Chapter 13: The fish delivery guy has been caught.

With a loud "smack!", Lin Qin slapped Liu Yongming hard across the face. "Have you said enough?"

Liu Yongming covered his face in disbelief. "You hit me? You actually dared to hit me! Lin Qin! Have I been too good to you? Don't you even know who your own man is?"

"What does she know? What does she know? Does she know what kind of people your family are?" Lin Yi stood up for Lin Qin, glaring at Liu Yongming.

A ruthless glint flashed in Liu Yongming's eyes. "Fine! Very well! You've made up your mind not to come with me today, haven't you?"

Lin Qin glared at him, her eyes filled with undisguised hatred.

Liu Yongming understood and sneered, "Fine! You don't have to come with me! But I'm taking my daughter with me today!"

As he spoke, he was about to rush backward.

Lin Yi and Lin Qin immediately rushed over to stop him, shouting, "Liu Yongming, you bastard, how dare you touch my daughter! I'll chop you to death with a kitchen knife!"

Liu Yongming was convinced that Lin Qin was only threatening him and didn't take it to heart at all.

Lin Qin was indeed afraid, but she and Lin Yi might not be able to stop Liu Yongming, and they were also worried that Liu Yaya would suffer secondary harm.

It looked like Lin Yi was about to lose control.

Lin Qin decisively let go, grabbed a wood-chopping knife from the kitchen, and started hacking wildly at Liu Yongming's bicycle, yelling, "I'll teach you to steal my daughter! Die, die, die!"

Upon hearing this, Liu Yongming's expression changed. He finally gave up on running to the backyard, turned around, and rushed out of the yard, yelling, "Lin Qin, you madwoman, put down the wood-chopping knife! Do you hear me?!"

Seeing his beloved bicycle damaged, Liu Yongming's heart was bleeding, and he wished he could strangle Lin Qin.

Lin Qin glared at him fiercely, holding a cleaver in her hand. "Liu Yongming, I'm warning you, if you dare to harass us at my house again, next time I'll chop up more than just your car!"

Terrified, Liu Yongming snatched the bicycle from Lin Qin's wood-chopping knife and fled in panic.

He can't remember anything about his daughter now.

The villagers were surprised that Lin Qin and Liu Yongming had such a big fight. They realized that the problem was not as simple as they thought, so no one made any more wild guesses. They all secretly kept an eye on Lin Yi's family's movements.

After Li Lian learned that Lin Qin had smashed Liu Yongming's bicycle with a wood-chopping knife, she realized that Lin Qin was no longer the Lin Qin who could be easily manipulated. She didn't dare to go to Lin Qin's door to make sarcastic remarks, for fear of angering Lin Qin and being chased and beaten.

Liu Yongming pushed his bicycle to a repair shop first. After a thorough inspection, the repair shop found that the bicycle was severely scratched, the chain was cut off, the handlebars were crooked, and the brakes were faulty.

He completely exploded.

Fang Ying was shocked when she learned of his ordeal. "Didn't you say that woman was submissive and easy to bully? How come it sounds like that's not the case at all now! What do we do now? Will you still be able to get a divorce smoothly?"

Liu Yongming was also very agitated. "Don't rush me. Let me think about it carefully. I must get my revenge for today's humiliation!"

Fang Ying was also angry at his attitude, so she ignored him.

Lin Qin slapped Liu Yongming, ruining his beloved bicycle, which improved her depressed mood considerably.

Since they were discharged from the hospital, Lin Yi has noticed that blackfish have started appearing in his kitchen again, one a day without fail.

Now he is increasingly certain of his previous guess, and occasionally he will steal a glance at Lin Qin, as if he wants to say something but doesn't.

Lin Qin knew what he wanted to say, but she couldn't explain, so she simply pretended not to know and drank fish soup and ate fish meat every day without any qualms. Lin Yi was completely impressed. He had been watching closely for several days, but he hadn't heard any noise outside. The fish seemed to have appeared out of thin air.

Later, he gritted his teeth and stopped going back to his room to sleep at night, instead staying in the kitchen to nap.

He finally caught Chen Wenjun, the fish deliveryman.

"Hahaha, I knew it was you, kid! I finally caught you this time!" Lin Yi was as excited as if he had won the lottery.

Chen Wenjun was both amused and exasperated. "Uncle! It's not even dawn yet. Are you going to be keeping watch here all night?"

Lin Yi chuckled, "If I don't ambush you, you won't be able to catch me! You're really something, you slippery thing! Don't send us any more fish, I feel bad about eating yours all the time! Come with me to the vegetable garden later to pick some vegetables to take back. You can grow vegetables on the boat, but you probably can't grow too many."

"Uncle, there's no need to go to so much trouble. There are only two people in my family, and we can't eat that many vegetables. What we grow ourselves is enough," Chen Wenjun quickly refused.

Lin Yi's curiosity was instantly piqued, and he subtly inquired about Chen Wenjun's situation, "What do you mean there are only two people in your family, you and your wife?"

Chen Wenjun quickly shook his head, "I have another son, the same age as Yaya. That child is not very nimble and can only stay on the boat."

"And what about your wife?"

"She ran away. She thought life with me was too hard and abandoned the children. I don't know where she went."

"Didn't you go to her parents' house to look for her?"

Chen Wenjun said with a faint self-deprecating laugh, "They looked down on me too! They secretly rowed away in the middle of the night and left. They haven't lived in Nanxi for a long time. So what if they left? I can raise my child on my own. I don't need them!"

Lin Yi immediately sighed with heartache, "You've had it tough too. Luckily nothing bad happened last time, otherwise what would have happened to your child? Be careful when you go out in the future, and go home before dark. It's chaotic outside! And don't send us any more money. Aqin and her daughter still have me! They won't go hungry!"

"I'll do whatever you say, Uncle," Chen Wenjun readily agreed.

Lin Yi finally smiled a little.

Since it was still dark, there was nothing to see in the vegetable garden. Lin Yi quickly asked, "Are you still busy? If you are, go ahead and do your work. I'll pick the vegetables and bring them to you later!"

Chen Wenjun quickly shook his head, "No need, no need to be so polite with me, Uncle. I'll wait until dawn! I just went to set up the trap, and I can collect it after dawn, so it won't delay anything."

Lin Yi didn't say anything more, and immediately started a fire to cook, and also made breakfast for Chen Wenjun.

Lin Qin faintly heard Chen Wenjun's voice in the backyard and guessed that he had been captured by Lin Yi. She couldn't help but chuckle.

Seeing that dawn was approaching and Liu Yaya was still fast asleep, she tiptoed out of the shed.

When Chen Wenjun saw her come out, he was visibly excited. He lowered his voice in the darkness and said, "Your dad is cooking in the kitchen. How has Yaya been these past few days?"

Lin Qin poured him a glass of water in the dark. "She's doing alright, she's recovering. She can lie flat to sleep these days. I'm still worried, so I let her continue to lie on her stomach. The day we were discharged from the hospital, Liu Yongming came over and made a scene, insisting on taking Ya Ya away. I used a wood-chopping knife to chop up his bicycle before he ran away."

Chen Wenjun's smile vanished instantly, replaced by a serious expression. "Given his personality, he won't let this go easily. What if he brings the entire Liu family here to cause trouble?"

Lin Qin remained relatively calm. "This is Shanglin Village. The Liu family wouldn't dare to act recklessly. Let's take it one step at a time."

Chen Wenjun clenched his fists, but Lin Qin couldn't see his cold and stern expression in the darkness.
