Chapter 46: First Encounter with the Beastman
Sang Qing had just packed up and was about to leave work when he received a reminder from Curry.

Comrade Sang Qing, tomorrow is the beginning of a new month. It's time to come to work at our shelter.

[Do you want to rest or work tomorrow? ]

[This is your first day at the shelter. Do you want me to arrange for someone to pick you up?]

Sang Qing could feel Admiral Curry's anxiety through the screen, and he wished he could take her to the shelter right now.

Not wanting to disappoint Admiral Curry's enthusiasm, Sang Qing opened his keyboard and typed a reply: [I'm at work tomorrow. If it's convenient, could you please arrange for someone to pick me up?]

The last time she talked to Curry, they had an appointment at a restaurant, and she had not been to the Fifth Shelter yet.

Although navigation is possible, why not have someone answer the call?

Curry replied quickly, "OK, the address is Wutongyue Bar, No. 66 Jianda Road."

Qingqing Moshang Sang: [That’s right.]

The next day, Sang Qing washed up early and went downstairs, only to find breakfast on the table.

Sang Qing raised an eyebrow at Shi Ying who was eating at the table, "You're back."

Shi Ying only glanced at her and said in a cold voice, "Hurry up and eat. After you finish eating, I will take you to the shelter."

Sang Qing: “?”

so?

Admiral Curry said he would arrange someone to pick her up. Was it Shi Ying?
Sang Qing looked at Shi Ying with a puzzled look on his face.

She went to bed early last night and didn't know whether Shi Ying came back last night or came back in the morning to pick her up and make breakfast.

Shi Ying did not answer her doubts, but ate breakfast elegantly with his eyes slightly lowered.

Sang Qing had no choice but to sit down and go to see today's breakfast.

Sandwiches, hash browns, honey lemonade.

There is a lot of food at Shiying Club, unlike me, who can only make dumplings for breakfast.

Most of the time, I go to a breakfast shop outside for convenience.

After dinner, just put the dishes directly into the dishwasher.

I have to say that dishwashers are really good things that improve family happiness.

He looked around and saw no other hover cars, so he pulled open Shi Ying's passenger seat and sat in it, then sent a message to Admiral Curry.

[General Curry, thank you for arranging for my beastly husband to come pick me up.]

Two parts silence, three parts indifference, and four parts sarcasm.

The way Curry replied to the message was nothing like that of a majestic general in his forties or fifties.

[Haha! The shelter is short on manpower, so I was thinking of borrowing two people from District 3 to pick you up.]

Kus said this guy was out leading missions every day and never came home, so he sent him here to give him some peace and quiet.

[The Third Military District and the shelter are on the same route, so you can ask your beastly husband to take you there from now on.]

[By the way, Kus is your husband's boss, and he's also my brother. If your husband doesn't come home again, you can go find him directly.]

After listening to the explanation, Sang Qing turned his head and looked at Shi Ying's cold face, wanting to laugh.

He lowered his head and replied with a string of ellipsis.

On the other side, Curry had already revealed a fox-like smile, and neatly pushed his brother's friend's business card over, and told Kus,

"This is the wife of your right-hand man. Don't reject your friend. There are only benefits and no harm in adding him."

Shi Ying dropped her off at the entrance of the shelter and went to the Third Military Region.

Admiral Curry came to pick him up in person with his assistant.

"Hello, Therapist Sang. My name is Xiao Hai, and I'm a long-time employee at the shelter. I spoke to you twice on the phone last time. I wonder if Therapist Sang still remembers you?"

Assistant Xiao has a round face that makes him look particularly youthful, and his eyes are almost invisible when he smiles.

Sang Qing recalled the time he hung up on a harassing call and laughed sheepishly. "I'm sorry, you were so formal at the time, I thought it was a harassing call." "I've learned my lesson now. From now on, I won't waste words on phone calls. I'll always introduce myself first."

Assistant Xiao's just-right sense of humor invisibly narrowed the distance between the three people and livened up the atmosphere.

On the first day at the shelter, Curry did not rush her to work, but first took her to understand the situation in the shelter.

After meeting most of the staff in the institute, Curry took Sang Qing to a closed training ground.

The training ground was large, and the orcs inside seemed to be training like they were in an army.

Her and Kus's arrival did not attract much of their attention. They just glanced over here and then looked away.

"Are they the orcs I need to treat?" Sang Qing asked.

Curry: "Yes, part of it. There are about four to five hundred degenerate orcs in the entire Fifth Internment Camp."

Sang Qing looked at the more than one hundred people in the training ground. They were doing the training mechanically, as if it was a very boring thing for them.

The occasional glances revealed rebelliousness, disdain, and self-indulgence, like unruly wild beasts. Some were world-weary, with the light gone from their eyes.

In short, unlike the sunny and energetic faces in the logistics department, they give people the impression that their mental outlook is not very healthy.

Curry continued walking forward with Sang Qing, passing a place with a pool.

A slender figure suddenly emerged from the tall metal railings.

"Little female, are you the new researcher?"

Sang Qing was startled and took two steps back. He looked up and saw the orc inside the railing.

To be precise, he is a beastly person, with a completely human appearance.

The eyes are emerald green, and the skin near the temples is black, like snake skin, and the ears have turned into blue-black ear fins.

The backs of his hands and arms gripping the railing were also covered with black scales.

The intact skin on the orc's face was very white, and coupled with his beastly features, it gave off an inexplicably weird feeling.

"So young." The orc leaned his face against the railing and smiled evilly.

He tilted his head back and tapped the collar around his neck with his webbed fingers, "Don't worry, I can't hurt you."

Sang Qing recognized that it was a necklace made of the same material as the one Shi Ying had worn before.

"You haven't answered my question yet." The orc reminded.

"No, I'm a therapist." Sang Qing looked at him and said calmly.

The orc's dark green pupils seemed to move, and his gaze wandered over Sang Qing, as if examining her.

After looking around, his gaze fell on Curry who was accompanying him.

"Are you a mermaid?" Sang Qing asked curiously, looking at his ear fins.

The orc raised his hand and gently scratched the scales on his arm. "Not really. I don't have the noble bloodline of a mermaid. My kind is called a siren."

After the orc finished speaking, he suddenly raised his head, moved closer, showed his sharp teeth, and made a deliberately threatening sound.

This time, Sang Qing did not retreat a single step, but only frowned slightly.

"Manzhu! Don't be rude to the therapist!" Curry on the side shouted harshly and immediately stretched out his hand to block Sang Qing.

Manzhu, however, ignored Curry's warning. He sheathed his fangs and raised his eyebrows at Sang Qing, "Aren't you scared, little female?"

Only then did Curry notice Sang Qing's expression and saw that there was no trace of fear in her eyes.

It turned out that Comrade Sang Qing was so brave that he slowly put down his hands that were doing nothing.

Sang Qing's face was expressionless. He slowly smoothed his hair in front of him and said in a calm and indifferent voice, "You can't get out."

"Hahahaha..." Manzhu laughed softly in his throat, as if he had discovered something interesting.

Sang Qing looked at the unusually green eyes, took a step forward, stretched out his hand, and touched the back of his scaly hand.
