Chapter 135 Mom, is he my uncle?

The white chill that had been surrounding Jing Xiaoyu suddenly froze.

He seemed incredulous, yet also deeply uneasy.

The cold air shattered into ice shards, flowing backwards from in front of Jing Xiaoyu at an extremely fast speed.

Jing Xiaoyu subconsciously reached out her little hand to grab it, but could only watch helplessly as the cold air disappeared between her webbed fingers.

Meanwhile, the mermaid-like wave outside the ice cave was still mocking and sneering.

Jing Xiaoyu grew increasingly agitated as he listened. He raised his little tail fin and kept slapping against the ice wall blocking the cave entrance, unsure if the cold current was still there, but he couldn't help but shout, "Let me out!"

The ice wall remained perfectly still.

On the other side, Xiaoyu followed the scent of her blood relatives all the way here.

Because of excessive tension, she was completely unaware that during her rapid swimming, her light pink, small fish tail gradually transformed into the intricate, layered petal tail of a young girl as time passed.

Her delicate facial features gradually became clearer, and with the shimmering, iridescent pink pearlescent light of her scales, she regained her proud and beautiful girlish appearance.

After an unknown amount of time, they finally tracked down to the vast underwater glacier.

The sharp mermaid-like Hertz band is getting closer and closer.

Soon, Jing Weimian clearly saw that what was lying outside the cave was a cloud of black mist swirling around the water. It was the dark force that had been imprisoned in the underwater hell but had not given up and had precisely tracked them down using sound wave energy.

Jing Weimian swam forward swiftly, her long fish tail sweeping across the area. The dark, murky wave touched the King's purifying spiritual power and vanished in an instant.

Just as Jing Weimian placed her webbed hands on the ice wall blocking the entrance to the cave, she heard Jing Xiaoyu's voice suddenly rise from inside the ice cave, "Mom? Is that Mom?"

Before anyone outside could respond, Jing Xiaoyu pressed her face almost against the ice wall and immediately called out to the people outside the cave, "Mommy, I'm here! I'm inside the ice cave. Don't worry or be anxious. I'm not hurt, nothing's wrong. I just can't get out yet. Can you hear me?"

Hearing the baby's voice, Jing Weimian's heart, which had been hanging in suspense the whole way, relaxed slightly, and she quickly responded, "I heard you, baby."

Jing Xiaoyu was taken aback, then her little eyebrows curved up, her previous anxiety vanishing. "Mommy's back?"

Jing Weimian hummed in agreement and observed the area around the ice cave. "Baby, let me see how we can get in."

"Okay, Mom, don't worry, I'm very safe inside."

Even though it was Jing Xiaoyu herself who was trapped inside the ice cave, she turned around and gently patted the ice wall with her webbed feet to comfort her mother outside the ice cave.

Jing Weimian found a new crack in the ice wall, slightly adjusted the direction of the fish tail's swing, and was just about to ask the baby to step back.

But the ice wall slowly opened along the sealed crack in the next second.

Jing Xiaoyu, who was already lying at the exit, was caught off guard and fell into Jing Weimian's arms.

"Mother……"

No matter how sensible and well-behaved Jing Xiaoyu is, she is still just a little mermaid cub.

Especially after just experiencing such a thing, and then learning through memory images that his mother was almost killed by those dark forces and bad guys when she was even younger than him.

Jing Xiaoyu felt extremely frightened and instinctively hugged her mother's neck tightly, her voice tinged with a slight sob.

"I'm sorry, Mom. I didn't see clearly and called it another fish. I even mistook you for Mom. I'm sorry, Mom, please don't be angry. I will never make this mistake again..."

"Don't talk nonsense, baby," Jing Weimian said, gently patting the little one's trembling shoulders as she coaxed, "It was clearly Mommy who lost her temper and left you behind. Are you really not hurt, baby?"

Jing Xiaoyu sniffed, then immediately shook his head, muttering "No," before remembering something and slightly loosening his grip on his mother's hand to get down. He led his mother's soft, webbed hand into the ice cave and unfolded the special corals that stored the memories, saying, "Mom, look at this."

Jing Weimian paused for a moment, then followed Jing Xiaoyu's pointing finger, raised her eyes, and looked at the memory images that came into view one by one.

The whole process wasn't long, but Jing Xiaoyu could clearly feel that as one memory after another unfolded, the hand he was holding on his mother's gradually tightened and became colder than at the beginning.

Jing Xiaoyu belatedly raised her head and saw her mother standing in front of the last memory image, staring at the scene unfolding in the memory image. Her face was expressionless, but her originally even breathing rate had become slightly disordered.

As the memory images before her eyes faded, Coral gathered them up again.

Jing Xiaoyu waited for a while, and seeing that her mother was still standing still without moving, she finally couldn't help but gently shake her webbed hand, "Mom."

Jing Weimian blinked slowly, lowered her eyes, and responded with a soft "Mm".

Jing Xiaoyu looked up at her and told Jing Weimian everything about how he had been brought to this icy region after waking up from his coma, the kinship scent of the white cold current he had smelled, and all the inexplicable words he had heard.

As she spoke, she couldn't help but glance at the special coral that had floated above and closed up again, then cautiously asked in a low voice, "Mom, is he my uncle?"

Jing Weimian neither admitted nor denied it. She simply glanced around the inside and outside of the ice cave, then looked away, took Jing Xiaoyu's little hand again, and said softly, "Baby, let's go back."

Jing Xiaoyu sensed the subtle fluctuations in her mother's suppressed aura. Although somewhat bewildered, she obediently nodded and said "okay," following closely behind her mother's fishtail as they swam back towards the palace.

Coincidentally, on their way back to the palace, they encountered the queen, who was personally leading an army to search for the whereabouts of the mother and child.

When the Queen saw Jing Weimian transform into a girl with petal-shaped tail, she was stunned for several seconds. By the time she came to her senses, Jing Weimian had already swum to her and gently hugged her.

"Mother, I'm sorry I came back so late."

Realizing that Xiao Bao had regained her past memories, the Queen couldn't help but tear up and hugged her back. "It's not too late at all. I'm so glad that Xiao Bao can return to my side safely."

As she spoke, she couldn't help but cup Jing Weimian's face in her hands again, looking at her closely, tears streaming down her face as she did so. "So this is what Xiaobao looks like when he grows up. He's so handsome. No wonder he was born to his mother."

Jing Weimian obediently let the Queen stroke the contours of her cheek, and even tried to smile and coax her, "I also think Mother is very amazing, to have given birth to me so beautiful."

The Queen finally stopped crying and smiled. She held her beautiful little baby for a while before reluctantly letting go. Her gaze finally fell on the little cub beside Jing Weimian. "Xiao Yu... is he alright?"

Jing Xiaoyu shook her head, suppressing a laugh, "I'm fine, Grandma."

Jing Weimian followed the Queen back to the palace, but the Queen somehow noticed her gloomy mood. "Xiao Bao, what's wrong?"

In the past, Jing Weimian should have forced a smile and said she was fine, but in front of her mother and baby, after a moment of silence, she directly expressed her thoughts.

"Mother, I would like to be by myself for a while."

The Queen looked at her, asked no further questions, took Jing Xiaoyu by her side, and nodded, saying, "Alright, when Xiaobao wants to talk, remember to tell your mother. Your mother will be waiting for you in the palace."

Jing Weimian softly agreed, and then told her baby that she was going to the pink ocean to reassure the baby.

Afterwards, Jing Weimian returned to the pink ocean alone, resting in the glass-clear pink water for a long time before slowly swimming to a reef in the middle of the sea.

Night fell, and the sea shimmered.

The pink petal-shaped fish tail, immersed in seawater, swayed gently with the waves near the reef.

Jing Weimian sat prone on the reef, her eyes still devoid of any emotion.

After an unknown amount of time, Jing Weimian suddenly glanced at the white, cold mist following behind her, then turned back to stare expressionlessly at the pink sea in front of her.

Her slender hand, hanging at her side, moved very slightly.
