Chapter 71 Semifinals

Listening to the noisy sounds outside the locker room, Roy's mind was wandering.

Yesterday, after Penny made her choice, Roy took Penny to Sawyer Manor and let her meet Heather.

Heather had returned to the manor the day before yesterday. She was a little surprised when she first saw Penny, but she quickly accepted her.

There was no way. Heather had already deeply felt Roy's strength during her vacation at Snowmass Mountain. It was a strength that could destroy the fields.

Heather urgently needed someone to help her share Roy's firepower. She was originally going to suggest to Roy that Sadako and Kayako join the team battle, but then Penny came.

It’s better to play with humans than with ghosts, right?

And with Penny, who is not much older than her, as a companion, Heather won't be too lonely when Roy is not around.

Well, I have to mention here that Heather is actually only 21 years old, and Penny is older, she is 24 years old.

"Roy, it's almost time, we can go on stage."

Coach Lambert patted Roy on the shoulder to bring him back from his thoughts.

Roy stood up and yawned.

"What? Were you too busy last night?"

Lambert cracked a joke.

"No, I just didn't sleep well last night."

"Oh, are you nervous because I told you today's game is important?"

Today's game is indeed very important, because Roy's performance in the first two games has attracted the attention of some universities through a month of newspaper publicity.

So many college boxing coaches heard about Roy, the talented boxer who suddenly emerged.

Lambert played a very important role in this. The boxing circle is not big, and many boxing coaches actually know each other, and some are even brothers in the same school.

The boxing coaches at these universities got first-hand information about Roy through Lambert. Because the information was too exaggerated, many boxing coaches scolded Lambert for not caring about his reputation in order to promote his own student.

This made Lambert feel very innocent. He had lowered some of the data in order to increase its credibility, but the university boxing coach still found it unreliable.

There's nothing I can do about it, Roy is just so perverted now.

"That's not the case. I just can't sleep after coming back from vacation."

In reality, Roy's sleepless nights were due to his thoughts on how Heather and Penny were getting along, not because of the vacation.

"Then wash your face quickly and wake yourself up, so as not to affect the game later!"

"I will."

"By the way, Roy, don't end this game too quickly. You need to fully demonstrate your physical condition and technical level to those ignorant college coaches."

If Lambert hadn't reminded him, Roy would have really wanted to do as he did in the last match, quickly finish his opponent with one punch and go home to sleep.

Since the coach said so, Roy had no choice but to play a little longer.

"Okay, I'll try to be gentle."

"Go ahead, boy! Give those guys who don't believe in you a little shock!"

Roy pushed open the door of the locker room and smiled as he listened to the huge shouts outside.

"Not just a little bit, but a huge shock!"

Originally, the Cowboy Cup semi-finals were to be held in the original small venue, but because there were too many people who wanted to watch the game, the organizers had to rent a large stadium to host the game.

Of course, the organizers will definitely not lose money. A larger venue means more tickets can be sold. As long as half of the tickets can be sold, they can make a small profit.

If they were all sold out… Roy saw the stadium packed with people, almost full, and knew that the organizers must have made a lot of money.

Most of the people here came for Roy. Basically, they were residents of Falls Town and its surrounding areas. They came back from Christmas vacation and had one or two days before going to work or school, so they came in groups to watch Roy's game.

Roy even saw the local TV station setting up video equipment, apparently preparing to record the game.

Unfortunately, the money earned by these organizers has nothing to do with Roy, because NCAA regulations prohibit student athletes from accepting endorsements or sponsorships.

Although the NCAA itself makes a lot of money, even more than some professional sports leagues.

Don't ask, the question is that the NCAA is a non-profit organization. If college students want to make money, how will Commissioner Smith get the money?
So even though Roy is only a senior in high school, if he wants to go to college through boxing, he must be "clean."

Entering the venue with the powerful background music of "YMCA", Roy received cheers that were loud enough to blow the ceiling off.

Roy's parents did not come to watch the game this time. The two of them have not returned from vacation yet, and I wonder where they are going.

However, Jennifer and Needy did not miss the game, and Needy even brought her parents to cheer them on.

Roy also saw Heather and Penny. The two women were holding hands and cheering for Roy at the top of their lungs like crazy fans.

In addition, Roy also saw many classmates coming to the scene to cheer him on.

"Roy, look over there!"

Lambert leaned over to Roy's ear and said something, then pointed secretly into the distance.

Following Lambert's instructions, Roy saw several middle-aged men who appeared very calm in the frenzied atmosphere, holding digital cameras in their hands.

These should be the people sent by the university to observe Roy. They will take videos of Roy's games and analyze them.

"Good show, Roy!"

Lambert patted Roy on the back and then pushed him into the ring.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the second game of the Cowboy Cup semi-finals! I'm still your old friend Tony. The first semi-final is over. Now let me introduce the two teams in the second game. The red team is the pride of Oak High School, boxing supernova Roy Black!"

A deafening cheer suddenly rang out in the stadium, even causing the entire venue to vibrate slightly.

"The blue team is Scorpius Murphy from St. George's High School!"

The gymnasium suddenly became quiet, with only some cheering sounds in the corner. Those should be Scorpius Murphy's relatives and friends.

The difference in treatment between the two sides is so great that the originally neutral venue has become Roy's home court.

This made Roy's opponent today, Scorpius Murphy, very nervous. After all, he was just a senior high school student and had never seen such a big scene before.

The referee asked both sides to bump fists and explained the rules and taboos of the game.

"You seem nervous?"

Roy smiled at Scorpius.

Scorpius didn't answer.

"It's okay, don't be nervous, your ending is already determined anyway!"

This made Scorpius a little angry, but the referee announced the start of the game at this time, leaving him with no way to refute.

But this guy was able to reach the semi-finals, so he has some boxing skills and doesn't make reckless attacks.

Then, Scorpius saw Roy standing loosely in front of him.

"Kang Mang, Bei Bi!"
