for you. You don't have to do anything. Just point it at me. If you want, you can also point it at the gangsters in front."

The old man just looked at Ian blankly with the camera in his hand.

Ian smiled and said, "How does it feel?"

The old man replied blankly: "It's a bit heavy."

Ian laughed.

Just then, footsteps were heard at the door, and the sound of searching began next door.

Ian gestured for Lena to hide in the bedroom, and then asked Gaskell to stand with him, saying, "Don't stand in the aisle, be careful of getting shot."

“So how do I shoot it?”

"Shoot it at an angle...look at the camera and you'll find the angle."

Gaskell was speechless: "Are you confident?"

Ian smiled slightly: "Of course."

As he said this, he suddenly raised his gun and fired a shot outside.

boom!
Gunshots.

There was a scream outside, and a gangster fell down.

At the same time, there was a burst of gunfire outside. Bullets shot through the door and made big holes in it.

Ian pulled Gaskell to stand by the passage and gestured to Gaskell, asking him to pat himself and then pat the wall that was hit.

You are really in the mood!

Gaskell filmed the scene with a shaky camera.

"The camera is too shaky, those vampires will take the opportunity to lower the price." Ian sighed.
