Chapter 64 You Shouldn't Say That

Chapter 64 You Shouldn't Say That

After breakfast, it was 8:20 in the morning.

The doorbell rang on time.

Ian went to open the door and saw a yellow-haired boy standing at the door.

He had a large nose ring in his nostril, wore a black jacket with buttons all over it, had a tattoo on his neck, and had a pair of big dark circles under his skinny face.

Seeing Ian, he swayed his body and said with a smile: "You haven't seen me for a long time. I called you but you didn't even answer."

"I have to work." Ian didn't invite him in, but just stood at the door.

He looked at Burnell. "What's up?"

Burnell looked at Ian in confusion: "You have changed Ian. You are no longer the same Ian."

Ian spread his hands and said, "We all grow up. Now I just want to do a good job in the business my father left behind."

The yellow-haired boy chuckled softly. "Yeah, you've made a lot of money lately. The Los Angeles Herald has been all the rage. I heard you even bought a website. That must have cost a lot of money. You're a big boss now, Ian!"

Ian shrugged. "This is none of your business, Burnell."

"That may not be the case." Bernell looked at him fiercely: "I need some money recently!"

"How many?"

"Ten thousand yuan, I know you can afford it."

Ian folded his arms and leaned against the door: "Give me a reason."

Burnell leaned over to Ian and whispered, "Remember the girl named Yata?"

Ian looked at him doubtfully and shook his head: "I don't remember."

Burnell laughed and said, "That's the girl with two pigtails who looks like a cuckoo."

Ian: "..."

He finally had some impression.

That seemed to have happened last year. At that time, the original body and the boy in front of him found a girl. Her name seemed to be Yata, or Yali or something like that, but the voice was really strange and memorable.

Has your predecessor ever done something like this?

This has nothing to do with me!
It’s so unfair to me!
Wait, he suddenly remembered something and said, "You found that girl!"

Burnell smiled and shook his head: "I lied to you. Why should I let it go?"

"Fuck! You're such a bastard, Burnell!" Ian gritted his teeth. His predecessor actually left such a big hole for him?
He pointed at Bernell and said, "Don't try to threaten me with this, Bernell. You're on it too!"

"But I'm poor!" Burnell shook his head nonchalantly. "I don't mind going to jail, but you can't. Ian, you're my good friend. You can't just take advantage of me and throw you aside like this."

"Using you?" Ian laughed out loud: "You took me to gamble and I lost."

"But you've had fun, haven't you? The important thing about gambling isn't winning, it's having fun." Burnell replied righteously, "I've brought you fun. You can't just dump me after you've made a fortune. Otherwise, we'll both go to jail! I'm sure of that!"

Looking at the little yellow-haired boy's serious eyes, Ian was speechless.

He thought for a moment and said, "You have to give me time to prepare."

"how long."

"one day."

"Wow, maybe you can give me more than ten thousand! I'll wait for you at the Frey construction site in the suburbs at 8 o'clock this evening." Burnell became excited: "I have you, Ian Carr, I have you on my side!"

He laughed and left. Looking at his back, Ian shook his head slightly: "You shouldn't say that, man."

........................

At dusk, Ian arrived at a construction site outside Los Angeles.

A building is being built here. There is no construction at night. There is only an unfinished building and a wall surrounding it.

Ian was looking for a way in when he saw a gap in a shed. Burnell poked his yellow-haired head out and whispered, "Here, Ian!"

Following Burnell in, they walked slowly through the construction site until they came to an open area.

Burnell stood in front of a row of steel pipes and asked, "Did you bring the money?"

Ian ignored it and just looked at the unfinished building. Then he said, "There's someone inside. Is it your friend?"

Bernell looked at him in surprise. How did he know?
Then he shrugged and said, "I owe him money, and I told him you would give it to me."

Ian sighed softly and shook his head. "You're always like this, Burnell. This means more than one person might know about my affairs, and others could come and blackmail me."

Burnell smiled and said, "Don't worry, he won't tell anyone."

Ian sneered: "So you admit that he knows... This is bad. Does anyone else know?"

Burnell, apparently clueless, muttered, "I'm not sure he told anyone else. Maybe I shouldn't have told him. Hey, did you bring the money?"

Ian sneered, then he shouted: "You're not the only one who knows, so why should I give you money? That guy can also ask me for money."

After hearing this, two people came out.

One of them was a girl with two pigtails. She was the little girl named Yata or something. She was wearing a black tight leather jacket, with thick makeup and heavy eye shadow on her face. At this moment, she was standing aside with her arms folded, smoking a cigarette and chewing gum in her mouth.

The other one was a burly man wearing construction worker's clothes and holding a steel pipe in his hand.

The big man shouted, "You're right, Ian Karl. Just now I figured out why I had to go through that kid to ask you for money? You could just give me the money directly!"

"Fuck!" Burnell cried. "Bartram can't do that. He's my friend! I'll give you back the five hundred dollars when I get the money."

The big man sneered: "What I need now is 100,000!"

Burnell stamped his feet in anger: "Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Bartram, you're going too far! You can't do this, it's immoral!"

The big man sneered at Ian.

Ian said calmly, "Have you told anyone else? I'm worried a fourth person will show up asking for money."

Bartram shook his head. "No, I'm not as stupid as Burnell."

Ian smiled. "That's easy. Look, here's the thing. Now three people know my secret. You can all ask me for money, but I can't come up with 300,000. What should I do?"

The three of them looked at each other.

The girl named Yata said, "I only want my share. No matter how you divide it, I want one third, otherwise I won't testify."

Burnell shouted, "The money is mine, Bartram, I can give you a thousand!"

The big man chuckled and shook his head. "No, this is my territory. I have the final say. I can give you five hundred dollars and take away what you owe me, and then we'll be even."

"You bastard!" Burnell screamed.

Ian took off his sunglasses and looked at Burnell. He smiled softly and said, "If I were you, I would fight him to the death."
